Highest rated inn in this area on Trip Advisor. On 26 very scenic acres overlooking Seneca Lake, and in the middle of the Wine Trail. Very lovely southern cottage decor. Exceptionally clean. Includes 4 private lake front cottages. Inn has very nice picnic area with smoker/grill and fire pit for our guests. Our own hiking trail to boot. Very peaceful and relaxing. All private rooms with refrigerator, microwave, DirecTV, wireless Internet, A/C, electric fireplaces, and view of the lake. When you call to book mention BedandBreakfast to get your breakfast vouchers.

This is a cozy and comfy inn. The rooms are clean and made decorated with care. This is a great place to stay if you would like to spend most of your time wine tasting. It is the perfect location, right in the middle of all the best winery's. Brenda and Pat are gracious and attentive. They provided us with recommendations and accommodations to have dinner under stars. They have a fire pit going every night. Wifi connection is great and coffee is ready for you in the morning.

We spent a long couples weekend away over the Labor Day weekend and were very happy with The Savannah House Inn - will definitely return! The room was clean, smelled of lavender (could be because we stayed in the lavender room) and were pleased with the comfortable bed! Pat and Brenda were very welcoming and the coffee and tea provided in the morning was delicious! Having a mini-refrigerator and microwave in the room was nice to have - especially when you buy cheese from the wineries and want to keep it cold. Thank you, Pat and Brenda for a pleasant stay. - Harrisburg, PA couple

We staid there for 2 nights. Place is very clean, rooms are small but ok just for spending the night. The location is not that great, right on the highway- very noisy at night. There is a lake view, but can't walk there - everywhere private properties. About 15 min driving distance to the Watkins Glenn park. Also 30 min to Geneva. We enjoyed the place, but 3 days was enough.
If one were to look at our web site and/or read our Trip Advisor reviews, the information there would be very much at odds with this guest's comments. Every year we are rated #1 in this area on Trip Advisor. Many of our guests have commented that they chose our place because it is centrally located to the wineries and vineyards - and the nearby towns - and because it is beautiful and peaceful here compared to places they have stayed in the towns. This guest failed to comment on the fact that while here, they sat outside and walked about on our very scenic 26 acres, and seemed to enjoy it. We overlook the lake, and there are cottages in front of us at the lake front. Those cottages, naturally, are all private property. It is a short walk on a paved road right beside us to get to where the cottages are, or one can take our trail through our woods to where the lake and cottages are. We are the only inn in the area that has such a trail, or has lake front cottages. We are 13 minutes from Watkins Glen State Park/Gorge, and Race Track, 13 minutes from Penn Yan, 20 minutes from Geneva, 6 minutes from Dundee, and 20 minutes from Hammondsport. There are 20 wineries and 4 microbreweries within 10 minutes of us - two in walking distance. Nearly every single place to stay or winery or micro brewery is located on this road, just like we are, but unlike the accommodations in the towns, our guests can sit outside in peace, or sit by the nightly fire at our fire pit. This guest also took advantage of a special deal we had that saved them $70/night, which sounds like a good deal and a good value. As is usually the case with guests who have issues, this guest never said a word while they were here - did not ask for directions or information - and was new to the area, so they had no knowledge of what the other options were like for accommodations. If they had, they would have known that, while we serve fresh ground gourmet coffee and tea each morning, those wanting breakfast go to a location about 3 1/2 minutes away. If one reads our Trip Advisor reviews they will see that our previous guests over and over cite service, cleanliness, and location as "5 stars". We try very hard to provide a very good experience for all of our guests, including this one - but once in a while, no matter what we do, there are a very few who are not fully satisfied. This is disappointing for us. We're sorry anytime a guest does not have a great time here. In this case, things that disappointed this guest vary quite a bit from actuality, and what many other previous guests have said. We can't correct what nearly every guest loves about our Inn.

We stayed here with our 11 month old for the summer long weekend. Such a beautiful and clean place. Also so conveniently located to all the wineries. The owners Pat and Brenda are such warm and caring people, we felt right at home! Highly recommend this place for a pleasant and relaxing stay while in this neighborhood. We may be back soon for another weekend getaway.

Rooms were tastefully decorated, however the air conditioning was a noisy portable so loud it was difficult to hear the TV. Room temp was 74 F at best. No room refresh after first day, no clean towels. Blinds were broken such that they provided no privacy from guests walking outside the room. No King bed available.
Guest stayed 2 nights along with 2 other couples who are friends of guest. Each room has a queen bed - a normal queen bed, and we do not advertise having any king beds. We've never heard of a 'small' queen bed. There are several photos of our rooms and all have the same queen beds. In 9 years no one has ever complained about the beds - but they have often raved about our beds and the linens we use, which are not normal motel linens. On the first morning [the 2nd day of guest's 2-day stay], guest hung out his sign to have his room refreshed, which is the common practice here. His bed was remade and used towels replaced. The 2nd morning guest completed his stay, so there was no need for a 'refresh'. He never mentioned to us that he needed more towels. We do use floor model A/C units in our rooms, which routinely provide excellent air conditioning when it is needed. We noted late on guest's first day, that his A/C unit was running and he had all his windows open, which was an unusual thing to do. We have these units set up in a way designed to be most efficient, but the efficiency can diminish if a guest moves the unit. We have no idea if this happened because guest never mentioned that he had a problem, and we do not go into any guest's room unless they ask us to. We also have a fire pit each evening and guest did the fire pit each evening with his friends and other guests. He proceeded to put huge amounts of logs on the fire each night, creating a rather large fire, which was a concern because our grass was very dry for lack of rain. To put this review in perspective, while guest complained in his review about his A/C unit, he also created a huge fire, which is remarkable if one is uncomfortable with it being A/C weather, which it was not. Guest also used a large blanket on his bed, in addition to the ones we provide - possibly because it wasn't that hot. As for 'musty' - this is totally untrue and at total odds with the many reviews we get. Our guests routinely tell us just the opposite - how wonderful the rooms smell because they are so clean. One of guest's friends volunteered to Brenda that "you've got a real nice place here". And another friend told me on the morning he departed that they had a great time and loved the motel. One of those friends also left a very nice tip for the housekeeper. If guest had these concerns, he could have mentioned them to us as we live here, but he did not. In general, this review is in stark contrast to all our other reviews, and the many comments we receive from guests when they depart. We have no idea why guest would write what he did.

The Savannah House Inn is a charming and quaint getaway. Located close to several wineries and conveniently between Watkins Glen and Geneva. The grounds of the Inn offer a quiet place to relax and enjoy the view of Seneca lake. There is no onsite dining however there are several fine choices within a 10 minute ride. Pat and Brenda are very nice and helpful. There is a fire every night to relax around and talk about the days adventures.

Spent two nights at this Inn. Loved the hospitality of the owners who provided whatever we asked for including tips on where to eat. The nightly campfire was great for meeting other guests and unwinding from adventures hiking at Watkins Glen SP and other nearby attractions.

My fiancée and I were looking for an affordable weekend getaway and we found it at the Savanna House! The room was so relaxing with an electric fireplace, books, and cute decorations that made it feel like home! Not to mention a mini fridge and microwave for your goodies! I was absolutely thrilled to see how immaculate the room was! Pat & Brenda and theirs furbabies were great! Can't wait for our next stay! Oh and the coffee they have is beyond amazing!
Thank you so much for writing such a beautiful review. We so enjoyed meeting you and getting to know you. We try our best to see that our guests have a great time, and their enjoyment of our place is very fulfilling and is what keeps us continuing with the business. We certainly look forward to continuing our friendship with you when you return. Best, Pat and Brenda
