we stayed a few days in April in Harlem Grand. It was a nice room and we felt very comfortable there. Kellyn was very polite and she showed us the neighborhood and gave is very helpful tips. Near the Harlem Grand are the subway and bus station and so its very easy to go reach the sights or NY.

We stayed here last August and were amazed by the place. It is charming and has a lot of character. Our room was beautiful and had everything we needed. We got a tour of the neighbourhood when we arrived, which was very thoughtful. We were very close to the subway and bus stations. Grocery stores, bakeries, and small shops were close by. I'm not sure what they use to wash their linens and towels, but they smelled soo good! They only minor issue was the wifi. We had to go downstairs to get proper wifi otherwise it worked here and there upstairs. Also, they replaced our towels and made our beds, every other day, I think. The owner was also very quick to respond to any emails as well. We would definitely stay here again.

I visited New York City a few weeks ago and have a very lovely stay at the Harlem Grand, it truly felt like a home away from home. Kellyn was gracious and welcoming. My room was cozy and the bed was out of this world comfortable! Located close to the subway line, and at a reasonable price, the Harlem Grand is ideal of your New York stay.

My friend and I stayed there 6 nights. The host gave us a great tour to show the neighbour. Our room has fantastic decor and furniture, just like my own room. Great location which close to subway and bus stop. We definitely will come back!!

We visited Harlem Grand for two nights. We really can assure every visitor: DO NOT HESITATE AND BOOK IMMEDIATELY. Even our kids age 18, 19 and 20 years, really enjoyed. We are sorry we could not stay longer. The rooms, the hospitality, everything was really really perfect. Thanks for all! Fam. Fitters, Holland

Stayed two nights and three days in a wonderful holiday spice scented room. The bed was very comfortable, I slept like a baby. The room was very clean and neat. Kellyn was amazing, she was very helpful with directions and must see attractions. I would definitely recommend this B&B to anyone wanting a pleasant and up close experience with New Yorkers. Really enjoyed my stay and planning to return.

My wife and I were to vacation in NYC the last week of August. She was unexpectedly diagnosed with cancer and we're now in the midst of many medical tests and procedures; having to cancel our vacation. Kellyn was extremely generous and refunded our full deposit. THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH Kellyn.

My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our 3 nights stay at Harlem Grand--clean and quite environment. The innkeeper, Kellyn facilitated a valuable walking tour around the neighborhood during the very cold winter days of February 2014. The B&B is nestled in historic Harlem neighborhood near Columbia Univ, legendary Apollo Theater, a fantastic grocery store, bakery, restaurants, etc. The building is very convenient to subway and bus line. We will certainly return to this fabulous B&B!!
Quiet New York City Neighborhood
New York, NY (LGA-LaGuardia) 17 miles miles
The determining issue, aside from budget, may be your level of fatigue, time, weight of luggage and weather. You can take a yellow cab from LaGuardia and tell the cab driver you're going to Manhattan. Or, you can find your way down to baggage claim and walk outside and find the M60 Bus. Once you get on the bus tell the driver you'd like to get off at St. Nicholas Avenue. Once you get off of the bus walk downtown to 122nd Street. I suggest taking a cab from Newark and JFK airports however, you may elect to take the Subway to Harlem Grand. Should you decide to take the Subway, you will need to handle your luggage up and down at least 4 standard flights of stairs, Should you select to take the Subway, you will need to handle your luggage up and down at least 4 standard flights of stairs, walk a fair bit with your luggage in tow and you will be travelling and transferring on the subway for about an hour and 15 minutes once you enter the subway system. With a cab, you simply walk out of the terminal, wait for a taxi and within 25 minutes you'll arrive at Harlem Grand.
