  • This spacious parlor with its leaded glass window, winding oak stairway, player piano, and cozy fireplace invites weary guests to linger, admire, and relax in tranquility.
The gentle curve of the stairway leads to four restful guestrooms on the second floor.
The original stained-glass window overlooks the dining room, full of exquisite quarter-sawn furniture. Guests admire and dine under the room's original brass chandelier, while reflecting on the history of the 115-year-old home.
The Innkeepers' Welsh and English heritage is celebrated in the Pub. Authentic Pub collectibles surround the room from floor to ceiling, providing a calming atmosphere in which to work, read, play board games and relax.
The King Bed Suite is "The Rose's" most romantic guestroom, with its spacious surroundings, luxurious furnishings, stained-glass window, and convenient bath. A sitting area with twin recliners provides work space for business executives, as well.
The restful queen bedroom is chosen for its calming color palette in shades of teal, peach and taupe. In addition, guests have abundant storage in the large-scale "Waterfall" furniure and walk-in closet; a must for long-term visits.
The Bird's-eye maple bedroom suite dominating this guestroom is breathtaking in its quality. Travelers appreciate the peacefulness and privacy the room provides, along with its spacious, convenient bathroom nearby.
Mahogany furniture pieces shine against the simplicity of the soft colors in this cozy guestroom. Though modest in price, all the amenities of fine lodging are included, of course.
Art deco upholstered furniture brings back memories of an earlier era, but guests relax and stay current with cable TV, VCR/DVD and necessary movies, along with daily newspapers. The guests' office is adjacent to this lovely room, though high-speed wireless Internet is also available to everyone, anywhere in the house.

This elegant Victorian, built by a local doctor 120 years ago, features fine oak woodwork, original stained, leaded glass windows, winding staircase, period furniture and a player piano. The former doctor's office has been transformed into a cozy den with cable TV, VCR/DVD collection, and reading materials. Desks are available in the secluded octagonal office, and in "The Pub", with its rich oak wainscoting, molded tin ceiling, and English Pub collectibles. Business travelers appreciate free high-speed wireless Internet service anywhere in the house. Certainly, hot and cold beverages, bottled water, and snacks are available anytime. The convenient location in Historic Uptown Galion, large secure, well-lighted parking area, quiet central A/C, and flexible breakfast schedules complete this exquisite bed and breakfast visit.

    Finest-Ever Experience at a B&B

    April 29, 2013

This is an immaculate, gorgeously restored 1889 home, to which I would go out of my way at least an hour or two to stay at again. Marge Sherron goes out of her way to be welcoming, helpful and hospitable without "prying." My second-floor room in the "turret," with private bath, was spotless and spacious, colorfully decorated in sort of a '40s style, which "worked" (and the bath was quite up-to-date). Marge served a Sunday-morning egg casserole, bundt cake and freshly mixed fruit, plus really good coffee. On top of all this, I asked to be able to come back to change clothes at 3 p.m. on my departure date before I hit the road, and this was no problem at all. Call the Sherrons if you're needing accommodations between Columbus and Toledo -- you'll absolutely be glad you did.

    Home Away from Home

    August 08, 2011

This was my 4th visit to the Rose of Sherron...it truly has become my "home away from home" during my annual visit to the races at Mid Ohio. Marge is not only a WONDERFUL hostess but has also become a friend. When I hear my friends at the track complain about their accommodations, the daily commute time to the track, and the costs...I am SO THANKFUL I found this wonderful B&B. VERY reasonable in price, comfort, and distance to Mid Ohio!

Don't miss a chance to stay at The Rose

    November 11, 2010

My husband and I had the very great pleasure of staying at The Rose last weekend. A family emergency caused us to make last minute reservations and Mrs. Sherron was happy to accommodate us. We have never stayed in a more beautiful, tastefully appointed B&B. Each room is meticulously clean and every possible detail is attended to. The comfort of their guests is of paramount importance to the Sherrons and that commitment shines through in every room. In fact our whole family is planning a trip back in the spring and we plan to rent out the entire house! Don't miss this opportunity to enjoy Victorian charm combined with modern day comfort.

    February 2010 visit

    April 10, 2010

What a fabulous getaway in my hometown of Galion, Ohio. While visiting family in February of this year, me and my boyfriend stayed two wonderful nights in a quaint little oasis in the heart of the town. My expectations were far exceeded in terms of cleanliness, space, amenities, and hospitality. This place is the best of the old and the new and I only wish some of the beautiful antiques were up for sale ! Marge was the perfect host and very flexible with our schedules. We had breakfast both mornings - she is a fabulous cook ! One recommendation I have for the website, is to state that breakfast is not included in the room rate. Still a great value, a great atmosphere, a great experience and I will definitely be back. Thanks Marge for everything. N&M
