... A Delightful Retreat Built in 1866, the house is second empire style with a beautiful mansard roof faced with original octagonal slate tiles. Reflecting the life of quieter times, the three floors were built with bright sunny rooms to take advantage of ocean breezes. The comfortable veranda is furnished with rocking chairs and shaded by old sycamore trees. We are on a quiet, gaslit residential street in the Primary Historic District. The beach and shops are less than two blocks away. Also within easy walking distance are special year round events: theater, concerts, tours and a choice of the best restaurants in New Jersey.
