Sitting on the deck in the evening watching the horses come in to pasture below us . Our day was spent shopping in tge various roadside markets, and shops of nearby berlin ohio where we shop for home decor, clothing etc. we always anticipate our next trip there and never leave dissatisfied ..

A friend and I stayed here because it is the halfway point between her store and mine. What a fabulous decision! Rooms were beautiful and clean. This is the first place I've ever stayed that I felt comfortable not wearing slippers! The view is spectacular and we actually decided to work from this beautiful place instead of going in to work...great decision!! Thanks for a wonderful week!

We stay at Holmes with a View each year for one weekend, and have continued this tradition for the past 3 years. HWAV is something that we now gauge other B and B's from. The view, the clean and open, airy space, the amenities, the proximity to Wooster and its fabulous dining, or if you like "home cooking", there are alot of options around the area. Bring your bikes and see the country side during your stay. HWAV captures the very essence of the best of Ohio. There are a couple things folks need to know though 1) unless you plan on driving, bring your own food to cook 2) a continental breakfast is left in your suite: yogurt, cinnamon rolls, fresh bread and homemade jelly; juice and coffee 3) there is nothing open in Sundays in the area, so you really have to plan ahead. HWAV is simply marvelous. Give it a try!

My husband, daughter and I took my mother-in-law on a weekend away for Christmas. We have always stayed in cabins, so thought we would try something new. Holmes with a View were GREAT. My only suggestion is somehow work on the noise between each suites.

We go to Amish country twice a year, spring and fall, and we always look forward to staying at "Holmes with a View" . Once we discovered "Holmes with a View" five years ago, we have never stayed anywhere else. We have stayed in 3 of the six units, finding each one exceeding the last. Miriam & Paul are great hosts, making sure our every need is met, from the extreme cleanliness of the house, the excellent accommodations and the well- stocked (not to mention fresh bread and cinnamon rolls) kitchen. Stay here...you won't be disappointed!

I spotted this while browsing BedandBreakfast.com and it looked interesting. My wife and I were amazed when we arrived. The setting and views were beautiful. The lodging is very private and quite unique. We loved the snacks that were provided. The views from inside the unit were great and the fireplace got the chill off of us when we returned from our travels. The bed and quiet provided a restful sleep and we were rewarded with a view of the beautiful sunrise through the many windows. A great place to get away from the noise and rush.

We are a newlywed couple who were looking for a place to spend our first New Year's Eve being married. A friend told us about Holmes with a View and we thought it looked like the perfect place for us. We called and Suite #6 was the only thing available. It was like it was waiting on us. It was the perfect suite for us. The outdoor Jacuzzi, king size bed, wood burning stove and kitchenette with the two person whirlpool in the bathroom was the perfect touch. Not to mention the breathtaking view! We were so impressed! Everything was perfectly clean, and the management were so friendly! We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. It was like a dream. So relaxing and the perfect way to bring in the New Year of 2013! We were so relaxed. It was the perfect getaway. We loved it!!! Jon and Emily Booth

My wife and I recently celebrated our 25th anniversary and decided to look for a BnB in Holmes county Ohio. Holmes with a View was everything we were looking for and more. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The view was spectacular. Nearby shopping in the local small towns was convenient and charming. The owners were knowledgeable and helpful in making recommendations for dinner out. And the hot tub and fireplace completed the cozy ensemble of amenities for a very memorable celebration of our 25 years together. We would highly recommend a stay at Holmes with a view.

We went on an overnight trip to the Amish country for my mom's birthday, she wanted to go in the fall 10/2012. She loved the B&B said it was the nicest place she has stayed in as of yet. We had me, my husband, mom, grown son and bother and there was plenty of room. The owners are especially nice and friendly. Was very please with the trip and would go again and highly recommend it to everybody. .It was nice having 3 generations under one roof.

We were referred to Holmes with a View by a co-worker and friend. My wife and i have been coming to Amish Country for get aways and shopping for over 20 years so when we heard about Holmes with a view we booked a week for ourselves and our married kids and their spouses. We stayed in mid-October during the peak Fall color season that acentuate the incredible views from the Inn. The rooms are well appointed and meticulously maintained. Each room, we stayed in three separate rooms, were imaculate. I cannot say enough to describe the experience. Relaxing. Quiet. It exceeded my expectations. Holmes with a View will be a regular, preferred stay for lodging when we return. Many thanks to Paul and Miriam for providing such a blessed place to unwind! We loved the stay.

My wife and I came down to spend our 10 year anniversary and spent a wonderful weekend in Holmes with a View. The rooms were very clean and welcoming. No one bothered us, and we awoke to the cows mowing on the hill side. It was a beautiful way to wake up up and have our first coffee in the morning. I would highly recommend Holmes with a View.

We chose this bed and breakfast for our annual wedding anniversary fall destination! They have always been very enjoyable trips to the area but this choice was outstanding and certainly exceeded our expectations! Right from the start, we felt very warmly welcomed by the owners, followed by the invitation of spacious rooms, wonderful breakfast foods, and views that were also a feast to the senses. The wrap around deck with surrounding windows provided a refreshing view to accompany the morning meal! Of course that was after a wonderful night sleep in very comfy beds that made me forget I was not in my own bed at home! :) We certainly will reccomended Holmes With A View to others and look forward to returning there ourselves in the future. Thanks Holmes for the memories!

My wife and I celebrated our first year of wedded bliss at this cozy little B&B. We really enjoyed the style of rooms and the country atmosphere. The view of the rolling hills, and the clip-clopping of horse drawn carriages as the rolled through the streets was extremely peaceful and calming. The only complaints were the water smelled a little strange to us, and we had some issues checking in, but all in all this was a great trip. Would definitely recommend.

This was our first stay at Holmes with a View and it was awesome! We will most definitely stay here again on our return trips to Holmes County. It was so peaceful and relaxing, just looking out and seeing all the dairy cows in the field below was enjoyable for me. Everything was so clean and decorated nicely and all the treats were delicious!

I and 3 of my friends had a celebratory birthday weekend at Holmes with a View. This was our second stay here, and it was wonderful. The units are roomy, spotlessly clean, and comfortable. We were welcomed with fresh breads, sweet rolls, yogurt, coffees and teas galore, juices and jams! The views are lovely. We did some sightseeing, but we would have been happy to just stay put for our 2 days there.

Hot tub was a two person but large and nice. Bed and Jacuzzi were good. Complaint: No forced heat (furnace) or thermostat. Room has geo thermal and radiant floor heat. Cold in winter. Can use gas fireplace but it takes a while to heat the room. Room was cold when we arrived.

Warm, comfortable, inviting, cozy, romantic, private. I could go on and on. We stayed in suite 1 and it is absolutely beautiful, spotlessly clean with very good quality amenities throughout. I'm sure this is only the first of many stays at Holmes with a View.

My wife, two of my sisters & myself spent 2 nights here & just fell in love with the place. We had suite 3, a upper level 2 bedroom suite overlooking the farm country. The main room was huge which included a Kitchen area, dineing table & couch & chairs. From anywhere in the room we had a wonderful view as we did from the wrap around deck. The owner was a very nice & personal Lady. The four of us agreed that we would love to go back, except next time we would spend at least 4 nights.

We needed a weekend to destress and could not have picked a better place to do it. Even with a neighbor below us, the only sounds we heard were the birds, the horses and the crickets! The view and atmosphere were breathtaking! We have stayed at many other establishments in the area, but the level of excellence does not compare! Paul and Miriam have the foresight to cater to every need of their patrons (even those needs you didn't think of yourself). A great value for the peacefulness, panoramic view and pampering! We have stayed here several times. It is a very nice facility. Unique and special. We has just one issue - the room had only 2 very flat pillows for the bed, made sleep less that what it should have been.
5 on July 15, 2012
My Husband and I spent our first anniversary in Suite 1. What a beautiful room! We loved the goodies that were provided. We have already booked for a return trip in October. My suggestion is to get up early to watch the sunrise. I took a lot of good pictures of the view and the horses are a plus. Can't wait to return!

I have traveled to all 50 states and several countries and must count this has one of my top ten greatest places to stay. Our trip was a "girls" outing to Amish Country, OH; 6 of us rented 3 of the 6 suites for one night. We all wish we could have stayed a week! The suites are beautiful, immaculate, and up-to-date in amenities. Breakfast was incredible with homemade bread, rolls, and more! Stay here! Do not miss this treat!

