We stayed here with our 11 month old for the summer long weekend. Such a beautiful and clean place. Also so conveniently located to all the wineries. The owners Pat and Brenda are such warm and caring people, we felt right at home! Highly recommend this place for a pleasant and relaxing stay while in this neighborhood. We may be back soon for another weekend getaway.

Rooms were tastefully decorated, however the air conditioning was a noisy portable so loud it was difficult to hear the TV. Room temp was 74 F at best. No room refresh after first day, no clean towels. Blinds were broken such that they provided no privacy from guests walking outside the room. No King bed available.
Guest stayed 2 nights along with 2 other couples who are friends of guest. Each room has a queen bed - a normal queen bed, and we do not advertise having any king beds. We've never heard of a 'small' queen bed. There are several photos of our rooms and all have the same queen beds. In 9 years no one has ever complained about the beds - but they have often raved about our beds and the linens we use, which are not normal motel linens. On the first morning [the 2nd day of guest's 2-day stay], guest hung out his sign to have his room refreshed, which is the common practice here. His bed was remade and used towels replaced. The 2nd morning guest completed his stay, so there was no need for a 'refresh'. He never mentioned to us that he needed more towels. We do use floor model A/C units in our rooms, which routinely provide excellent air conditioning when it is needed. We noted late on guest's first day, that his A/C unit was running and he had all his windows open, which was an unusual thing to do. We have these units set up in a way designed to be most efficient, but the efficiency can diminish if a guest moves the unit. We have no idea if this happened because guest never mentioned that he had a problem, and we do not go into any guest's room unless they ask us to. We also have a fire pit each evening and guest did the fire pit each evening with his friends and other guests. He proceeded to put huge amounts of logs on the fire each night, creating a rather large fire, which was a concern because our grass was very dry for lack of rain. To put this review in perspective, while guest complained in his review about his A/C unit, he also created a huge fire, which is remarkable if one is uncomfortable with it being A/C weather, which it was not. Guest also used a large blanket on his bed, in addition to the ones we provide - possibly because it wasn't that hot. As for 'musty' - this is totally untrue and at total odds with the many reviews we get. Our guests routinely tell us just the opposite - how wonderful the rooms smell because they are so clean. One of guest's friends volunteered to Brenda that "you've got a real nice place here". And another friend told me on the morning he departed that they had a great time and loved the motel. One of those friends also left a very nice tip for the housekeeper. If guest had these concerns, he could have mentioned them to us as we live here, but he did not. In general, this review is in stark contrast to all our other reviews, and the many comments we receive from guests when they depart. We have no idea why guest would write what he did.

The Savannah House Inn is a charming and quaint getaway. Located close to several wineries and conveniently between Watkins Glen and Geneva. The grounds of the Inn offer a quiet place to relax and enjoy the view of Seneca lake. There is no onsite dining however there are several fine choices within a 10 minute ride. Pat and Brenda are very nice and helpful. There is a fire every night to relax around and talk about the days adventures.

Spent two nights at this Inn. Loved the hospitality of the owners who provided whatever we asked for including tips on where to eat. The nightly campfire was great for meeting other guests and unwinding from adventures hiking at Watkins Glen SP and other nearby attractions.

Very charming inn that is so clean! The owners are welcoming and very helpful. The early morning coffee is great, and the fire pit at night is wonderful! The restaurant suggestions were great! I would recommend this place to anyone!
We much appreciate your very nice comments, and hope you visit us again. Thank you - Pat and Brenda

My fiancée and I were looking for an affordable weekend getaway and we found it at the Savanna House! The room was so relaxing with an electric fireplace, books, and cute decorations that made it feel like home! Not to mention a mini fridge and microwave for your goodies! I was absolutely thrilled to see how immaculate the room was! Pat & Brenda and theirs furbabies were great! Can't wait for our next stay! Oh and the coffee they have is beyond amazing!
Thank you so much for writing such a beautiful review. We so enjoyed meeting you and getting to know you. We try our best to see that our guests have a great time, and their enjoyment of our place is very fulfilling and is what keeps us continuing with the business. We certainly look forward to continuing our friendship with you when you return. Best, Pat and Brenda

Food left in fridge from prior guest. Hot water took forever. Strong sulfer odor. Low water pressure. No curtains. Gaps in blinds. Door lock difficult to open from outside. Wouldn't recommend.
I'm not sure what caused this guest to write something so at odds with what everyone else says. Our inn has the reputation for being extremely clean: we have a state of the art water system - on demand - that produces endless hot water at 160 degrees with high water pressure. I don't believe anyone has ever made these complaints. Our doors have thick weather strip and one needs to pull on the door as they turn the knob. Occasionally guests have difficulty with this, but once shown, it's no longer a problem. It's very easy to understand. We do not use curtains, as they are considered passe - we use wooden blinds, which provide plenty of privacy and a more cheerful affect. Guest was told on the phone while doing his reservation, that we do not have an onsite restaurant, but that we provide fresh ground gourmet coffee and tea each morning - and that our guest go to a place for breakfast about 3 1/2 minutes from here, where they can have about anything they want for about $6-$8/person - and they consistently tell me that breakfast was great, which it is. Every year we have the highest rating in this area on Trip Advisor and the reviews are like all the others here except for this one. I don't know what motivated this person, or if they actually stayed with us, but it is disappointing to read something like this knowing it is totally at odds with reality and with the way we treat our guests.

This BB was a cozy stay in a nice location. Himrod is basically in the middle of Geneva and Watkins GLen. The Rooms remind you of a bedroom. They are Small, but has everything you need including a frig and microwave. Owners gave great recommendations on food and limo and were very kind. I would definitely stay here again. Comfy bed, nice pillows, clean bathroom, and nice towels were included. I am not a coffee drinker, but who I was with enjoyed the free morning coffee. I must include that I was not aware of the fans in the wineries that kick on at night in the cold winter months. This was quite loud the one night we were there. It sounded like a helicopter circling the motels, so if you are not a sound sleeper this may bother you.
Thank you for your kind review. The weather was unusually cold during your stay, but, to your credit, you made the most of it quite cheerfully. We are located in the center of the wineries and vineyards , which is why so many people stay with us. Unfortunately during your stay we had unusually cold weather, and our neighbor, Hermann Wiemer Winery had to turn on their turbine blades to protect their vines. It's rare, but a bit of a surprise for someone not used top hearing it. Most people relax once they know what it is, but it can affect some people. But, as I said, you were very positive and upbeat during the entire time of your stay, and we enjoyed having you. Pat and Brenda

My husband and I were looking for centrally located accommodations for our stay in the finger lakes. The Savannah House Inn provided the perfect stay for us...the rooms were clean and bright, the hosts (Pat and Brenda) are welcoming and helpful but non intrusive. The lake views and bon fire in the evening provided a relaxing end to our days exploring the area. Brenda even takes time to light candles outside each room in the evening to add that extra special warm touch. Pat and Brenda provide coffee and tea in the office starting at 7:30am to help start your day off right! Delightful stay!
Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a beautiful review. You made our day:) It was a pleasure to meet you and spend a bit of time with you. Please come again soon. Best wishes, Pat and Brenda
