Loved my stay!

This is the 2nd year I have taken my husband there for his birthday, this year he was 50yrs old on Friday the 13th. Lots of great places to eat and drink within walking distance. The rooms are so comfortable, and relaxing. Will definitely be going back!

Mother's Day Weekend in The Roost

5 on May 10, 2016

Spent a lovely weekend in one of the J Palen House offsite properties, The Roost. Everything was so comfortable and pretty, especially the patio area where we enjoyed breakfast on Saturday morning and wine on Saturday night. Lots of good advice about the neighborhood from Diane, and pleasant company in the main house for Sunday brunch. Highly recommend, and we hope to return to try more of the great restaurants in the historic district.

Great Stay

J. Palen was recommended to us by my brother and sister-in-law and now we are recommending this to anyone reading these reviews! It is within walkable distance to fun and interesting food establishments (The Velvet Tango Room for drinks and The Flying Fig for dinner). The warm welcome to J. Palen with the opportunity to warm up our own breakfast since not staying at the main house was great. The care taken in decorating is noticeable and is a delight!!

Personalized Service

The service, whether meeting us at the house to allow an early check in, discussing the various entertainment options, or making a fantastic Sunday brunch was outstanding. This was our second time at the J Palen House and it did not disappoint. Anyone traveling to Cleveland would be hard pressed to find a better location for a Bed & Breakfast than the J Palen House. Minutes away from great dining options as well as some unique entertainment this B&B is the place to stay.

Amazing Experience

Me and my boyfriend decided to stay here in the retreat as a part of our staycation during our 1 year anniversary weekend. I must say this was the perfect place to stay and it made our weekend really special. Diane was awesome and she made us feel well taken care of and welcomed. She also makes the most delicious breakfasts. And the breakfasts were different each day of our stay. The room was always clean and the whirlpool tub was phenomenal! It is unlike any hotel experience I've ever had. I would and have recommended this b & b to every1 i know and i also plan to stay again. You won't regret it.

On a recent trip to Cleveland to visit the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, my husband and I reserved a room at the J. Palen House. It was perfect! Spacious, beautifully decorated, immaculately clean with a cozy feel. The Inn keeper/owner Diane thought of everything from emails before our stay to available wine glasses and yummy complimentary pastries upon our return from a long day. Diane is very personable and a wealth of knowledge about the Cleveland area, points of interest, and places to dine. We absolutely loved our stay and would recommend the J. Palen house to anyone visiting the Cleveland area.

Peaceful stay

We just got back from a night at the Inn. We stayed in the retreat in the loft. The room was beautiful and immaculate. We did not get up for breakfast and did not meet the Innkeepers. We were on out own and really didn't require any extra attention. We were able to get into our room early and we were greeted by a wonderfully pleasant woman showed us to our room down the street to the separate home called the Loft. it was a simple stay and we were in walking distance to wonderful restaurants, bars and markets. We look forward to returning very soon.

Two night stay - City B&B

Everything was as stated. Very comfortable - accommodating, friendly and helpful hosts. Very nice rooms, excellent food. Appreciated the complimentary soft drinks and snacks.

Wonderful Weekend!

5 on May 22, 2014

Our son and daughter in law treated us to a weekend in Ohio City for our wedding anniversary including dinner, a play, and tickets to the Indians game. The J Palen house was our “home” for the weekend. And it really felt like home. The rooms were clean, well decorated, and comfortable. The West Side Market, shops, and many good restaurants are within walking distance. Diane (the owner) was like family. She treated the guests to an upscale breakfast each morning. And she always made time to sit and visit. It felt like we were saying goodbye to a friend the day we checked out. We are already talking about a return visit and will definitely be staying at the J Palen house! –Brad and Beckey