The unique architecture presents a relaxing environment that is beautifully maintained, clean and welcoming! While looking for places to stay across America that would accommodate allergies, we were looking for places with wooden floors. Homes with a View met the requirement!
5 on July 04, 2012
It is rare to find a place that exceeds one’s expectations, especially after having read the reviews prior to making a reservation. This gem did. After picking up our key from Miriam, we found Unit 2 to be lovely and welcoming; we just stood and smiled after opening the door. The living area was spacious, the kitchen well-stocked, the bed comfortable, and the craftsmanship obvious. That first evening we sat on the deck overlooking neighboring farms, listened to the clip clop of passing buggies, and relaxed. We are both photographers, and this location was ideal because of the easy access to the back country roads, both paved and unpaved, that wind past the working farms and businesses away from the commercial tourist attractions. It is also an easy drive to the Holmes County Trail for biking. It was well worth the trip, and we will definitely return.
5 on July 03, 2012
We were looking for a location that was quiet and clean and comfortable and Holmes with a View was the perfect answer. We were able to sit on the deck and read without hearing much but the cows and the crickets. The neighbors were friendly and Miriam was always accommodating if we ever were in want for anything. We barely left-the kitchen was easy to use to cook meals and the room was clean & comfortable and a great place to relax. We'll be back often.

This is the 3rd time my wife and I have stayed at Holmes with a View. It is simply an outstanding place to stay. Two recommendations for folks. First, don't bother looking anywhere else, stay here ! And secondly, skip dinner one evening - get some wine, cheese, trail bologna and sit out on the deck and enjoy the quietness and great view.

I stayed there on two different occassions; once in April and once in May. Both trips were made most memorable by the peaceful accomodations. I kept thinking, "I could LIVE like this!" The hosts are the best and the staff are so friendly. Rooms are immaculently cleaned and decorated in charming, sophisticated country accents. The view is fantastic, and the location is central to all the attractions of Holmes County.

Wow! What a find! Serenity, inner peace, tranquility and the most magnificent scenery one could put together all in one package. We are fortunate to have found this place and spent two great days and nights here. We were able to put away the hustle and bustle of our lives and watch in awe as farmers from yesteryear worked their land. Their simplistic way of working and worshiping led us to see what we should truly value in our own lives. We are grateful that Paul and Miriam shared this place with us and so many others. Great place. We have stayed at many of the cabins and inns in the Berlin area before. We found this to be the best of them all (that is not to say the others were bad though). The little amenities, bread, rolls, yogurt, etc. added to our stay. I did give the dining 5 stars also. You have many Amish restaurants in the area but we always eat at least one dinner at the Millersburg Hotel. Great meals. Check out Bags Sports Bar also after a day of antiquing.

My wife and I stayed a night in March 2012. It was very relaxing and a great weekend getaway. Everyone was very helpful and pleasant. I would recommend this for anyone wanting to retreat from hectic life. - There are a few steep hills leading to the location. This was not a problem for us, but may be an issue in ice and snowy conditions.

Spent 2 nights on a little end of winter getaway. HWAV is our favorite place to stay in Holmes County. Beautiful accommodations and view of the countryside. Everything you need to be comfortable and plenty of homemade goodies to enjoy. Especially love the hot tub to sit back and relax at the end of the day!

We had never stayed in a "round" home before, let me tell you it was heavenly ! We had Suite #1 and stayed there March 7 & 8. It was definitely a moving experience! We both would recommend staying at this bed & breakfast ! It's the best one we've been to so far. We've stayed at many b & b's and this one by far is the most outstanding ! Thank you. My wife and I were very satisfied with our stay. Getting to the actual buildings might be a bit tricky after a winter storm (it was for us) so be mindful since the buildings are on a hill and the road can be slick! The check-in/check-out procedure was completely smooth and painless. We loved the privacy we received and the room was full of everything we needed. The breakfast food was generous and the farm fresh eggs on request made it. We brought easy to cook meals with us for some of the time and the kitchen was satisfactorily equipped including a dishwasher. The view was outstanding! If you are not familiar with the area there are fantastic restaurants within a 10-30 minute drive including the wonderful Dutch Valley Restaurant at the Carlisle Inn in Sugarcreek. We plan on returning and staying again soon!

When my wife and I planned a trip to the Rock and Roll Hall of fame we wanted to stay at a nice place that was not in Cleveland. We had always wanted to stay in a nice place and visit the Amish because my wife had never been there before. When looking for a place on line, I could not believe that we could stay in a place like Holmes for the price. We loved it. We were driving back late from Cleveland and it was very cold out said and pouring the rain. When we walked in we turned on the fireplace and wormed up. The next morning we ate the cinnamon roll and breakfast foods that were provided for us. It was great, I would go back just for the cinnamon roll! Most people think that visiting the Amish country is for the older generations but me and my wife are in are 20’s and we loved every minute of it. I would defiantly stay there again.

My mother-in-law loves to read books about the Amish. My sister-in-laws and I decided to take her on an Amish trip. We loved Holmes with a View!!!! Very clean and decorated very nice. We had a wonderful time sitting in the opening living area, after a fun day of shopping, and chatting hours about life's ups and downs by the fire. Loved it. The only complaint would be that we were not told how to open the tricky door, but that is it. Thank you for a beautiful view and warm memories! The Collins Family

Everything was supplied for breakfast if we chose to eat in and restocked quickly and unobtrusively. We will definitely stay here again.

Did not want to leave it was so relaxing. I want to go back today! I miss it already! We stayed in suite 5 , our favorite of all angles of views! I loved the accommodations, the little extra's, the goodies, the Jacuzzi, the fireplace, everything was perfect! We had beautiful weather and the cows grazing and horses to be seen in the morning, what a site! I can't wait to go back! Highly recommend this bed and breakfast. We recently stayed in Suite 6. Very lovely room with access to the hot tub on an outside deck. The room was very clean with modern decor. Large bathroom with jetted tub. We did not use the jetted tub but we did use the hot tub on the deck. I have to say it was kind of small. In order to have total privacy from neighbors you have to shut the porch light off and walk in the dark to the tub. Was kind of hard to do! Once we were in the hot tub the blue light in the tub was fine for us! The heat from the water was relaxing even though not all of the jets worked. All in all the stay was relaxing however I feel it was a little high priced considering its just one room. The price stays the same throughout the year and is the same as the multi bedroom suites in the other houses and sometimes its more than those larger suites (depending on the time of year). We've paid the same for an entire cabin with several bedrooms as we did this one room. Price is the only thing that would keep me from coming back!!!
Thank you so much for letting us know about the jets in the outdoor hot tub. It was easily remedied by reattaching a tiny hose that had come loose.

Imagine sitting on the porch on a summer evening while sipping a glass of wine and gradually observing nightime settling into this beautiful Amish area. There is great hiking, site seeing, and shopping in the area. The rooms at holmes With a View are immaculate! Even though we usually stay for one night longer stays would work even better.

Holmes with a view was the most peaceful stay we have ever had at a B&B. The surrounding area was most relaxing. I really enjoyed all of the extra amenities provided by the owners. I highly recommend Holmes with a view to anyone desiring a quiet peaceful getaway.

We stayed in the largest unit at Holmes with a View. It was the most beautiful, comfortable, peaceful place I have ever stayed. You are really renting a luxury condo with a view of the rolling farm fields of Holmes County. The wood furniture is all beautiful handmade items. The two bathrooms are large and luxurious, one with a spa tub and one with a double shower. The view is pure country, facing eastward for the sunrise. This is a fantasy suite if you are looking for a place to relax with your stack of novels and contemplate the rural life. Food is cook-your-own or visit a local restaurant - we like Chalet in the Valley but there are many others.

Loved being next to an Amish farm and having horse right in my front yard. Listening to the sounds of buggies clopping by and horses whinnying at night was very relaxing. The little extras-home made bread, cinnamon rolls, coffee, popcorn, juices etc. were a nice treat.

We had a relaxing couple of days, with a beautiful view of the countryside. Holmes with a View had everything in a well maintained large rooms and plenty of space just to walk around inside. Paul and Miriam have a outstanding Bed and Breakfast one that we will surely stay at again.

We had a thoroughly enjoyable visit to Holmes County last weekend and the best part was our stay at Holmes with a View! The suite was very cozy and comfortable and the bedrooms were as nice as any 5 star hotel! Miriam and Paul Pagrossi, the innkeepers, thought of every detail to make our stay memorable. They even shipped me home the pajamas I forgot without my even having to call!

The rooms are beautiful and comfortable. The perfect place for a relaxing weekend getaway with some wine and someone special. Highly recommended!!

