Storybook Bunkhouse

Our family had to make a last minute trip to the area and found the Storybook Bunkhouse through recommendation from another B&B's manager. Paula, the owner, was not only helpful, but friendly and made our stay a great experience. We stayed at the 1-bedroom house fully equipped with washer/dryer, in suite bathroom, a small kitchen with dining area and a living room. The bed was so incredibly comfortable, and the sheets and comforter - I wanted to ask her where she bought those so I could get some for our house. Paula provided us with french bread, muffins and fresh fruits. There was a coffee maker, water and orange juice in the fridge. The owner's hospitality and the charm of the home will definitely bring us back again! Thank you Paula!

We thoroughly enjoyed our extended stay in the bunkhouse. Paula is a wonderful hostess who takes excellent care of her clients and the accommodations are great! Having a full kitchen and a washer and dryer was an enormous help and gave us a lot of flexibility. If you are looking for an outstanding place to stay in the country, we certainly recommend the Storybook Bunkhouse!

Great place at a Great Rate. What a wonderful get away for the winter. The hospitality was wonderful. Watching the snow fall from the windows in the evening was beautiful. We are looking forward to coming back.

My parents and I were visiting family in the area and rented the bunkhouse and the studio altogether. It was a perfect fit. Paula was so gracious, was ready with food for breakfast, and was always just a phone call away. We had a great time and I'd highly recommend it.

Paula was a gracious host and the bunkhouse was so comfortable I hated to leave. If your in the Chardon area you need to check in at this place and you'll be glad you did...

We stayed in the studio for several days while visiting family in the area, and were very pleased with the accommodations. The room and bathroom were clean and comfortable, and the location is very quiet and peaceful. Paula provided a variety of fresh fruits, cereals, pastries, and beverages that made it easy for us to breakfast at our leisure, which was very nice. The entrance through the garage was a little off-putting the first time, but once we saw how nice the room was, that wasn't an issue. We ended up returning for a couple of extra nights because we were so pleased with the studio, and plan to stay again next year for our annual visit in the area!

Never had such a warm welcome, although we travelled a lot in the States! Paula Horbay makes the B & B a unique addres to stay in a peacefull farm in wonderfull Geauga Amish county. It was great! Fam. Niels Bakker, Hengelo, Netherlands.

My husband and I, along with our two best friends (also a couple), go on an anniversary trip together every year, and this year we stayed at Paula Horbay's Storybook Bunkhouse. It was perfect for us because in the bunkhouse there are two bedrooms and two baths, so we could be together while also having plenty of privacy. It's also super convenient and economical to have the little kitchen and the washer/dryer combo. Paula is an attentive, charming, personable and entertaining hostess and we had a wonderful time getting to know each other. We found travel to the local points of interest easy and picturesque - no trouble getting to and from the airport in good time, as well. Paula is extremely knowlegable about local events and the area in general. We went everywhere from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame to the famous Amish store Lehmans with Storybook as our home base. In the mornings the lilacs were blooming, gorgeous and fragrant, and in the evening we barbecued on the outdoor grill and just had the best time. Thanks Paula!!

We really enjoyed our stay in the Studio Rooms of the Storybook Bunk House. The large picture window gave us a wonderful view of the wood and wildlife of Geauga County. Our host Paula was most gracious in helping us with restaurant and walking opportunities in Chardon and beyond. It was a wonderful experience. Al & Carol Weiler 8/13/09

A wonderful story for the Storybook Ranch. A boyfriend from 8 years ago and I took the wonderful leap to meet up with each other after so long. The Storybook Ranch was the halfway point for both of us. This was probably one of the best spuratic decisions I have ever made in my life. I had arrived before my better half and the owner was a lovely woman. She had made sure that my travels were safe and graciously presented the property to me. You could tell she took great pride in her property and loved to share it's beauty and peacefulness with others. The property is located in the country and we had witness a female doe grazing in the woods just behind the rental, and several bunnies. All the things you could possible need were just a short distance away and an enjoyable ride. After our romantic dinner at one of the local fine dining restaurants we walked around the square. What quaint (I think I spelled that right) little town! Overall I give this rental and the owner a 10 plus. We plan to visit here again very soon! Wonderful everything!

Wow is this place Awesome! This is a private bed and breakfast (seperate from the main house) that is absolutely loaded with character and charm! The Inn Keeper Paula is the most vibrant charming woman you could ever meet, anxious to make your stay a most memorable experience! Very Clean, Very Warm, Very Welcoming, Very Charming, Very Comfy - You will love it!!!

My wife and I decided to spend our first night here after finding this place online.To be honest,I didnt expect too much but when we met Paula and she showed us the Bunk House, we were both blown away with the charm and special touches she added to this cute little B&B. Its certainly not the usual B&B you would expect..for one,there is no continental breakfast. However,Paula provides plenty of items to make a small breakfast in the kitchen and her thoughtfulness exceeded past anyones expectations. There was fresh flowers and fruit when we walked in.A cute electric fireplace in the living room area not to mention a wonderful bedroom with a large bed that had a fresh rose and amenities for the night.Overall the Bunk House was so charming that we look forward to staying there again.My only regret is that we could not stay longer to enjoy the other things Paula had to offer. If you want to stay at a place that isnt commercialized these days and prefer a more relaxed homey feel then stay here. The value and price is better and you wont reget a single minute.

My wife and I came to Geauga County to visit some relatives for winter break. We passed by this place and decided to give it a go. It turned out to be a very magnificent place. The innkeeper, Paula, was very accommodating.
