At the end of June, 2011 & based on my cousin's recommendation who lives a block from her, we stayed with Nancy, a very friendly innkeeper with great stories about the house. We were looking at the University of Cincinnati (walking distance from Clifton House) and so needed enough room for my son and my husband and myself. The third floor (which had been Nancy's own apartment for many years) was our personal space. It was four rooms and a bath--a real deal for the price. The breakfasts were lovely and the little amenities she'd thought of (such as a fresh brewed coffee set up on the 2nd floor for early morning risers and a great selection of magazines) made it a place we'll return to when visiting family or especially if my son goes to UC.

    What a great place!

We stay at Clifton House whenever we are in Cincinnati. The owners pamper each and every guest. The house itself is beautiful and impeccably clean. The breakfasts are delicious. From homemade brownies, cookies, or other treats upon arrival, to a refrigerator stocked full of free snacks and sodas upstairs, the innkeepers make sure you are well fed and well taken care of. We thoroughly enjoy our visits.

The Clifton House is a beautiful home, with fine architectural details in a central Cincinnati location. We have stayed at The Clifton House twice now, once in the Clifton Cottage (which my mother describes as “Hansel & Gretel’s Cottage”) and once in the main house in the New Orleans and Tuxedo rooms. Our stay in the cottage was the first time we were not able to stay with family in Cincinnati, but Nancy and Gus are wonderful hosts and made us feel most welcome. The young woman who comes in to cook in the morning is a talented chef, and the breakfasts are extraordinary! I’m sure we will stay at The Clifton House again, and I highly recommend it.

The best bed and breakfast by far

My husband, brother, and sister stayed in three of the rooms at this fine bed and breakfast. My sister had the garden room, which had a rooftop garden in which we socialized. We were delighted and impressed. Everything was top notch (except the coffee)but that was remedied easily by a quick walk to town (5 minutes). A beautiful place and lovely hosts.