We loved our trip to Ohio's Amish country and our stay at Holmes with a View. We enjoyed having being located right next to an actual Amish farm. The view was absolutely beautiful. We enjoyed watching the horses in the pasture only a few yards away. In the mornings, they would come up to graze right off of our deck. The accommodations were modern, clean and roomy. We loved having our own kitchen to prepare meals and snacks. We aren't the typical "Bed and Breakfast goers," so the privacy of having your own kitchen was perfect. The jacuzzi tub was great!! We had a wonderful and relaxing visit. It was the perfect place for us to celebrate our 20th anniversary. We definitately will be back.

This place is even better the second time around. So relaxing and lots of homemade goodies for breakfast. The view is spectacular. We feel like its home. It's extremely well-equipped (even a Keurig coffeemaker)!

We very much enjoyed our stay at Holmes with a View. The view was spectacular - rolling hills, green, farmland as far as you can see. It was very peaceful and serene. The suite was beautiful and very clean. We only stayed one night, but wished we could stay more. If we are ever back in the area, we will definitely stay at Holmes with a View again.

My friend and I decided we wanted to "celebrate" our friendship of 42 years by doing something special. Both of us enjoy visiting Amish Country, and we decided to stay two nights, and picked Holmes With a View because I have always wanted to stay in the round houses! We had such a great time! Everything about our stay was really wonderful, relaxing, pleasant, quiet, and we were close to everything we wanted to do! I can't wait until the next time I can get down there with friends and family for a very relaxing time! Thank you for having us!

This is our 3rd time at Holmes with a View, and we can't wait to go back! The view is awesome! It's truly a peaceful get-a-way for us. We've been spending our anniversaries there, and wish we could increase the frequency of our visits and the length of our stay. We enjoy the view so much that we actually hate to leave for our meals. This last time we enjoyed fixing our meals in the cabin. Thanks for a wonderful experience! Sonny & Elaine

I have tried different places in the Amish area, and I have to say this is a favorite. I wish I had more time there. We had plenty of room with our grown children and the owners thought of everything. I would highly recommend it and encourage you to allow time to enjoy a little pasture peace.

My husband & I, and my sister & her husband, stayed in the 2-bedroom Suite #3 for 2 nights. We wish we could have stayed longer! The suite was spacious, very clean, and had everything we needed. The homemade cinnamon rolls and bread were delicious. We just loved all the windows, and the wrap-around deck with an awesome view! It was so peaceful and relaxing. The location is great, close to everything, but up on the hill where it is quiet and beautiful. We didn’t get the opportunity to meet Paul, but Miriam was so friendly, and check-in/out, was fast and easy. I highly recommend Holmes with a View, and hope to come back again!

Wow!! What a wonderful place to sit and reflect on your life. This place was spectacular, very clean and the view was amazing. Will definitely be back to visit

This is the best of both worlds. The hospitality of a b & b and more privacy than a hotel. We have stayed at several places in Holmes county and this is by far the best. Spacious accomodations, spotless, incredible views, yummy treats and complete privacy. We absolutely can't wait to come back and have passed out the brochures to family and friends.

We recently stayed at Homes with a View for a weekend and were absolutely blown away by the tremendous view of the peaceful Amish countryside. In addition, the circular design of the suite and tasteful decorating enhanced our appreciation of the surroundings. Miriam was very helpful in resolving a small issue that we had with the DVD player. We would love to come back again and get away from the hustle and bustle of the "real world."

Once a year the 5 of us come and shop and stay in Holmes County. We enjoy everything, the shopping, the restaurants and the peaceful setting at the Holmes with a View has to offer. We have stayed other places over the years, but this is the best place for the 5 of us, it has everything and more than we need. We love it and hope to be back next year.

This was a delightful, comfortable, breathtaking, place to stay. The views of the valley with the cows in the pasture was so relaxing, the Amish families on their way to church Sunday morning, The fun shops in the area, Three generations (grandma, daughters, granddaughters) having silly laughing fun together. Perfect weather. How could you beat that for a wonderful time in a delightful place that is as nice as the brochure shows! Thanks for a great time!

Two night stay to celebrate my mother's 80th birthday. We loved this stay! It was clean, away from the center of the town's congestion, yet close enough to get to it all quickly when for shopping and exploring. We would love to visit again. It is unique, nestled in the hills among farmland. The view was beautiful and relaxing. The stress just melted away , mom really enjoyed the peaceful rest.

These unique homes offer quality, and a peaceful stay at a fair price. We went in April, and were fortunate to see the Amish planting their fields with horse drawn plows, right below our unit. Kept my husbands attention, since as a boy he was a farmer. This was our second stay, and we will go back to Holmes with a View.
5 on April 29, 2011
Our first stay at Holmes with a View was such an unexpected delight and leaves us longing to go back! It certainly felt like a home away from home, minus the chaos and hectic pace of our "real" life. The suite was absolutely immaculate and so welcoming with the fresh bread and cinnamon rolls from the nearby market... and even a Keurig coffee maker that was such a treat! Our stay there was much too short, but we have memories for a lifetime.

Absolutely a wonderful place to stay! Very clean, and lots of extras. This was our first time in the area. We had reservations to stay in a cabin for Friday and Saturday night, then we decided to make it a longer weekend and add Thursday night. The cabin was already booked so we found Holmes with a view to stay at on Thursday. We really wished we would have found this B&B before the cabin!! We will definately be back for another visit to the area and we will be staying at Holmes with a view.

Perfect 2-night stay in Suite 6. Needed to get away from every day stress and this was the perfect place to do so. Everything was clean and well kept. We only had a few problems, could not get the TV/dish to turn on, but the innkeeper came down to our Suite right away when we called. Also the speakers to the stereo were not hooked up and could not listen to music (good thing we brought our own stereo). One more thing...the garbage disposal did not work. Great scenery and wonderful weekend.
We always appreciate when our guests let us know about a problem during their stay. Sometimes that's the only way we find out about it. The garbage disposal was easily fixed by unclogging it first and then hitting the "reset" button. Electronics are sometimes a challenge. In this case, with the TV it was as easy as adjusting a plug. The sound system required an "expert". Thanks for taking the time to let us know!

My husband & I stayed for 2 nights over New Years for a completely relaxing visit. This was our second visit & we enjoyed it even more than the first! We stayed in Suite #2 which was very recently renovated & is very nice. We loved all the extra touches as well as the well-stocked fridge. My only suggestion would be a dresser or wardrobe for clothing--everything else was excellent!

Suite was very well thought out, comfortable, and private. You won't go wrong staying here.

We had a wonderful stay. Immaculate room with fridge, hot tub and satellite TV. Great view of the rolling hills. Close proximity to all the shopping, etc. you are looking for in Ohio Amish country. The perfect place to do not much of anything for a couple days. We will be back. The breakfast goods and treats were great too. For those negative reviewers out there - get a grip. It's a little country cottage not the Four Seasons. Don't change a thing Mr. and Mrs. Grossi.

We try to visit Holmes with a View twice a year. The suites sit on a hill over looking miles and miles of Amish farmland. The rooms are meticulous, comfortable, and feel like home. The inn keepers are gracious and will do whatever they can to make your stay comfortable. We enjoy going into the small towns and shopping and eating a wonderful Amish cooked meal, but we also enjoy returning to the serenity of our room to enjoy a peaceful evening in the country. We recommend Holmes with a View to all our friends and family.

My boyfirend Ken and I decided we wanted a beautiful quiet & relaxing weekend away from all the hustle and bustle of everyday life and that is exactly what we got from staying at Holmes with a View!! Innkeeper Miriam greeted us so warmly on our arrival - giving us the scoop on her favorite restuarants. Innkeeper Paul had seen that we could not park right next to our unit because another guest had us blocked off from our drive and he quickly rectified that problem with in minutes. We had stayed in unit #5 and it was a very cozy retreat that enabed us to snuggle under the covers while watching tv til the early afternoon. What was so nice was when you opened the blinds it was to view a beautiful sprawling countryside. Sunday morning we woke to horses grazing in the adjoining pasture right out side our unit. The Jacuzzi outside was a great addition- although a short brief but briskful cold walk out to it - we wished it had a entrance directly from inside the unit. The goodies that were left for us in the refrigerator was a welcomed surprise ! Just wished that fridge was bigger. We had brought a few things with us and found it hard to get everything in it. The homemade bread and cinnamon rolls were yummy! Upon checking out Miriam was so kind to show us Unit #1 / 2 and 6. The stay at Holmes with a view was so refreshing we are planning a visit back to stay in Unit 1 or 2 in June of 2011!!

