Ideally located just across the street from Kenyon College, The Gambier House, with 5 bedrooms and an attached suite, has been lovingly restored and decorated. It features a formal parlor, family room, fireplaces, antiques and hidden staircases. Enjoy the tranquility of the weeping cherry courtyard or watch the world go by on a front porch rocker. The Gambier House was a perfect spot to stay while visiting our daughter at Kenyon. This stay was in the Carriage House, which was a comfortable suite, with its own sitting room and small kitchen. The bed was very comfortable, and despite the subzero temps outside, we were warm inside. We had (as always) the most delicious breakfast. The B&B is in the heart of town and right across the street from the Kenyon academic buildings (I was closer than my daughter's dorm). Betsy knows the town and gives great suggestions for dinner, etc. They have a great little parking area right behind the house, and you can walk anywhere in town with ease. All in all, I highly recommend the Gambier House!!

Spent one night for a mother-daughter college visit. We stayed in the green Room which has two double beds. The beds were comfortable. The private bath was small but very clean and completely adequate. The room has reading lights by both beds and throw rugs. A chair to sit on would be a nice addition. Sitting in the room is bed-only. The temperature would have been chilly but our innkeeper provided a modern space heater with a thermostat and we were very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. It's very nice to have access to snacks and beverages in the evening. The parlors and library on the first floor are pleasant for sitting and reading or using the computer provided for guests. The location is perfect for a college visit to Kenyon. The walk to the admissions office is one block or less.

Great central location in Gambier, within easy walking distance to anything in town. Everything was in great order and the house is wonderfully old and quirky. The innkeeper was very accommodating and helpful. French toast was great.

We stayed in the old library, which was beautifully furnished and clean. The fireplace is a lovely touch, but the hearth sticks up and without a lot of room around the bed, made us nervous about tripping. I also prefer a bedside light so that I can read at night, but the light in this room was above the bed and one one switch (not a problem if you have a kindle). The service is fantastic, and the innkeeper is delightful. Breakfast was outstanding and different each day. The patio is lovely to look at in winter and we have also enjoyed sitting out there for drinks in warm weather.

We stayed during Thanksgiving and were greeted by the wonderful owner/manager Betsy Heer who looked after our every needs. The rooms are comfortable and spacious. The converted large house is charming with respect to a hotel experience. From the great morning coffee and homemade pumpkin scones (on Thanksgiving) our every comfort was looked after. Overall, a great experience.

My son and I had a great stay here while visiting Kenyon College. The owner was very accommodating, and the house lovely and perfectly located fright across the street from the school. An unexpected surprise was the benefit of sitting around the breakfast table with others in various stages of the admissions process-including an admissions director from another school. Delicious food and valuable conversation. This is the kind of experience you just can't get at a hotel.
