Garden Gate Getaway is a beautiful b&b. We stayed at the b&b with friends and attended a wine tasting that Carol & Herb organized. This is the way to go, you can drink all you want and Herb will make sure you get back to the b&b safe and sound. (they have a bus and drive you for the wine tasting/dinner)

5 out of 5Overnight in Amish country
November 22, 2012
We had occasion to travel to the Amish country, however had only one day so we booked our room with the extra tour offered by Garden Gate Get-A-Way. In just two hours we were able to learn SO MUCH about the Amish as Herb is a wonderful tour guide. Suggestions offered by Carol complemented the tour and we enjoyed lunch in town at a real Amish cafe and dinner in the home of a charming Amish family. She was even able to give us directions to a store which carried the exact items we were looking for. The B&B itself is just lovely. The pictures do not do it justice and the breakfast was WONDERFUL. Thanks a million Herb & Carol. Hope to return.

Great time. From the moment we arrived until we left everything was perfect. The room was beautifully decorated and extremly clean. Breakfast was delicious (I had seconds). Knowledgable help with planning the days activities and the nightly fire is so relaxing. Our compliments to Carol and Herb they have thought of everything and make sure your trip is always one to remember. We can't wait to return.

The cottage was beautiful! It was a great place to stay inorder to unwind and relax. I wish the weather had been better (it rained the whole time) but that just made it even more cozier. Will definitely be visiting again. The breakfasts were delicious and the cookies were amazing. Thank you for creating such a warm and welcome atmosphere.
4.4 out of 5Best Bed & Breakfast Experience we have ever had

I had just about given up on B&B's but this one had renewed my belief in them. I loved the nightly campfire and the information about the are that was given from the owners was so helpful. It has been a very great stay and I would recommend this place to anyone.

Special Package
Culture, Customs & Cuisine: Amish Country Weekend
This weekend package allows you plenty of time to shop and explore on your own, but on Saturday afternoon we have a special dinner tour planned. You will start with a 3-hour Amish Culture Tour where you will learn how the Amish live in Church Communities and what that means, about their education, how they live and work without electricity and more. Along the route we'll make stops at Amish-owned businesses for you to shop. You will end the evening by having dinner with one of our Amish neighbors. This dinner tour is offered exclusively to guests staying at our B&B so you will have a small group with a more intimate setting than other large bus tours in our area.
Murder Mysteries
Murder in the Mediterranean Mystery Weekend This weekend we're going to sail away to the Mediterranean on a cruise ship. You are a crew member and the Captain has summoned some of the crew to his table for dinner. He announces that one of the crew has been murdered and you are a suspect. Will you be the entertainer? The Chorus Girl? The Casino Dealer? The Massage Therapist? Everyone has a motive and you must work together to solve this mystery. The murder mystery is played in rounds where a progressive meal will be served.
A Bit Of Amish Country
See Amish Country as you've never seen it before . . . on our own tour bus. Guests at our bed and breakfast can take a 2-hour back road tour and learn all about how the Amish live. We'll point out things on Amish farms, give you picture taking opportunties, and make a couple of stops at Amish-owned businesses for you to shop. This tour is offered Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10 a.m. or by appointment. Cost is $29 pp

Garden Gate Get-A-Way Bed & Breakfast Video: Garden Gate Get-A-Way B&B is definitely the lodging choice for Nature Lovers! Picture this ...You pull in the driveway to check-in and see horses grazing in the neighboring field. On the way to your guest room you catch a glimpse of a Monarch butterfly floating along the flower-lined path. You stop to take in the country setting by sitting on a porch swing and see a hummingbird bouncing from flower to flower in the gardens. After some rest and relaxation you stroll over to the apple trees and now you get approached by the neighboring horses. You pluck a couple of apples off of the tree and feed them to the horses. That evening, when you return from dinner, you see flames dancing in the fire ring as you drive up the road. You walk up the flower-lined pathway to your guest rooms and are greeted by your innkeepers as they welcome you to come and unwind at the evening campfire. You grab some coffee, hot chocolate or maybe even a glass of wine and come to the fire ring which is situated in the middle of the gardens. As the sun starts to set you notice fire flies dancing around the yard and hear a concert from the birds in the area singing to you. As time passes by you hear the gentle clopping of horse hooves as an Amish buggy passes down the road.