If you are looking for a great place to stay, look no further. We stayed in the honeymoon suite #6. This was such a relaxing stay, after last minute reservations of calling all the others. The comfort & cleanliness of this suite was amazing, including the jacuzzi, fireplace and wonderful homemade goods for breakfast. Such a great view of the rolling hills of Amish Country. The hospitality of the hosts, Paul & Miriam, were outstanding. Such great memories to make a remarkable stay. Thanks! Jason & Mindy Simons--Springfield, OH

We stayed at Holmes with a View in October. It was our 3rd time staying there. We had a relaxing and enjoyable stay. Miriam and Paul are always very friendly and willing to help if you need anything during your stay. The suite is always very clean. We love the little extras that are included (bread, popcorn, hot chocolate, cinnamon buns) to name a few and are much appreciated. The view from the suite is amazing! There are restaurants and shopping near by so you don't have to travel very far. I would definitely recommend staying at Holmes with a View!

What a place! This was our first experience with Holmes with a View, but it certainly will not be our last! We stayed in "Suite 6". From the moment we arrived, we knew it was a special place. The view was spectacular, the room was well appointed, looked like a page out of a magazine, and was spotless. The fridge, although very small, was well stocked with drinks and a few surprises, and the bread and cinnamon rolls were "to die for". The Grossi's are the ultimate hosts, and have a first class property. We asked for a peek at the other suites, and they are ALL impeccable. We are already planning our next trip, which will be in the spring. We are hoping tp stay in Suite 1. Don't miss the chance to stay here---WELL WORTH THE TRIP!!!!

A great place. Very clean. Room 2 came with a king size bed and tub for 2 along with clean bath with a shower. Lots of room which was great for a stay of a few nights. Kitchen area was wonderful with dishwasher and refrigerators along with toaster, stove and microwave. The view was wonderful from the deck which surrounded our room. Very quiet and very peaceful. Close to all Holmes county offers with a short drive.

What a perfect place perfectly sited! Tucked into a hillside with a gorgeous view over a rolling farm valley. Our suite was gorgeously furnished and the cinnamon rolls were a special treat, as were the horses nuzzling the fence just beyond our deck. Two couples were extremely comfortable in a spacious two-bedroom suite. Would love to go back.

My husband and I have stayed in many B&Bs in Ohio, and this is our favorite. It is private and peaceful with beautiful views of the countryside. The rooms are spacious, clean, and bright. It is the place to go for a one or two night getaway that seems much longer.

Enjoyed staying in Unit #2. The view was incredible as the leaves were changing. We sat on the ceck in the evening and enjoyed the sound of the horses & buggies in the distance. The next morning we had our coffee on the deck as the sun came up. The clip-clop of the horses and the early morning birds were a wonderful way to start the day. We will return :)

My wife and I stayed overnight for our 11th Anniersary. This will be our 5th B&B that we have stayed at over the years. The cleaniness was amazing along with the view of the countryside. We enjoyed the homemade breakfast items and the other items that were available for us :) There were only acouple of complaints that we had... 1) There was a light left on in the bedroom closet that was locked and shown through the door frame. Unfortuanlly we didn't have any cell phone reception and it was later in the evening, so we didn't think it was a good idea to go back up to the house and tell the inn keepers...we would have to drive there... Having a phone in the room what of been helpful. 2) There were clumps of coffee in our sugar bowl... 3) The bed was way to hard for us...but maybe not for others.. They were little things, but we felt that the owners should know. Overall it was a very nice place and I would still recommend it !!

We stayed at Holmes With A View for 4 nights and we still didn't want to leave. The view is just spectacular! The suite was very clean and the goodies were very much appreciated. From the wide array of coffees, teas, hot chocolate, fresh bakery, yogurts and homemade jam that were available to us. The early morning walks in the country made our trip even more enjoyable. What else can I say, "Simply The Best"! We will be visiting again!

We were bound and determined to find the Polish Pottery Niche just because it sounded fun. It was closed but we found Holmes With a View by accident. Paul invited us in and we registered for a stay. We saw the quilt that Miriam was finishing and knew the Bed and Breakfast would be fantastic! We loved the rooms, the jacuzzi, the round design, the jam and bread, watching movies, the sunrise, the cows and horses. It was the very best mother/daughter getaway before college starts trip. We had a fantastic time!!
4.4 on September 04, 2010
If you like peace and quiet and a clean, spacious home in beautiful surroundings, this is the place for you. It is better value than any other B&B I have ever been in. The owners have put a lot of thoughtfulness and generosity into every detail of the place and have really good taste in the way they have furnished it (just the idea of round hillside homes should point to their sense of beauty). The breakfast items (yogurt, juices, bread, jams, cinnamon rolls, teas, coffee, even a Brita water filter) are all waiting for you in the fridge. The balcony outside and the fabulous view even from the living area made us want to just stay here all day and not go anywhere else. For anyone who cares, I also want to say that I was impressed that the place is heated by geothermal and radiant heat (as well as a fireplace) so they are ahead of the curve as far as energy use goes. I have only two suggestions: one is to replace the much scratched Teflon coated skillet so that guests can safely make themselves hot breakfast. The second is probably impossible to do. Though the place is wonderful in terms of wheelchair accessibility, it was impossible for my mother to get from the wheelchair to the bed, which is a very comfortable King size bed, but is extremely high, so that it was impossible for her to "climb" up to the bed (or for us to hoist her up to it) and she ended up spending the night on the sofa. If one of the 2BR suites could be identified specifically as the wheelchair accessible ones and it had a lower bed, this place would be completely perfect for our family. Even having said that, there's no question that we will be coming back again and again.
Your kind comments are appreciated. The scratched teflon coated skillet has now been replaced with new ones. Thank you so much for bringing that to our attention. The issue with the bed is not as easy to take care of. We've considered putting in a step stool, but that would not necessarily resolve the issue for our handicapped or senior guests. We'll have to give it more thought and see what we can come up with.

My husband and I are world travelers and have lived abroad as well. Holmes with a View is a wonderful, peaceful and beautiful respite from the hectic of everyday life. The room/property was spotless, the setting serene, the little amenities (stocked refrigerator, awesome 1 cup coffee maker, etc) thoughtful. I have raved about it to my family and friends. Our 2 day celebration here for our anniversary was so memorable in large part thanks to the wonderful setting!!

First the owners Miriam & Paul our the most pleasant people we have met, go out of their way to make you feel at home, arriving to be greeted, in the rooms when you enter you fine juice, homemade bread, rolls, jellies, I can't think of another place we have been that offers so much. The fireplace, the flatscreen tv, the comfortable beds, the relaxing hot tub, the round porch to sit on, the window view of the whole area is just breath taking, we tell our friends & family its are other home!

The peaceful setting and beautiful, romantic, clean and up to date accomodations exceeded our expectations. Would love to go back during the winter to compare the view!

Our stay was the most relaxing vacation we have ever had. It is sometimes hard to describe a feeling because sometimes words aren't enough. To just sit and enjoy the valley..the farm animals, the sky, watch the buggies cloppity clop past and the neighbour Amish boy manage the horses and cows...well, it's just so refreshing. The valley has to be prettiest in the whole county and yet, is close by to area farm stores like Herschbergers, Miller's Bakery and Guggisberg Cheese and restaurant Chalet in the Valley (the best cheese fondue) . Stepping inside, so spotlessly clean and well constructed. Everything you needed was there and enjoyed making a few suppers there. We enjoyed very comfortable sleep in the beds and very nice bathroom conveniences. Paul and Miriam Grossi and very gracious hosts concerned everything is perfect, which it was, and very easy to talk with and learn about the area. This is our 5th time to return to this area and won't be our last but we now know where Holme is.....with a View. Kevin, Chris, Dale and Jean from Ontario.

We had a great stay and will definitely stay there again.

My husband and I booked a suite for our anniversary. It was not our first visit to the Ohio Amish area, but it was our first stay at Holmes with a View. We were quite pleased with all the Inn had to offer! Very quiet and peaceful surroundings and an altogether enjoyable experience! If there were any negatives at all, it was in the lack of directions to get to the place. It is in the country and therefore a few landmark directions would help (besides anything sent on mapquest). The television, although a new led screen, was a bit difficult to view as it was smaller and the angle was bad. But these things pale in comparison to the atmosphere and charm of the hosts and the place itself! So yes....go and be refreshed! Debbie Codori

This was my and my mother's second time to stay at Holmes with a View. We stayed at the smaller room than the last time but our experience was still the same. The innkeepers are really nice and friendly. They made our stay more homey. 2-bedroom unit seems to be more luxurious than 1-bedroom unit based on our experiences. Amenities and breakfast are my favorite part of the stay but the best thing is the view. You cannot imagine you can get that kind of magnificent view in the morning in OH. I would recommend people that they should stay there a couple of nights and do nothing but reading, lounging, or enjoy the quietness with your family, friends, or lover.

