Inn Details
The William Smith Inn opened its doors in June 2009. This Italianate home, built in 1873, features quarter-cut white oak floors with black walnut inlay, monstrous chestnut doors, floor-to-ceiling windows and incredibly detailed molding. William Smith was a philanthropist, astronomer, spiritualist and nurseryman and established William Smith College in 1908. This home has been restored and brought to its former glory by your hosts David and Theresa Gage. Guests will enjoy beautifully appointed rooms filled with historic pictures and memorabilia according to its name. Guest rooms include The Sturtevant, The Miller's Room, The William Smith Suite, The Blackwell and The Statesmen. The William Smith Inn is situated on 3.2 acres of land, in the city of Geneva, NY, located in the heart of the Finger Lakes.
