Private, hilltop, 1837 Greek-Revival manor on 6 acres, with Cayuga Lake access, located on NYS Scenic Route 89 and the Cayuga Lake Wine Trail, with the Seneca Lake Wine Trail a 20 minute drive away. Tony, (Brooklynite), and spouse, John, (Manhattanite via Watkins Glen), and their two dogs migrated to the country over a dozen years ago. Seneca Falls is the birthplace of Women's Rights, so lots of local history to soak up. Comfortable accommodations. Not the Shangri-La, but far from the Gray Gardens. The Pool Room has a working fireplace and Jacuzzi in the private bath. Hearty, country-style breakfasts with local fresh produce; baked goods in the afternoon. Pet-friendly with local dog-friendly parks for you and your canine companion to explore. Love our dogs. Open to all, including infants and we are noted as a safe haven for trans and gender fluid folks. In-ground pool in summer; free Wi-Fi; 50 inch cable TV in parlor. Fab wine and cheese trails, hiking, biking, kayaking, outlet shopping, antiquing, bird watching, and Elizabeth Cady Stanton, too! Come check out the gay-friendly Finger Lakes and while you're at it, why not bring along your canine companion and make us your get-away destination in NYS wine country?

So very helpful

4.4 on April 07, 2014

The owner was so helpful when our schedule caused us to arrive late that he stayed on the phone while we found the driveway in the dark. The breakfast was fresh and hot and wonderful the next morning. Beautiful views.

Wonderful stay in the Finger Lakes with my puppy Ruby!

What a wonderful quirky place, great location, great pool, a can't say enough about the fabulously delicious breakfast. Great mix of people. Informal and the owners really bring a casual elegance that is not forced. I will return!

Doggone great place

Great stay with outstanding hosts. Breakfast was the best anywhere! Grounds were wonderful with lots of opportunities for exercising our dogs who stayed in their portable dog houses in our room!

Bed & Breakfast of Your Dreams

5 on July 28, 2011

What an exceptional Bed & Breakfast! I recommend it most highly. Tony & John, the hosts, were as down-to-earth, friendly, and accommodating as any 2 people can be. I, my friend, & the others staying there enjoyed the pool, the extensive & beautifully landscaped grounds, & spacious parlors for playing games, watching tv, etc. I especially enjoyed sitting on the screened porch watching the many birds at the different kinds of feeders. Tony prepared fantastic breakfasts and accommodated my vegetarianism. The bedrooms were gorgeous & the beds as comfortable as any in which I've ever slept. I slept like a baby. I intend to return to the area for another vacation & Tony's & John's hospitality is part of the reason why. If you're in the Seneca Falls area, I strongly suggest that you stay at this very special place. It's a unique combination of feeling at home and yet being wonderfully taken care of. Enjoy!

Perfect Getaway!

This was our first time visiting this inn, and we were very impressed. Everything about it far exceeded our expectations. The Valentine's Special was a fantastic deal! The room was beautiful, the hosts were gracious, and the food was delicious. We will definitely be back!

Awesome Experience!!!

Such a wonderful experience!!! John and Tony were extremely hospitable!! My wife and I still talk about the breakfast Tony prepared for us...home made French toast, with a cranberry apple chutney which he was preparing when we arrived the day before. The egg soufflé was amazing!!! Will definetly be back soon. Thanks again John and Tony!!

Will stay elsewhere next time

The old home was fairly charming, but we think the bedrooms were part of a lower quality addition with low ceilings. Our room (the Pool Room) was closest to the kitchen and we were woken early every morning by the hosts unloading the dishwasher and clanging dishes to prepare breakfast. This was followed every morning by them smoking on a porch across the hall from our room and the cigarette smoke would enter our bedroom. We really only interacted with one host who saw us to our room and served breakfast. He was pretty high maintenance, my wife said it was like staying with an uncle that you don't really like. The house furnishings were decidedly grandmothery and not to our taste. Our mattress AND pillows were like sleeping on concrete. We're pretty open-minded but there was a picture over our tub that we found fairly offensive that definitely should not be forced upon paying guests of unknown morals or beliefs. It was not subtle in any way and even had a ceiling light dedicated to illuminating it. I can't imagine how my parents or grandparents would have reacted if they had paid to stay in that room. It needs to be removed. To give credit where due, the breakfast was very good each morning. This was offset somewhat by the host getting upset if you don't eat everything (as I said, high maintenance), and the dogs constantly begging. I don't know what else is available in the area, but I'd look at other options before staying here.

Warm home, amazing breakfast.

This place had the best breakfast we've ever been treated to at a B&B -- very filling but not heavy. The guest and atmosphere were warm & friendly and we loved our host -- great personality! We hope to visit again next year!

Just like home

Outstanding friendly service. Room & bathroom always very clean and neat. Plenty of towels, soap, shampoo provided. the breakfast is excellent and the chef uses only the freshest ingredients. Also, love that he uses fruits grown locally in the area.