We were overwhelmed the moment we walked in, better than any resort we have vacationed in. The atmosphere and peace, the view, the countryside, comfort, everything we could need or hope for was there for our convenience to make our stay a pleasure. We enjoyed ourselves to the max! They thought of it all!

We enjoyed are visit so much that we immediately made reservations for October. Thank you for your great location and service.

Our 3 night stay at HWAV was absolutely rejuvenating. We are somewhat picky about our accommodations but our Suite was immaculate and tastefully decorated. Paul and Miriam Grossi stock the kitchen with homemade breads, cinammon rolls, yogurts, etc etc. Sitting on the deck, we were amazed at the beauty of the pastures with the cows and horses. Listening to the birds and simply the stillness was such a treat! We hope to return again soon. If you are looking for a beautiful suite with all the amenities plus some homemade breakfast foods, HWAV won't disappoint!

Every year my husband and I visit Holmes with a View to unwind and get a fresh perspective on life. The place is immaculate, the decor is inviting and simple and has a beautiful view of the rolling hills and an Amish farm next door. There are many places to eat nearby and you're provided some baked goods from local Amish bakeries that are delicious! I love the coziness of the place and the serenity I feel the moment I get there. When I walk in I feel as if there's no other place in the world - I've never felt that with any other place I've stayed. With Miriam, Innkeeper, you feel like you're talking to a family member.

My husband and I just happened to see Holmes with a view as we were touring in the area and were lucky enough to book a room for the nite. The units are very well done with a kitchen, fireplace, interior jetted tub and nice deck. You can tell the care taken by the owners in the maintenance - it looked brand new although I think the buildings are about 10 years old. Everything in the units was high quality and they thought about the little things that make a stay special. A continental breakfast is supplied in each of the rooms. Although it was more than generous, I did somewhat miss the opportunity to go to breakfast with other guests - totally a personal preference thing. The view was wonderful and serene and the photos on the website do not do it justice in my opinion. The only thing that was a problem was the dog at the neighboring farm - bark, bark, bark, bark! I'm not sure what the owners can do about that but if it is an ongoing problem, I think I would suggest a talk with the neighbors. From a unit perspective, if we had been staying longer, I would have appreciated a closet or more space for clothing. This was not an issue for a shorter stay. I would recommend this place and would go back myself.
Thank you for your kind comments. In an effort to remain good neighbors, we have attempted to resolve the issue of barking dogs in a positive fashion and hope that this will no longer be a negative factor should you return for a second visit.

Even though a strom came thru and we were w/ out power for a few hours we still had water and were able to check in. Then tour the town, by the time we came back the power was on, and we were able to relax. Loved the tub the jets on my toes felt refreshing. We'll be back again.

Our stay was wonderful. The Grossi's have made staying here a very personal experience. The accomodations are both modern and cozy. My husband wants to live here year round!!! The scenery is a whole story in itself, we'll be spreading the word.

My sister and I stayed for three nights the beginning of May 2010 and had a wonderful experience. The two bedroom/two bath suite was beautiful, everything we needed was available, the breakfast items were out of this world as well as the view from our porch. We highly recommend Holmes with a View as part of your visit to Holmes county Ohio.

Our stay at Holmes with a View in April was the second time my sister and I had been there. We were so impressed with the tranquility, view, accommodations, etc., the first time we stayed there we brought some girl friends for a much needed get-away from the "real" world. They were as impressed as my sister and me, and we all plan on returning the first chance we get. All have had problems, worries, sickness, etc., over the past winter and were able to relax and forget their troubles for a few hours. We laughed like we hadn't laughed in years and all left much refreshed and ready to face the world again.

We stayed here over the weekend last minute and were highly pleased. The suite smelled clean upon walking in and the service was beyond our expectations. The little extras, such as, teas, coffees, juices, and breakfast made us feel special. We will be returning. -Brynn Nibert

We really enjoyed ourselves... why anyone would stay in a hotel over this is beyond me. We stayed in # 2 for two nights. The view was amazing, we got up early to watch the sun rise and watch the cows come out to eat. I enjoyed petting the horses in the pasture. It was quiet, serene but still had all the comforts of home. Tea, juice, bread, jam, coffee, yummy cinnamon rolls that I devoured. The movies, cards and music were nice and so were the Bath & body works products. Miriam arranged an in room massage for us and that was a delight. I was able to borrow Miriam's phone so that I could touch base with my daughter at home. These innkeepers go above and beyond.... awesome.. can't wait to go back

A suggestion on Trip Advisor lead me to check out Holmes with a View. It sounded great for our 2 sisters plus husbands (in our 60s) tour of OHIO. But it was so much more. We decided to stay 3 days. My husband said later we should have made it 4. He is a walker and found the area grand for "walking and talking" to the amish neighbors. Suite #3 was so clean and comfortable. The rooms colors and light level from all the windows made it so relaxing. We have stayed in many B&Bs and this may be the best. If you are in the area and looking for lodging that is quiet and PERFECT, do look at staying with Paul and Miriam; Holmes with a View.

This was a lovely stay for my fiance' and myself. We needed a little getaway, and this place was perfect. The unusual style of being in a round room was very unique, and we loved the first-class amenities and the beautiful wraparound porch. We may be planning another getaway with children later this year. A little out of the way, but so beautifully quiet at night. We've stayed at many other places, but this one was the most memorable. The only thing I would have wanted different was the ability to have either a full, hot breakfast or a coupon for one. Heavy carbs and juice were available and, while they were delicious, a dozen of eggs in the fridge and some fresh fruit would have rounded out the menu nicely.
Thank you for your kind comments. We are in the process of adding to the items already in the suite, as well as offering coupons to local restaurants for a hot breakfast. Hopefully, by the next time you visit, this will all be in place. We greatly appreciate your suggestions which help us better provide for all of our guests' expectations.

We have stayed at Holmes with a View numerous times. This time we brought another couple with us and enjoyed the privacy of having a two-bedroom, two-bath suite. Everything in this B&B is top quality - from the sheets on the bed, the towels in the bath, the toiletries provided, the fireplace, the comfortable beds, the view.... Every detail is cared for to provide the best hospitality for the Grossi's guests. If you want a relaxing time in a quiet, top-notch B&B, this is the place for you.

My husband and I came to Holmes with a View for our 15th Wedding Anniversary. It was a wonderful, relaxing trip. We stayed in suite 6 and it was beautifully decorated, very romantic. It was clean and comfortable. When we got there, we had homemade bread, cinnamon rolls, jam and a variety of juices, teas and coffee. We also had popcorn for snacks. There are movies and CD's in the room to enjoy. Suite 6 has a Jacuzzi bath in the bathroom and a hot tub on the porch. Both were great. We enjoyed the piece and quite and they outstanding view. Paul and Miriam were very kind giving us directions, tips for good places to eat and visit. This trip was everything we had hoped for and can't wait to come back!

Beautiful rooms, beautiful view!! This was our second stay at Holmes With a View and already planning to return, maybe with the kids next time. Just a wonderful place to stay; calm, quiet but with all of the modern amenities we are accustomed to. And the snacks in the room were fabulous, nice unexpected touch. Highly recommended!

This was a geteaway weekend that the Inn and Innkeepers made outstanding. We had never stayed at a bed and breakfast before and was a bit hesitant. The Grossi's exceeded our expectations by far. We used the wireless internet in our suite to not only book our next stay at Holmes With a View but we also book and Anniversary trip fpr my future in-laws. The cleanest accomodations I have ever stayed in and at a fraction of the cost of some of the places I've stayed. If you are going to do Amish Country and not stay at Holmes with a View......you are doing yourself a disservice!!!!
5 on March 15, 2010
If you wish to visit Amish country and stay in a quiet and private B&B, this is the place to do it. This is not your usual B&B, as you will stay in a free standing, octagonal, fully functional apartment. We stayed in a two bedroom. two bath unit, with a gas fireplace, full kitchen, beautiful sweeping views and great privacy. I would recommend this place to anyone and will surely return myself.

