Wonderful time in Seneca Falls, New York

4.6 on May 21, 2016

We had two adjoining rooms, each with a queen bed, super comfortable mattress, lovely quilts, very homey and comfortable B &B. . Breakfast was delicious and varied each day. Inn keeper was helpful and very pleasant. We were only a 10 minute walk into the downtown of Seneca Falls and could walk to museums and dinner.

First time

5 on May 02, 2016

First time we ever stayed in a B and B and we didn't know what to expect but oh my gosh what an experience. It was ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC and Carol and Brent were a delight to talk to and the knowledge of the area was wonderful. I could go on and on but all I can say is we will be back and thank you again for the surprise birthday greetings and cake. It made my 66th so memorable. Chrissy and Willie in Whitehall, Pa

Innkeeper Response
It is always so much fun to be a part of our guests' surprises and celebrations! It is also great fun to have such wonderful guests who appreciate the little touches that make our B&B special. Thank you for you kind comments, and Brent and I will both look forward to your return (and that boat ride)!

4 visits and counting

5 on March 01, 2016

We just stayed for at least the fourth time and enjoy the visits more each time. The rooms are clean and very comfortable. Carol is fantastic! Her breakfasts are excellent (plan on skipping lunch) and she has become a friend. We have gone up with family and rented 2 rooms and again for all of the rooms plus the trips for just us. We have sent friends for their own trip and they also had a great time.

Innkeeper Response
We are headed into our 10th year, and I think you are near the top ranking for "frequent stayers", but I think it has been at least 5! It is always fun (and rewarding) to have return guests, and many have told us they wouldn't stay anywhere other than the VanCleef. Can't be happier with the reputation we have. Thank you for your generous and loving words of encouragement as you tell other travelers about your experience. I look forward to #6!! xoxo

IAWL Festival!

5 on January 06, 2016

We had a wonderful stay at the VanCleef Homestead Bed and Breakfast! Carol was a terrific host and a great cook! The food was only surpassed by her hospitality and the great time we had getting to know the other guests. Toby the cat was a big hit with our family, especially our adult girls that who gave him a cat toy with catnip in it as a surprise. The house was decorated beautifully for Christmas and clean. Thank you, Carol and Brent, for a great experience!

Innkeeper Response
It's a Wonderful Life weekend is our favorite event, and it is the official opening of the Christmas season for us. We work really hard to get the house decked out between Thanksgiving and IAWL weekend so that our guests enjoy the beauty of an old fashioned Christmas. Our guests make that weekend extra special - wonderful folks who love the movie and who take in all that is offered. We enjoy their sharing at the breakfast table. Toby is our official welcome cat - he loves, loves, the extra attention. Thank you for coming and for addition to the job of the season!

Perfect stopover

We only stayed one night on our way up to Niagra On The Lake but Carol made us very welcome. The B&B was perfect and the location was lovely. Carol made us a delicious breakfast to set us on our way.

Innkeeper Response
We meet the nicest travelers who are in route to some of the many beautiful spots in NY and Canada. Thank you for your kind response, and if ever in the area again, we would love to host your stay!

We had a wonderful stay at VanCleef B&B. The location is convenient, the rooms are beautiful, the breakfasts were excellent and the service outstanding. What more can you ask for?

Innkeeper Response
We strive on making our guests feel right at home, and we provide an experience that is what we would expect at a nice bed and breakfast. It is especially rewarding when folks appreciate what we do and let us know they enjoyed their stay. Thanks so much!

It's the little things!

Carol was a wonderful host. The ice-cold refreshing pitcher of water in the room and the chocolate treats were just two of the little things Carol does to make your stay more enjoyable. Paul Fitzpatrick, July 2015

Overnight stay in cute little town of Seneca Falls

5 on July 18, 2015

The owner of the B&B, Carol, met us with a friendly welcome and immediately made us feel comfortable. This B&B is within walking distance to the small town and there are many sites, restaurants to enjoy there. The one being the "Bedford Falls- It's a Wonderful Life" connection. Carol can tell you all about it!

Innkeeper Response
Our central location in this quaint little village is a plus for travelers who want to walk after a long ride. The sites are a plus - beautiful homes, historic buildings and waterways . . . something the average traveler doesn't expect when stopping for an overnight. We enjoy a variety of good quality restaurants within walking distance of our B&B. Thanks for sharing your experience!

Signature Dish

Baked French Toast
French Toast made with Amish homemade bread, baked with fresh fruit, such as blueberries, apples, or peaches. Our guests have told us we should find another name for this dish, as the term "French Toast" doesn't do it justice!
