My girlfriend & I stayed here for a cold birthday weekend in January - we wanted to get out of the city, try wines (many vineyards close by!), hike the beautiful Watkins Glen Park (right down the road!) & Taughannock Falls (30min), and try Gita's renowned vegan cooking. I'm vegetarian, and my girlfriend is vegan. Breakfasts were amazing! Lots of food, lots of local variety, and absolutely delicious - from home-made scones, sweet fruits, waffles, and vegan yogurt to savory frittatas, sautéed kale with cashews, tempeh bacon and local squash. Gita was a great host and gave us expert advice on everything we wanted to do in the surrounding area. Rooms were clean and cozy, beds are comfortable and nights are quiet. ...And we loved her cats! She keeps them in a totally separate part of the house, so no worries about allergies or stow aways in your bed, but if you like cats like we do, you're sure to meet Indi, Wally, and Sebastian. The Ginger Cat is perched just over Watkins Glen making it easy to roll into town every morning. We found it easy to get to surrounding vineyards, the Corning Glass Museum, and Taughannock Falls from this location as well. We also really enjoyed just talking with Gita, who is a compassionate animal advocate and knows lots of folks in Watkins Glen & the surrounding area. On her advice we found delicious vegan eats all over town, and had an elegant birthday dinner at the Inn at Glenora Wine Cellars (they actually offer a vegan cheese plate to pair with wines!). And if you ever want to visit Farm Sanctuary, I can't think of a better place to call home while you're in the area. I highly recommend staying with Gita at the Ginger Cat, and we will definitely be returning. Thank you Gita!

We had a wonderful weekend in the Watkins Glen area with an important visit to the Farm Sanctuary. ¿However, t¿he highlight for us during this ideal get-away was our time with Gita and our stay in her lovely Bed and Breakfast home. Gita was warmly welcoming being available for delightful conversation and information as she also let us enjoy our own discoveries. The actual Ginger Cat is also known as Wally and is an exceptional host of his side of the house, introducing us to the rest of the soft, good-looking, furry, and friendly family. The breakfasts prepared by Gita were perfectly exquisite - elaborate, delicious and nutritious. We hope our new friendship with Gita is long-lived. We miss you, Gita!
Aahhhh. Now Wally and I are blushing, if a ginger cat can actually blush! We all hope you'll be back again next year for a longer stay.

My fiance and I stayed at Ginger Cat for three nights. We absolutely loved the home and its atmosphere, and we were so happy to find a vegan B&B innkeeper who cares about animals and is such a champion for them. Our beds were always made when we returned in the afternoon or evening, and breakfast every morning was filling and delicious. We look forward to our next trip to Watkins Glen. Thank you Gita for such a lovely time!

I would definitely like to stay here again. Very clean and comfortable; the rooms are even nicer than they appear in the photographs. The real stand-out is the delicious vegan breakfast - coffee, fresh fruit, frittata (yes, it's vegan), granola, muffins, waffles, yogurt and fresh vegetables.
Thank you so much.

We recently spent a weekend at Ginger Cat B&B. Gita treated us and our 2 Greyhounds like old friends. Her Vegan breakfasts were delicious and interesting.Staying at Ginger Cat made our first trip to the Finger Lakes region a memorable one. We will return and recommend it 2TPelo
It was such a pleasure to have you and your 2 greys stay here during the Grapehound Festival. And I do hope you'll be back, with the dogs, of course.

My husband and I stayed at the Ginger Cat for our belated honeymoon in July. The room we stayed in, the shared bathroom and the common room where we ate were all well kept and clean. The eclectic cat themed decor was charming. Breakfast was awesome! The hostess Gita knows a lot about the surrounding area and was especially helpful in locating vegan friendly restaurants in nearby Watkins Glen. If you are a cat guardian and miss your furry friend, just ask and Gita will introduce you to the four legged residents. We recommend exploring the beautiful property and having your morning coffee on the deck too. Definitely call ahead to get the best directions to the Ginger Cat once you are off a main highway and on local roads.
I'm so happy that you were able to enjoy your belated honeymoon at the Ginger Cat. Hope you'll come again soon.

My wife and I had a lovely weekend staying at the Ginger Cat. Gita is a wonderful hostess, and made us some delicious breakfasts. The location is convenient to Farm Sanctuary, Watkins Glen, wineries, and all the features around lake Seneca. The room was quite comfortable, and the location is cozy, only two rooms for rental so you will never feel too crowded. We got to meet the three more outgoing of Gita's five cats, all adorable and friendly. But don't worry, if you don't like cats they are not allowed in the guest portion of the house.

We had a lovely stay at the Ginger Cat! The house, and our room, were beautiful and comfortable, and the cats were adorable. Gita, the owner, met us when we arrived, showed us the outstanding facilities in the guest portion of the house, and had even left vegan chocolate brownies on our bed! She gave us terrific recommendations for dinner and an ice cream parlor in the beautiful Watkins Glen, and the next morning gave us very clear written directions to Farm Sanctuary. She made us a delicious, ample vegan breakfast. There was so much of it that we were able to take some scones and muffins with us (in sandwich bags provided by Gita) and have it for breakfast on the next leg of our journey (which was much less vegan-friendly). In the morning, Gita showed us some of the plants and wildlife on her property and chatted with us. She offered the perfect balance of privacy also. It was a real oasis.
Thank you so very much for your kind words and great review. I am so glad that you enjoyed your stay at the Ginger Cat and your time at Farm Sanctuary. Hope you'll come back again!