This place is fantastic. I've lost count of how many times I've been here but the last 2 trips have been girls' weekends- one with my mom, aunt and cousin and the most recent one with just my mom. We had a great time and the amenities are just fantastic from the comfy mattress to the REAL sheets and towels to the fully stocked kitchen to the yummy bread and sweet rolls left in the room- it's like no place I've ever stayed. The views are fantastic too and Paul and Miriam are the nicest people ever. You can't go wrong staying here!

Our 4th Wedding Anniversary brought us to Holmes with a View. We stayed in (Suite #2) and found from the check-in with Paul & Miriam to our departure two days later to be seamless and pleasant. The view is amazing of the rolling hills and we sat on the balcony to watch several horses run and play within close proximity to us. The suite was very clean and up-to-date in its decor. It rained the two days we were there and it added to the cozy, comfortable feel of the place. We enjoyed the fireplace and jacuzzi tub. (very romantic) The cinnamon rolls were delicious and the added surprises like juice, coffee and snacks were a nice touch! We travel quite a bit and websites aren't always true to what you get. You will NOT be disappointed!! It truly was wonderful...we didn't want to leave.

We just spent a mid-November weekend at Holmes with a View (suite 2), celebrating our anniversary. We found the accommodations to be exceptional. From the ease of reservation, to the explicit directions from Paul and Miriam, to the peace and quiet ... all were very special. The location is ideal, as it is only a short distance from Berlin and Charm and so easy to come and go as you please. Much to our surprise, a loaf of bread, breakfast rolls, and beverages were provided in our suite! We highly recommend Holmes with a View, and hope to return soon.

The internet photos do not do this wonderful inn justice. You must see with your own eyes what you are missing out on. Peace and tranquility await you along with fantastic heart warming views. Neat as a pin with a lot of love and care given to detail and making their guests feel welcome and at home. Without a doubt one of the best inn's I have stayed at in a long time; close to town and shops yet tucked beautifully into the countryside...the window views are enough to keep you coming back again and again. Miriam could not have been friendlier. This is a must see...we enjoyed it! Terri

This place is awesome! It was so clean and up to date in the decor. Every t has been crossed and it leaves nothing to be desired. I loved the brand named toiletries and the juice stocked refrigerator! The cinnamon rolls made a great desert instead of a breakfast, which was replaced by the awesome freshly baked doughnuts at nearby Hershberger's. Truly a gem!

We have stayed at Holmes with a View three times now and expect to go back again. It sits outside of town, on the edge of a pasture, and we love to sit on the deck, eat cheese and crackers, drink wine, and watch the horses play! It's in Amish/Mennonite country and it's enjoyable just to drive the back country roads and watch the people. The children have an innocence about them that our children don't have. The rooms are large, clean, comfortable and there are always rolls, coffee, etc. on hand. If you're looking for a place to relax and get away from it all -- this is the place! Food is available close by and it's always good -- and inexpensive. Try it -- you'll like it!!!!!

The views were as beautiful as described by others, and our sunrise was just what the doctor ordered. Miriam is one of the most thoughtful and caring individuals we've ever met and her graciousness made our stay truly special. Our two bedroom suite was spacious, clean and comfortable. The locally baked cinammon rolls waiting for us on the kitchent counter were a delightful touch, and tasty also. A fully stocked coffee service was also a pleasant surprise. Being just south of Berlin, placed us very close to all of the shops & restaurants that we usually visit. All of the electronics worked well and the satellite service worked without any issues. A wireless internet connection is available and we were able to connect with no problems. We are looking forward to staying with Miriam & Paul again.

My fiance and I went to Holmes with a View for the second time around (suite #2), and this time was even better than the first. I must say that Paul and Miriam (innkeepers) set a pretty high standard with regards to the upkeep of the property - it is just beautiful, inside and out. Okay, to start, there's a great sense of privacy, as each suite has its own car port area near the suite entrance. Upon entering the suite, you get the immediate feeling of cleanliness, coziness and warmth - the furnishings and appliances are up-to-date and of exceptional quality. Since the first time we visited in October of 2008, there have been upgrades to a number of amenities, including the TV (new flat screen) and the king-size bed. Paul and Miriam really had a great vision when they created Holmes with a View, and they keep the guests in mind, considering the upgrades. They even provide a book that has a synopsis bio of themselves and Holmes with a View. It lists local activities and grocery stores as well. This review is being submitted thanks to the free internet access provided. There are no in-suite telephones, but for us, that was an addded bonus. The kitchen in our suite was stocked with continental breakfast items - the cinnnamon rolls from Hershberger's Farm & Bakery are phenomenal! I'll definitely be calling in special orders to them. We appreciated the in-suite whirlpool tub. There's a fireplace for colder times of the year. Now to the View... It's just beautiful...rolling countryside. Dotted with small farmhouses, a wheat field (I think), and trees that fade off into the distance, you get caught up in the serenity of the view. This B&B is definitely appropriately named. As I sat on the wrap-around deck, it was so tranquil watching the horses as they grazed the fields. The setting is very picturesque - I kept snapping away using my camera. Holmes with a View is postcard pretty. Many thanks to Paul and Miriam for a wonderful and relaxing stay.
We appreciate each and every review written by our guests, making us aware of what is appreciated about Holmes with a View along with suggestions for improvement. We do our best to keep everything in pristine condition and update amenities to keep things current. Thanks to ALL our guests for choosing to stay at Holmes with a View and spreading the word to friends a families. You're our best form of advertising.

My husband and I stayed at Holmes with a View in May 09 to celebrate our anniversary. The view was truly lovely, and the room was spotless and welcoming. Because our arrival was late evening and after many area restaurants were close, we were able to bring food and wine to prepare in the kitchen that was adequately equiped for such a purpose. Fresh bread, cinnamon rolls, jams, butter, and juice were provided for a continental breakfast. The innkeepers were accomodating and helpful in guiding us to area sights and restaurants. We highly recommend Holmes with View.

Many extras were provided in the fridge so that we didn't have to shop for water, etc. Most of all, Mom felt it was the best present she has received-the time together alone was priceless to me.

We had the greatest get-away at Holmes with a View. Everything about it was fantastic. We needed a quiet, beautiful, relaxing place to spend together and this was the perfect place. We can't wait to visit again!

Suite #1 won our hearts. Truly, the view is breathtaking. Spacious. Comfy. (comfy bed; comfy chair; comfy quilt.) We raised the windows to hear the beautiful sounds - particularly "clip clop, clip clop."

This was the 2nd time at hwav with friends. All 4 of us have always enjoyed the house and the activities we found to do. We always say we will come back again. We love having the kitchen available to us for our long relaxing mornings of coffee and breakfast goodies you leave for quests plus our own staples we bring, before hitting the road to visit Lehman's, Heini's, the amish bakeries, craft stores, restaurants and wineries and just driving the back roads. We will always find hwav a special place that we share with our friends. We have stayed in suite 3 & 4 and have enjoyed them both.

My dad gave my sister, my mother and I this weekend stay as a Christmas gift. I have never stayed in a "B&B" before and did not think I would like it. HWAV proved me wrong! It was the most serene setting I could ever imagine but close enough to several towns to enjoy the area. The accomodations are terrific, BEAUTIFULLY decorated, spacious rooms, and clean beyond comparison. I did not have the opportunity to meet the owners but the facilities speak for themselves. The baked goods from Harshbargers just down the road are terrific, and it was so wonderful to have fresh o.j. ready and waiting. From what I understand, it is not your typical B&B, but in my book that is a good thing. I will go back at the first chance I get, or the next time my dad agrees to pay!

JUST A WONDERFUL PLACE TO GO HIDE FROM EVERYTHING FOR A FEW DAYS. I DON'T KNOW THAT I'VE EVER DONE SO LITTLE IN THE SPAN OF A WEEKEND. AN ARMLOAD OF BOOKS, SOME EASY TO PREPARE MEALS, AND MY WIFE AND I ARE HAPPY TO JUST SIT BACK AND ENJOY THE VIEW AND THE OCCASIONAL NAP.

What a charming and unique place to complete the celebration of my parents' 50th wedding anniversary. My mother loved the circular design of the cottages that provided windows from every angle of the building. She enjoyed the sun streaming through early in the morning and the majestic view of the countryside as everything was preparing to turn green for planning season. The owners welcomed my parents with a pleasant surprise-a gift of thoughtful treats. They loved the whirlpool tub and the two person shower. It was so spacious and clean. The decor was the perfect balance of ultra modern and country quaint. It is also very eco-friendly with large windows and a skylight that allows you to conserve electricity until it gets dark. I knew my mother would love this place, but my father was overly impressed by Holmes with a View. When we first entered he kept saying, "This is nice. This is really something else."

