We keep talking about our visit to the Croff House...and that was in August. My husband and I both work in the hospitality business and we were both delighted and impressed by the attention to detail and the dedication to excellence that the proprietors put into this B&B. And they were both so charming, warm and professional that we felt completely at home. We have already booked a return visit and Croff House is on our short list of favorite places to stay. Thanks Duncan and Russ!
We thank you so much for the terrific review! It's wonderful when fellow hospitality guests stay with us and we're happy you're stay was memorable enough to motivate you to share your experience with future visitors. If we make it past the short list, we hope to see you back again soon. Until then, much appreciation and thanks!

We were in town from NYC for a wedding and stayed here with some friends. It was a wonderful experience. It is a pretty short walk from the train and be prepared to walk as Uber doesn't seem to be around and the cab companies aren't really there either (this would be a problem for any and every B&B in Hudson). The House is very well done and Duncan and Russ are quite welcoming and put a lot of thought into the comfort of the place. It is on a little side street in a nice part of the small town. The breakfasts were fantastic - be prepared for a 3 course meal! Overall, this was one of the nicest B&B's I've ever been too. I'd say it reminds me a lot of Newburyport, MA, but with a better breakfast. Enjoy!
Thanks a million for the awesome review! We're so glad you enjoyed your stay. Wedding weekends are chock full of events, so guests don't usually have a lot of time to enjoy the inn and Hudson, but we're so glad this was not the case with your stay. We hope you will visit us once again, and look forward to seeing you. Thanks again!

I spent Memorial Day weekend with a group of friends at The Croff House. I wish I could think of some constructive criticism, but I can't - the house is perfect and the hosts are great. I would change nothing. Start with the house. It is beautiful. Actually, our collective jaws dropped when we entered it. The bedrooms are spacious and comfortable. The bathrooms are a treat. The location is great - walking distance from the town center and from the Hudson for fantastic views. There's also a lovely porch that is great for idling, enjoying the flowers, and chatting and imbibing. The hosts are very attentive without being in your face. Just really nice people who know their town and care about their guests' well-being. They cook a mean breakfast too and even accommodated the two vegans in our group without a grumble. This really is a great place to stay of you are looking for a getaway from New York and want to enjoy Hudson town. Very highly recommended.
Patrick: Thanks for the sensational comments and praise, we really appreciate it! What a fun weekend it was for you all celebrating Jenny's graduation, and we're so happy you chose The Croff House to host your festivities. Based on your comments everything seems to have exceeded your needs and expectations, which is so fulfilling for us. We hope that you and the others will come back to Hudson for another visit soon. Until then thanks a million and be well!

We couldn't have had a more perfect place to stay. From the minute we arrived, Russ was at our car, helping us with our bags. Once inside, he happily recommended several restaurants in which to try while helping us get settled into our beautiful room. We truly felt at home in the Croff House, a magnificently restored Victorian home. Russ and Duncan provide the most personal touches everywhere, including making and setting the automatic timer on the coffee pot in the kitchen for my husband and me to help ourselves at our leisure. Both Duncan and Russ made two delicious, three course breakfasts each morning of our stay. I am already planning to say again for a mother/daughter weekend this summer and again in the fall with my husband.
Amy & Greg: Thanks so much for the exceptional review. We're so happy you enjoyed your stay with us so highly and appreciate all your wonderful praise including our breakfasts, service and amenities. We look forward to hosting your mother/daughter getaway - just let us know when you'd like to book it and we will be waiting for you. Thanks again so very much!

We went to the Croff House in the middle of November. The hosts were very friendly and helpful and the house was very nicely decorated. The highlight was the breakfasts and the excellent selection of teas. The location was also great, as it is only a 5 minute walk from Warren St. Looking forward to coming back in the future.
Hey thanks so much for the excellent review! We're so happy you enjoyed your stay with us and that you appreciate all we do to make our guests' stay memorable. In addition thanks for mentioning how our convenient location within walking distance of Hudson's main street, Warren Street, makes everything close and convenient. We thank you again for the great review and with you all the best this holiday season and in the year ahead!

For a weekend away from the city, I made reservations at The Croff House, a wonderful bed and breakfast owned by proprietors Duncan and Russ. The five bedroom B&B is located on a quiet cul-de-sac that is conveniently located to the main street in town with restaurants and shops (Warren Street). Russ kindly picked us up at the train station (it would have been a short walk but I brought way too much luggage) and brought us to the B&B. We asked for some advice on restaurant options that cater to vegetarians (Aish!) and things to do (Farm to Glass Tour...more below!). The breakfast featured at the B&B was delicious! Each day we got: coffee (refills were constantly offered!), fresh orange juice, and chilled water. Additionally, Duncan baked fresh muffins (one day they were sweet with raspberries and the next day they were savory with sundried tomatoes), yogurt parfaits and an entree (quiche on Saturday and French Toast Sunday). I advised them that Aish is a vegetarian and they baked a meatless quiche for her and offered meatless bacon/sausage (to me, the fact that this exists saddens me). I highly recommend staying here if you find yourself in Hudson :) If you're looking for a quick trip away from Manhattan, I highly recommend coming here! You can take the Amtrak from Penn Station and get off directly at the Hudson stop. You can enjoy a weekend away without a car rental.
Amazing review! Thanks so much - we really appreciate it! You guys totally took advantage of all that The Croff House and Hudson has to offer. You're right - our convenient location within walking distance to everything means you don't need a car. So happy you enjoyed our three=course breakfasts, too (LOL about the vegetarian meat alternatives). We hope that the next time you need an "Escape from New York" we will once again have the pleasure of your company with us at The Croff House. Until then enjoy the holidays and thanks a million!

I proposed to my fiancé in front of their doorsteps. I selected this bed and breakfast because of the great reviews. Duncan and Russ are great hosts.mthe rooms are cozy and romantic. The breakfasts were delicious. We loved everything about our stay. I'd recommend this place to any couple seeking a relaxing getaway.
Thanks for the super review! We're always happy when couples choose The Croff House to "pop the question", although we get kind of antsy waiting to hear what the answer is (we haven't had a "no" yet!). We're equally happy that your special weekend was wonderful in all other aspects as well. Wishing all the best this holiday season, we thank you for the great review and offer our sincerest congratulations!

We recently had a "Big Chill" style weekend with 4 couples converging on the Croff House B&B. Two of the couples had stayed here before and we were back for more! This is a great B&B. The hosts, Russ and Duncan, are delightful and make you feel right at home. They live next door, so the house is for guests only. The rooms are beautifully appointed and not twee (we hate twee!). The bathrooms might be the highlights of each room - some with tubs, others with great showers, often with a stained glass window in the shower stall (non-transparent, obviously!). The breakfasts are truly gourmet - reason alone to come here! We will be back. Again...
LOL - what a spectacular (and entertaining) review! We're so happy you all had such a fun weekend with us at The Croff House. It can sometimes be a challenge with a close knit group as an innkeeper - knowing when you're needed and when you're not. Clearly we were able to offer just the right balance. We look forward to seeing any and all of you back again soon. Thanks again and all the best this holiday season!
