Located in the heart of downtown Ithaca and within walking distance of Cornell, The William Henry Miller Inn was called "the place to stay" by The New York Times. Built in 1880 by Cornell's first architecture student, all rooms have their own personality; private baths; wireless Internet access and all amenities. Our Carriage House features a pet friendly room and Aurora, a fully accessible guest room. We love food! A full breakfast features a choice of two main dishes and all homemade breads and an evening dessert buffet is the way to end the day. Coffee and tea are always available. Parking is right next to the Inn.

What a marvellous place! We began our honeymoon with a three night stay and could have easily never left! Our hostess was so nice and accomodating. She even offered to come pick us up when we we were lost looking for a restaurant! She had great advice and maps and information available. Everything was thought of from the desserts and 24 hour coffee and tea availability to Qtips in the bathrooms! The water refill station was environmentally friendly and the computer with internet very helpful. The staff was extremely friendly and the food was unparalled. The location was perfect for exploring Ithaca on foot. Next time we would plan on hanging out at the inn more because it was so charming and relaxing. We stayed in the Quarters (one of the least expensive rooms) and it was perfectly lovely. The room darkening shades were particularly helpful for a restful stay. When we return to Ithaca we will have to stay here!

My wife and two friends recently had a 2 night stay at The William Henry, on our drive down to Boston. If you are looking for a B&B with all the extras this is the place for you. Lynette the owner has only one aim in mind, to provide a great customer experience to anyone who visits. The rooms are all individually themed and spotless, the breakfasts are a real culinery delight, where else would you get ripe melon, with a lime sorbet and a dash of margarita, followed by a dijon infused egg, with rosemary, pork and apple sausages? Lynette has plenty of local knowledge and advice, which is really useful when you have a limited time in Ithica. Her sense of humour is brilliant and she really makes you feel at ease from the minute you walk in. Added to that are the delicious home made cakes and desserts left out for you when you return from a night out in the Town. Thanks for a fantastic couple of days Mike & Jill Crowther

Have stayed at this Inn 3 times in the last 4 years and would not stay anywher else in Ithaca. The Inn has become a destination in itself. Lynnettte, the owner is a wonderful host. On this most recent trip, I took my elderly parents who rarely stay at B&B's. This was a special treat for them and Lynnettee made them feel right at home. They are hard to impress, especially when it comes to food, but Lynnette's breakfasts and late night deserts won them over. (It helps that she has a first floor cottage where the stair-adverse can also enjoy the experience). A great house in a central location, a block away from the heart of downtown, with a great staff.
5 out of 5Best B&B I've Stayed At

Have stayed at the William Henry Miller Inn many times, and every time I am there, I am so impressed with the wonderful breakfasts and the rooms. Each room is elegantly furnished and unique. Best of all are the nightly desserts- each one is a treat. We always skip dessert in the local restaurants in order to try the WHM Inn offerings. In my book, this is the best value in Ithaca and a top-notch place to stay. It is so conveniently located to the Cornell campus and to the downtown of Ithaca- all walkable. Highly recommended!!

5 out of 5My Comfortable Retreat
June 12, 2010
I discovered the WHM Inn in the Ithaca phone book. I was on a college tour with our daughter, visiting Cornell. I copied the names of all the B&B's I could find to take back to Texas with me. On my second visit to Ithaca, I was able to book a room at this inn. Immediately charmed by the house, the warm fires glowing and the smells of delicious foods cooking I felt immediately at home. My room was precious; beautifully decorated with comfort and class. At the breakfast table the next morning, I was delighted with the selection of delicious foods, the people I met sharing the dining room, and Katie, the beautiful young cook who has worked there in some capacity since she was a teen-ager. Lynette, the innkeeper, is an amazing hostess. She knows what you need before you ask for it! I was spoiled by the time I left and immediately planned my next trip. By now, the trips were for ME, not just to see our daughter. My family has stayed there on numerous occasions. We have never been disappointed. With Lynette's help, we had a surprise 21st birthday celebration for our daughter in one of the parlors and surprisingly became huge BIG RED ice hockey fans, thanks to Dave and Lynette's contagious energy and dedication to this team. Coming from Texas, there was a lot to learn!! I highly recommend that you stay in this inn your next trip to Ithaca; for breakfast, sit at the table by the window where you see the activity of the world outside, the giant whirling snowflakes, the birds coming to the feeders, and the people on their way up the hill to classes. Then feel yourself becoming part of the WHM Inn family. You will be very happy that you found this gem, and as many of the people who come here, you will be back as often as you can.
5 out of 5A memorable respite

The hospitality Lynnette and Katie shared made for the most memorable respite. By the time I left I felt renewed and recharged -with gusto. My parents have been frequent visitors and now I know why! This is one outstanding Inn!!
4.8 out of 5a wonderful winter stay
August 23, 2009
Stayed here Feb 2007. Hosts were personable, knowledgeable and available when needed. Location can't be beat. I stayed in a large, comfortable upstairs room with its own fireplace and bath. The Inn is a nice historic property, with wonderful furnishings; but not overly fussy. Breakfast was excellent, many choices and beautifully served.
5 out of 5Gracious hospitality, fantastic food
August 12, 2009
Just stayed here for 2 nights with my husband and son. The breakfasts rivaled those of any 5 star restaurants, and there was a choice of 6 desserts left out every night with coffee and tea. Lynnette and Katie were gracious hosts, and the inn was well stocked with travel guides, printed directions, and even umbrellas in case of a downpour. The location was convenient to Ithaca Commons, restaurant row and a Tuesday farmer's market. I would definitely come back to the William Henry Miller Inn.