Although the weather was not great, we really were able to relax and enjoy our home with a view. It was very clean, and everything we wanted was there. Also, we enjoyed the restaurants Miriam Grossi recommended.

My husband and I wanted a quiet "get away" night after several hectic weeks with work, income tax preparation, and family crises. This B & B had one unit left and we were invited to see it before we made a decision. WOW!! When we walked in the door, saw the beautiful view, warm comfortable decor and the Wonderful Whirlpool tub.... we called to confirm our stay immediately! We ended up staying in for dinner so we could soak up as much of this restful place as possible. We took several brochures and have given them to friends and family!

We have stayed here on 2 other occasions and enjoyed our stays. This was our 30th wedding anniversary and we book the more expensive suite thinking it would be even nicer. Although the hot tub on the deck was nice we were disappointed that the room itself. It was much smaller and then the other suites and much more expensive. The kitchenette was barely adequate and there was little room in the living/bedroom. The people in the room above us were very noisy and woke us up at 6 in the morning. I would not recommend staying in the lower level suites.

We were very pleased with our stay at HWAV! I was looking for a nice quiet weekend away from preparing taxes and wanted to take my wife on one last romantic getaway before our baby comes. It couldn't have been more perfect. The room was beautiful and the view was spectacular. We only wish we could have stayed a little longer. We enjoyed the extra little things left by the owners. We will definitely be back in the future!

Spent three glorious days and two nights and we just loved the ambiance and tranquility of Holmes with a View. Views from the units are spectacular (rolling green farm pastures with horses & cattle predominantly on display. Lots of quality merchandise shops for the ladies and good food served at the Amish restaurants. If your looking for some quality "quiet time", you will surely fine it here....

We stayed at homes with a view. The owners were so nice and the place was beautiful. It was the cutest place I have ever stayed. It was so clean and decorated so cute. We are planning to go back this summer.
5 on March 26, 2009
My husband and I wanted an affordable 3-day getaway to recharge. Holmes with a View winter discount rates were just the ticket! The unique octogonal unit had a breathtaking view of Amish farmland. The unit is compact but very well designed and extremely comfortable, and we really enjoyed the fireplace. We were delighted to find the unit stocked with wonderful cinnamon rolls, jams, juice and more! Every element was tasteful and the innkeepers thought of everything from reading material to a selection of CDs to a snuggly afghan. While the unit has an oven, microwave, frig and outdoor grille, we ate lunches and dinner out and particularly enjoyed a wonderful gourmet dinner at the nearby Inn at Honey Run. If we had visited in summer, I would have enjoyed cooking steaks on the grill and lounging on the deck. We did see many, many stars on our first evening. The sound of horse-drawn buggys clip-clopping by occasionally added to the atmosphere. We were within an easy drive of many attractions and Warther's was our favorite. Visiting off-season allowed us to avoid the crowds. Our mini-vacation was a perfect blend of interesting things to do and time to just relax. We'll definitely be back!

My husband and I decided to treat ourselves with a little romantic trip before Christmas. I knew that I wanted to go to Amish Country and do some shopping so I decided to look online and book a place for us to stay. While looking for places online, Holmes with a View really stuck with me and it looked like a very nice place to get some well deserved rest and relaxation! We got more than what we were looking for. We could not have been happier with our stay and our accomodations! We were more than comfortable and very much at home in our suite, not to mention that extras that Paul and Miriam provide in your room such as fresh baked bread and cinnamon rolls, a nice DVD selection, and the Bath & Body Works soap and lotion! We know that we want to take a trip down to Amish Country again in the fall and we already know where we will be staying! I recommend this place to everyone and pass out Holmes with a View brochures all the time!

I am looking forward to my next trip, hope to go back in the spring.

Holmes With A View is not given justice by the photos. It is much better in person, and the View from our suite was fabulous! Also, Paul and Miriam were wonderful to deal with! They not only satisfied our requests, but they also offered information about the area and activities taking place, which made our stay even more enjoyable. Marsha S.

Our room was beautiful! Wooden floors, the peaceful sound of Amish buggies going past on the country road nearby, comfortable furniture. The only thing I would change is we were in the building closest to the neighbors and they had a dog that barked a lot - it was quiet at night, though

The breakfast provided was cinnamon roll, orange juice and bread left in the apartment for you.
It's certainly understandable that a guest might be disappointed were he to expect a full course hot breakfast. Holmes with a View is not your typical B&B in that the Innkeepers do not live on site, but rather a very short distance away, and we provide "Continental" breakfast items already in the suite upon the guest's arrival. This is stated on our web site. When given the opportunity, this is also explained when potential guests make telephone or email enquiries. (We are sometimes classified as an "Inn" or "cottages".) We provide coffee (reg & decaf)/cream, assorted teas, hot chocolate, orange juice, homemade bread and cinnamon rolls from local Amish bakeries, butter and homemade freezer jam. Microwave popcorn is also provided for snacking. We are also happy to accommodate anyone with dietary restrictions if given that info in advance of the reservation. Our suites also provide fully-equipped kitchens for those who would like to supplement the food items already available to them. Two restaurants are within a mile of our facility and we do also offer specials with breakfast included at local restaurants. Thanks for choosing to stay with us and for reviewing Holmes with a View

We have a few favorite destinations. Holmes county is definitely one of them. Holmes with a View is the perfect Amish country get-a-way. The clip-clop of the passing buggies combined with the pastoral setting and amazing view of the countryside can remove you from the bustle of everyday life in mere seconds once. We've stayed there twice and will return again!

Paul & Miriam, we want to say thank you for the most perfect place to saty. This was our first visit to Holmes with a View and definetly will not be our last. Everything was just perfect, from the gorgeous vie on the wrap around deck, to the awesome suite itself. We didn't want to leave. It was so peaceful and relaxing. The only sound heard from time to time was a buggy passing thru from time to time and even that to us was relaxing to hear. I think about our visit almost every day and can't wait to come back and stay longer. The people were friendly, the places easy to get to. There is not enough words to express how much we loved our stay. Thank you both for the perfect get away. Hope to see you soon. P.S. we are recommending Holmes with a view to everyone.

We went for the weekend just to get away, on the recommendation of a friend. It was the most unique place we had every been to. The "apartment" was absolutely spotless! It had all modern, upscale amenities...granite countertops, kohler bath, etc. 360 degree wrap-around porch gives you a view for miles and miles. (We kept saying we felt like we were sitting in the middle of a jigsaw puzzle.) Farmland and wildlife all around us. Just breath taking. Perfectly located so that we could go to all the little towns to shop, eat, walk, and chat with the people who are lucky enough to live there. We absolutely did not want to leave. I felt that the cost was very very reasonable considering the size of the place and the quality of the facility. Just a beautiful weekend. One we will not forget for a long time. Truely a slice of heaven for us. A gift!

Four couples from three different states met for a reunion and were more than happy with our stay, our accommodations. our view and our hosts. It was a perfect and convenient place to get together. The location was right in the middle of what we wanted to do and where we wanted to go. We couldn't have asked for anything more and would return in a minute !! One member of the group even wrote an "Ode" regarding our visit which will go right along with our picture albums.

This was our first stay at Holmes with a View. The two bedroom house was perfect since we had another couple with us. We were able to relax and enjoy the evening even though the electric went out with the terrible storm. We had an oil lamp and candles by which we played cards through the evening. We are planning another trip in the fall and will definitely stay again.

Two couples stayed for 2 nights early in June. Our visit though short, was relaxing with all the comforts of home. This was our second visit to Holmes With a View, which is quickly becoming our peaceful haven, that "home-away-from-home" place to relax, unwind, and commune with God's masterpiece of gently rolling hills and a slower pace from our everyday lives. Thank you, Paul & Miriam, for creating such a restful and unique oasis where we can recharge our batteries from time to time. From a practical standpoint, we would offer up a suggestion: to our middle-aged spines, it seemed as if the mattress we slept on has gotten beyond its useful life. A firmer mattress without the "sway" in the middle would have made our latest visit even more perfect.
Thank you so much for your kind comments regarding your recent stay. We also appreciate very much your letting us know about the mattress. If you could, please let us know which suite it was so we will know which mattress to replace. The comfort of our guests is of utmost importance to us and this problem will be addressed immediately.

