The Comfort of an Inn ~ The Hospitality of a Pub. The 1850 House Inn & Tavern would be recognizable to visitors of times past, not only by its brick exterior but also due to the loving preservation of the Inn's original old wood and brick in the nook-and-cranny filled floor plan. Inside the twelve guest rooms- which includes a two bedroom suite- await fine custom linens, large flat screens, WiFi and beverage coolers. Views of the Roundout River and of Main Street are accented by the carefully selected photographic enlargements that function as gigantic windows into the Rosendale of a bygone era. Scenes take guests back to the time of mule-drawn canal barges during the days of the vibrant cement industry forward in time to the rockin' days of the late 1950's and 1960's. A great mix of the past with the present.

    Tastefully renovated

Tastefully renovated, nice attention to detail, good food. Not much to do in the surrounding town tho. Great potential if someone puts in some shops and restaurants in Rosendale, this B&B will flourish.

I loved the 1850 House...beautifully restored, retaining the best features of the original, historic building with attractive new furniture, comfortable beds, spotless modern bathrooms, windows that open (with screens) and fully controllable air conditioner/heater unit. Incredible thoughtful touches like a stocked beverage cooler, TVs that can be seen from anywhere in the room, bathrobes and bathroom amenities. The pretzel croissants at breakfast are delicious. The staff and owner are incredibly welcoming and helpful. I loved everything about this place.
