5 out of 5Much more than Bed and Breakfast
March 29, 2013
My girlfriend and I stayed at The Suite Escape over a Friday night and then the Mohonk Mountain House resort ($650/night) for Saturday night. At the Mountain House we laughed about how much we preferred The Suite Escape. The Suite is the whole upstairs with the large family room pictured above, and a large bedroom and bathroom/shower not pictured. Myriam and Rich are the real deal. Myriam is both a Hudson Valley travel agent and a licensed rock climbing and mountain guide. Rich is a legendary rock climber in the Shawangunk range. They're warm, colorful, and the best travel advisors for the area.

Just a short drive away from downtown New Paltz, this is a quiet neighborhood retreat. The space is great because of it's size and setup(dining area, bedroom, living room). We really felt like we were renting a whole house. Myriam and Rich were also very accommodating for food and for ideas of what to do in the area. They are also very friendly! We highly recommend this place for couples or a family with older kids.

Myriam and Rich welcomed us into their home and treated us like family. They are very attentive and accommodating hosts. It was easy to get in touch with Myriam about any concerns that we may have prior to our trip. She emailed us a ton of information and suggestions about places to visit, places to eat, and things to do, not only in New Paltz and the Hudson area, but also in the surrounding areas (Rhineback, Poughkeepsie, Orange County, just to name a few.) Their help in setting up an itinerary gave us the opportunity to get the most out of our visit to New Paltz. The Suite Escape is a great bed and breakfast and we will definitely be returning!
5 out of 5B&B for couple or family!
November 05, 2012
We spend a week-end in October 2012 at the Suite Escape, and we could not have been more pleased with our stay. This concept of B&B is great for a family: we have a 5 and 10 year old, and most of the traditional B&B don't accept children. We love the flexibility that it provides: you can have breakfast when you want in your own private space... like at home! The apartment is lovely, very nicely decorated, spacious and pristine. The bed is super comfortable. Nothing is missing. A big plus of the Suite escape is the owners: Myriam and Rich. They provided a lot of excellent recommendations for visits and restaurants. The Suite is conveniently located: in 2 days, we did hiking in Minnewaska and Mohonk, we went pumpkin picking in a farm, went to Walkway over the Hudson and visited FDR's house. Also, it was our 10 year old birthday, and we found a lovely gift when we arrived. Myriam also made a bonfire in the garden with marshmallows: it was a real treat for the girls! This place is wonderful, highly recommended.

4.2 out of 5The "Sweet" Escape
October 19, 2012
My wife and I had a delightful stay The Suite Escape from October 8 through October 13, 2012. Our room was a private apartment with a large living room and separate bedroom with a very comfortable king size adjustable bed. We loved all of the extra room for the price of a regular hotel room. The room comes with a dining room table, toaster, Keurig coffee maker, and small refrigerator. Our host offered to make us a hot breakfast each day, but we were happy with the fruit and goodies she supplied in our room. But the best part of the trip was Myriam and Rich, our hosts. Myriam also has a travel business which includes planning itineraries. Her advice and planning for our daily excursions (at no extra cost) was invaluable, and her knowledge of the Hudson River area and Catskills was impressive. I particularly recommend using herand Rich if you are interested in the outdoors or are a rock climber. If you are not familiar with the Hudson valley, New Paltz is a great location, situated about half way between New York City and Albany New York. As a college town it has more interesting restaurants and activities. Steve Goeden
