Great place to stay in Columbus and a great host

    January 09, 2013

We spent five nights in Roger's Guest House over Christmas. We rented the entire space which worked well for two couples. Roger was great to work with during the reservation process and after we arrived. I would definitely stay there again. Although we did not do any cooking, the kitchen is very well equipped. The house is close to a park, grocery store and restaurants and would be quite walkable during a warmer season. I recommend this rental. I cannot really give a dining score, but I believe Roger is a chef and saw wonderful cookbooks in his house. I am sure if he cooked for you the food would be great.

    Wonderful Stay at Vivas

    December 17, 2012

My friend and I had the most wonderful stay at the Vivas guest house. Like other reviews have mentioned, we too had the whole place to ourselves. The home is beautifully decorated and Roger is so accommodating and welcoming. The description of the location and local restaurants scene is accurate and we so enjoyed ourselves, having arrived on the day of the local neighborhood holiday evening celebration. It is a very walkable and lovely neighborhood and we easily were able to get to downtown in minutes to catch a concert at the Palace theater. Will plan to stay here again!!

Clean, comfortable and well located. This is a finely appointed, eclectic inn. The space is only topped by the friendliness and accomodating manner of the innkeeper - Roger Vivas.

A gem in the middle of a wonderful neighborhood

    December 15, 2012

We came for a weekend and felt right at home. Roger was extremely attentive and very knowledgable of the city. For breakfast, he made the best coffee I have ever tried from Brioso, a local roaster and made delicious "arepas" (a Venezuelan type of bread....) This will certainly be my destination whenever i town!!!!

    Great Amenities for Price

    November 22, 2012

The amenities at Vivas Guest House delightfully exceeded my expectations! We had use of an entire house - dining room, living room with entertainment system, fully supplied kitchen, and 1.5 bathrooms - for a very affordable rate. (Also free wireless.) It is nestled in a beautiful neighborhood - felt safe the whole time - and downtown Columbus was very accessible - just 1.5 miles away. Roger was a great host - very nice and accommodating! Not a true "bed and breakfast" as there was not a set breakfast component, but still very pleased with the overall experience. I look forward to returning to Columbus and staying here again.

    Clean, affordable and great location

    October 03, 2012

Very quaint neighborhood and very walkable. Roger, the innkeeper was kind and accommodating at best. We arrived at 1:30 am and he still had a smile in his face. Gave us recommendations about where to go and even drove us to a couple of places! The Guest House is very quiet and charming, nicely decorated with a cute backyard. Very clean and neat. Looking forward to staying again!!

    like home!!

    September 24, 2012

We stayed for a weekend in August in the Vivas's guest house in the historic neighborhood, German village. The house is absolutely clean and beautiful; Roger is a fabulous hostes; we spent quite a bit of time chatting with him while he was making a wonderful dinner for my husband and I. We stayed at a beautiful decorated room with a canopy overhead. If you have to be in Columbus and want to feel like you're at home, stay at the Vivas guest house. You won't regret it!
