Slow down and step back into simpler times at Handsome Brook Farm. When you come to visit, you can be part of our sustainable farm experience. Help in the Certified ORGANIC berry fields and vegetable gardens, feed and groom the animals, pick fruit and vegetables (in season) or learn how to make homemade pies, jams, or other items using our farm fresh, or other local ingredients (Betsy is an accomplished baker and our preserves and eggs are sold at nearly 100 locations across New York). Each of the rooms has a private bath and the farm house has geothermal heating and air-conditioning.
Romantic and tranquil, the Rose Room is a peaceful haven. Furnished with a large four poster bed and marble inlaid dressers and side tables, it is simply elegant. The full bath features marble inlaid tile surrounds and and custom vanity. Towels are kept warm and inviting on the European towel warmer. From your room, you can step out onto a large deck overlooking the beautiful Handsome Brook….and fall asleep at night listening to the sound of its peaceful waters
The Lodge Room is our largest room, and has the feel of an elegantly appointed Colorado lodge. Fine art fishing prints decorate the walls, and an overstuffed leather chair and oh so comfortable bed awaits you. From your room you can walk out onto the porch, watch the beautiful Handsome Brook run by, and later fall asleep to its peaceful babbling. The elegant bath is appointed with a Jacuzzi tub, European towel warmer, and custom vanity.
This room is decorated in folk art and features a custom designed wall with barn wood which is over a hundred and fifty years old. The room includes two beds – one queen and one single – perfect for parents with a small child. A separate bath for your private use includes a shower, large sink and vanity and is located directly across the hall. This room also has a lovely view of our gardens, Handsome Brook, and the sound of peaceful waters as you drift off to sleep.

We've made the long trek from Los Angeles to New York twice now just to visit this awesome B&B. This charming place is tucked in a small village and offers wonderful seclusion coupled with easy access to nearby tourist destinations and activities. Rooms are very comfortable and impeccably clean, and each look out onto the brook. In the spring and summer you can leave your private sliding door open and listen to the water and the singing frogs... heavenly! The farm features sheep (often with adorable baby lambs in sweaters), chickens, pigs, a cow, and the most affectionate barn cats you'll ever meet. I think there must be something in the water here, because all the animals are amazingly friendly and will readily approach you for cuddles and treats. Be prepared to gain a little weight during your stay, however, as Betsy and Brian are wonderful cooks and will give you hearty, delicious breakfasts and present you with irresistible baked goods in the evenings. Totally worth the calories!

Took a trip to Cooperstown, the Butterfly museum, and even caught an Oneonta Tigers game. Front row! Everything abou this place is top notch!!!! Cant wait for our next visit

This farm is like a page out of your favorite storybook. The landscape is beautiful and the animals are approachable and entertaining for children. The generous breakfast is fresh and sweet and is a great start to any adventure you find unfolding throughout the day in the lush countryside. You will enjoy every aspect of your stay.