We found Holmes With A View to be a wonderful place for relaxation. The suite was extremely spacious with an open and airy feel. The decor was clean and classic, with lovely simple touches. Nothing was overly "fussy". All the furniture was very comfortable, especially the bed! The kitchen was very well supplied and easy to cook in. There were cinnamon rolls and a loaf of fresh bread provided for breakfast. The fridge was stocked with butter and jam for toast as well as cream for coffee/tea. There was an extensive DVD collection as well as a lot of TV channels via satellite. The only problem we had was that we could not figure out how to turn on the fireplace, and did not want to bother Paul and Miriam at 10 at night for such a little thing. The view was indeed lovely and we thoroughly enjoyed watching the horses in the pasture on the hill below. The best part of the stay however was the privacy. Holmes was extremely private and peaceful. We wanted a place to get away from everything, and found that at Holmes with a View!

My friend and I went for a weekend retreat away from the hustle and bustle of our everyday life and our jobs. This place was like a breath of fresh air. Everything was perfect and peaceful. The hospitality and food were the greatest and we could not have been more pleased. We were so pleased that we booked another retreat for the fall. We had everything we needed for a delightful stay. The cleanliness was superb. A great place for a quiet get-away.

The four of us good friends love flea-marketing, antiquing, etc. and made a one-day trip down to Amish country last year. As we were driving, we saw a sign posted for pottery. We took off down the trail and passed these wonderful units. We all immediately screamed "we need to come back and stay here"! - which is exactly what we did this year. What a wonderful experience! It felt as if we had returned home after a trip. Fresh-baked bread and cinnamon rolls waiting in the kitchen; charming decor to relax in; and a view that doesn't quit! We are planning on going back next year in the Fall to enjoy the foilage. Thanks Miriam and Paul!

My husband and I recently spent a couple of days at Holmes With a View. This was a return visit after quite a few years and we were not disappointed by the passing of years. We had originally booked for one night and then decided that we needed to treat ourselves to a second night but found that the same 1 bedroom suite we had requested was not available the second night. Miriam Grossi, one of our hosts graciously put us in a 2 bedroom suite (much larger)for the 2 nights and just locked one of the bedrooms. From the minute we arrived it was a wonderful 2 days. Luscious Amish cinnamon rolls, bread, Amish jam, juice and coffee were in the frig. for our breakfast plus all the snacks one could possibly want. The decor of the suite is eclectic with the use of muted greens with accent colors that blend right into the wrap-a-round view of the Amish Doughty Valley below us. Creature comforts abound with plump sofas and pillows, plush towels, Amish crafted cherry kitchen cabinets, a comfy bed, TV, cable, VCR-DVD players with remotes and a nice deep jacuzzi tub. We thoroughly enjoyed the clip-clop sound of the Amish buggys on the road above us and very little other sound. If you are looking for a place to recharge your batteries and pamper yourself by doing just what you want, I highly recommend the oasis Paul and Miriam Grossi have created at Holmes With a View!

Greeted by homemade cinnamon rolls. We knew that if we needed something, you would be very accomodating, yet you respected our privacy so much, that we never feel as though our space is being invaded. My husband took me to Holmes co. for my birthday, and we decided to stay at Holmes with a View. I was very much surprised. I had many reservations about our lodging. I'm the type of person who doesn't want the bed and breakfast thing, staying in a stranger home is not for me. But this was so much different. We both got much needed rest and enjoyed the Amish and their lifestyles. Mr and Mrs Grossi are wonderful inn keepers. The home was exceptionally clean and neat, they provided us with snacks etc. Again it was a wonderful experience.

Loved the view! Loved how remote and private it felt-we had whole house to ourselves. Rooms are beautiful. We had house with hot tub outside. Had really enjoyable relaxing time. Instead of staying one night we should've stayed couple of nights. This what we are going to do next time. We felt sorry to leave.

What a lovely view it was when we arrived...both inside and outside. The furnishings and cleanliness were top notch. There were even fresh bread and cinnamon rolls awaiting us in the kitchen. And the view overlooking the valley was so serene...we wish we could have stayed longer. I brought my mother and aunt as an early Mother's Day present...they were so happy with the accommodations. I would suggest reserving a top floor unit, though, because I could hear alot of noise above my bedroom since we were on the lower level. We definitely plan to return!

My husband and I stayed here for his birthday in May. We have stayed in Ohio's Amish country before at several other places, but have not yet found a place that we immediately said we would go back to. I think we finally did! Starting with the booking process, the owners (Paul and Miriam) were fantastic about answering questions (email and telephone) and doing everything they could to make it a special trip for us. When we got there, our room was just as it looked online at the website - beautiful! In the kitchen area, the owners were wonderful and left us various snacks and breakfast items, allowing us to sleep in as late as we wanted and not worry that we would miss breakfast. They left us fresh baked cinnamon rolls, fresh Amish bread, orange juice, water, coffee and tea, along with various jellies and butter and also hot chocolate & microwave popcorn. The in room jacuzzi was incredible (there is no view from this jacuzzi though (Suite #6) so that was the ONLY thing I would change). There is a flat screen TV in the room where they left instructions for all the channels received (around 100) as well as about 20 DVD movies for us. Go figure that my favorite movie was there!! Our suite also had the only outdoor hottub. You do have to go outside onto your deck for the hottub, but it was worth it. Once you are there, it is very private and overlooks the Amish countryside. The bed was very comfortable and waking up in the morning surrounded by the view was just incredible. We will definitely go back!!!

What a wonderful place to enjoy the beautiful scenery and really relax. Our suite was just beautiful and the views our of every window were so pretty. We spent 5 hours into the evening just sitting on the balcony, relaxing, enjoying the birds and beautiful view for miles. We have stayed several other places in this area, but found this to be the most enjoyable.

It is a very peaceful setting. The decor is very cozy in each of the three suites we stayed in. Love the baked goods from the local Amish bakeries that are waiting for you when you arrive. We were lucky enough to catch a great view of the sunrise as well as the views of the rolling hills. The owners go out of their way to make you feel at home and include many little extras. One of the few places we can go to get away and feel completely relaxed,

We have stayed at Holmes with a view 4 times and loved every visit. During the summer months there are more local activities. Very relaxing! Paul & Miriam are great folks.

The situation of these rooms overlooking the peaceful countryside is ideal for a weekend of retreat from stress and bustle. The town of Charm is indeed charming, and in this cozy retreat you can feel trivial aggravations washing away. The rooms themselves are modern and minimalistic, very comfortable.

The room was very clean and cozy. Decorated beautifully. The view was spectacular and the hosts were awesome. We stayed on a weekend where we were snowed in, and the hosts brought food to everyone that was there....spaghetti and meatballs, fresh peaches, cake....they went above and beyond and it was very appreciated. We look forward to our next trip back.

Whether your looking for a place to get away from the children or just a breath taking view, you have found it. Paul and Miriam know how to treat guest and make you feel like you are family. Their B&B has all the accomodations of home and a view you won't soon forget. My wife of 17 years and I fell in love with Holmes with a View and each other all over again. Don't forget to ask about a massage, their pricing is outstanding.

Holmes with a View is truely wonderful. We have been twice now and plan to go back many more times. The owner's are fabulous - from the home made strawberry jam to the awesome suites they provide - you could not ask for anything more. The suites are super clean, very spacious yet very comfortable. Holmes with a View is the perfect get a way when you need a break from the hustle of the city and life. We have and will continue to recommend HWAV to our friends and family.

Holmes with a View was far above what my husband and I expected. We knew from the pictures it would be a nice place, but when you walked into the home, it felt like you belonged. Everything was just right and the view was breathtaking. The next morning was wonderful because the juice was fresh, and the homemade bread and jam was wonderful. We enjoyed eating breakfast and drinking our coffee overlooking the countryside. We really hated to leave, but are planning on visiting in the summer.

We ave stayed at "Holmes with a View" twice and our visits were wonderful. Paul and Mariam are gratious hosts. They remembered us from the first time we stayed which was a year before our second visit. The view and the "View" is spectacular. Quiet, peaceful, clean and accommodating. We loved every minute of it.

This is the place I chose to share with my 4 daughters as a girls' weekend. My husband and I have been there several times and found Holmes with a View spectacular. When my 24 year old daughter was accepted to the Peace Corps for 27 months, I was determined to have a weekend that we would all remember. Holmes with a view was PERFECT !!! I can't even begin to tell you the memories we savored and the wonderful times we shared. Only know that as a mother....I will cherish this time that I had with my adult daughters.
