The Stone House Bed & Breakfast at the Cornelis Kool House, Hurley NY, is an early 18th century Hudson Valley Dutch estate, with architectural features dating back to the original Dutch settlement of the New Netherland. It is possibly the oldest house in New York State that you can actually stay in, dating from circa 1700. We are nestled in the peaceful countryside of the Esopus valley, by the historic village of Hurley, a National Historic Landmark. We are perfectly situated to explore both sides of the Hudson River, the Shawangunks or the Catskills. Both the popular tourist destinations of Woodstock and Rhinebeck are just a short drive away.
Relax in our largest and most luxurious room. The queen sized four poster canopy bed has check silk drapery that echoes the simplicity of the original eighteenth century bed canopies. The down-filled pillows and duvet are covered with the highest quality Frette sheets. This spacious room also contains a magnificent mahogany New York armoire from circa 1840. The cozy sitting area has a sofa, a small desk and two large windows. 32" Flatscreen HD TV with Cable and DVD. The en-suite bathroom features the original stone knee-high wall, exposed beams and a glorious wide plank floo

We had a wonderful stay. Sam was a graceous host. We were in town for my husbands mother's 89th birthday. It turned out that she and her family used to live in the house in the 1950's. We had no idea until after we booked our stay. We highly recommend if your looking for an authentic Stone House experience.

This B&B is located in the middle of a beautiful, wooded area next to a creek. The surroundings are spectacular. An excellent place for relaxation and meditation. And conveniently located so close to NYC. The hosts are very nice and hospitable people. The breakfasts they prepare are out of this world. Every day a different menu, every day a new surprise. I wish I could have breakfast like that every day. All food is freshly made and really home made. What a treat! Each room has a unique atmosphere and includes a bathroom with all the amenities. We are definitely going back!
