Carol is a gracious host and this place is perfect for a getaway in the finger lakes area . There are winerys and quaint little towns all around. We have a child at Hobart and William Smith and chose Van Cleef for its proximity to Geneva. It is a 15 min drive over beautiful country roads to the school. We have stayed twice and will certainly return. Also, Toby the cat is the purr-fect ambassador!

We chose VanCleef Homestead for its convenience but we were delighted with the comfort and welcome we received from Carol. The home is in a lovely shaded area and set back far enough from the street so that it is very quiet. The breakfast was delicious and Carol made some great recommendations for places to eat and visit in the area.

The best bnb we have stayed at to date....without exaggerating...Carole made us feel right at home. Great value and so rare to find that in a bnb where you need accomodations for 4. Our stay in the charming 2 bedroom Swaby Suite was enhanced by the decor which so suited the feel of an 1825 home. The breakfast was to die for...we stayed for 2 nights and had different homemade entrees each morning preceded by a great fresh fruit salad along with moist muffins right out of the oven!

The VanCleef Homestead is a lovely old home that is well maintained. The owner, Carol, is very attentive to guest’s needs. Breakfasts are more than ample and well balanced. The location is ideal for touring some local history and the northern Finger Lakes wineries. It would be helpful to have fact sheets of things to see in the area and a list of local restuarants.
Thank you for the time spent in offering other travelers information about our B&B and about the area. It is a pleasure having guests who enjoy the local history and our award-winning wines. We also like to recommend our favorite restaurants and things to do while here. Thanks again, and I hope we have the pleasure of hosting your stay again in the future!

Upon arriving, we were greeted by the owner who was friendly and warm. The house was immaculate, beautifully decorated in a federal style. Each room had the feeling of early America that was very inviting and true to the home's era. Our bedroom was large with a King bed, it was comfortable and clean. Our breakfast in the morning was made to order, eggs, fruit, bacon, muffins, toast, juice, and coffee. There were homemade preserves also. I highly recommend VanCleef Homestead in Seneca Falls!
Thanks so much for your kind review! It is through helpful information like you offered to other travelers that they choose to stay with us. You mentioned our home-made jams - from the mulberry tree and sour cherry tree in our yard!! Thank you again, and we are pleased that you enjoyed your stay!

Family weekend getaway was wonderful! Carol is so accommodating and sweet.... 5 year old loved the pool! Adults appreciated they could park the boats at the house. Charming neighborhood was perfect for a stroll after a delicious breakfast. Toby the cat stopping in to greet us made everyone smile. Book your family getaway today! You will not be disappointed!
It is always a pleasure hosting families, and we particulary enjoyed this adorable and well-behaved 5-year-old! The pool has certainly seen some use this summer with the 85++ degrees we have had. Toby is an added benefit and loves to greet our guests! We make sure he gets extra treats! Thank you for offering your experience to other travelers!

I had a lovely stay with Carol and her family. The building is well-maintained, and my room was comfortable. I was in town for buisness, I had some meetings to go to and I wished to start looking at apartments in the area, as I was moving around Seneca Falls for work. Carol was generous with her time and filled me in on some rental companies and areas of the town that would suit me best. That kind of advice was exactly what I was looking for. I would definitely recommend VanCleef Homestead to anyone!
We love to greet newcomers to the area and learn about their "stories". Since I grew up in this area and have lived here all my life, I can offer helpful information to folks wanting a particular place to live, certain ammenities, health clubs, etc. It was a pleasure hosting your stay, and I hope our paths cross again!

A wonderful old Victorian B&B with homey touches everywhere. Lovely old neighborhood, close to downtown Seneca Falls, great personalized breakfasts and a great claw-foot tub in our bathroom!
It is hard to get to know one-night guests, but it always a pleasure chatting over coffee, recommending certain restaurants or quick tourist-related sites. Our location is perfect for a stroll downtown for dinner or a walk to a local ice cream spot. Thanks for your kind words!

Love this b and b. Carol is gracious and kind. Rooms are clean well appointed and the food is outstanding. We stay here when we visit our son and NYCC.
Love it when parents are here to visit their sons and daughters at NY Chiropractic College! They are experienced at where to eat and what to see, but they always take suggestions on things to do and see. We enjoy your visits very much and look forward to his graduation weekend!

Baked French Toast
French Toast made with Amish homemade bread, baked with fresh fruit, such as blueberries, apples, or peaches. Our guests have told us we should find another name for this dish, as the term "French Toast" doesn't do it justice!
