    Innkeepers

    • Innkeeper(s): Judy and Mike Tann
Mike, retired Huron City Manager, & Judy, a 'retired' professional, both enjoy people and hosting social events. They take great pleasure in music, reading, walking, volunteering...and their 2 adult sons. And since Mike has a Celtic heritage and the blarney that goes along with it, the Irish influence is evidenced in the home including the lilting strains of Emerald Isle music

    Review Captain Montague's, Huron, OH

    Photo Album

As you enter the Captain's foyer, your are immediately struck by the high ceilings and the beautiful hand-crafted solid black walnut staircase leading to three of the guest rooms.
Captain Montague's wife Sarah was an accomplished musician. We are proud to have a vintage 1880 totally restored pump organ in our Irish Victorian parlor. We do invite our guests to pump and play.In January of 1999 the Captain's parlor received a total make-over. As is evident, you can see that we wanted an Irish Victorian parlor. Victorian colors were strong and bold; thus our very green room! Our guests find it quite inviting.
Our guests thoroughly enjoy this cozy nook in the dining room. In January 2000 this room was totally restored including taking down a false ceiling to expose the beautiful original plaster crown molding. (new photo coming soon) The dining room can seat 14 guests.Jenny's room, our bridal/anniversary suite, is a fairytale setting furnished in wicker and lace. Any prince charming would slay dragons to bring his princess to this romantic hide-away tucked in a very private part of the Captain's.
Sarah's Room, named in honor of the Captain's wife, captures the imagination and memories of a quieter, less hurried time. The original fireplace and mantel with its ceramic tile is the room's centerpiece.Molly's Room was the first room to be remodeled including a name change. (Molly is a very precious name to our family.) The soft lavenders, pale greens, and white eyelet are soothing to the eye and the soul. This room can be either a king bed or two twin beds.
Appropriately, our most masculinely decorated room is named in honor of the Captain himself. The four-poster queen bed compliments the high ceilings. The chandelier is the original lighting fixture (gas then, of course)that was in the parlor.Edith's Room, named in honor of the Captain's daughter, is a cheery and our brightest room as it has an eastern exposure and the morning sun. You'll find this room up the front stairs.
