I stayed at 1837 Cobblestone Cottage and I can honestly say I have never stayed at a better B&B. This place was just wonderful all the way around. I found out that Kathy and Joe just recently became the new owners of the place. Well let me tell you that they went above and beyond. The place is just in excellent shape. A great downhome feel to the place. It is well maintained. Also the breakfast spreads were just out of this world amazing. I will definitely be recommending this great location to all. Thank you for a great relaxing weekend.

My fiance and I stayed at the Cobblestone Cottage while intown for a family wedding. Kathy made our stay extremely enjoyable! She was great company, a great cook and a great innkeeper! Our room was clean, comfortable and beautiful. The house had enjoyable common areas for us to relax in during our time at the B&B. The B&B has a beautiful view of Canandaigua Lake and is located very close to downtown Canandaigua where we enjoyed some shopping and great restaurants. We highly recomment this B&B to anyone looking to visit Canandaigua!

A perfect get away. Dawn was so welcoming - great energy. We brought our bicycles and took a great ride down West Lake Road. We were able to use the garage to store them. Drove into Canandaigua for dinner - just a few minutes away. Cobblestone Cottage is so Clean and Bright. It really is beautifully decorated and comfortable from the front porches to the guest rooms and all the rooms in between. From the first moment - you feel at home.

Welcoming, open, friendly and well-decorated. Dawn and Tom were terrific hosts and we couldn't have asked for more. Dawn met us on the front porch and instantly made us feel at home. The breakfasts were fantastic and is the only way to start a busy day of walking!

Breakfasts were wonderful and both days were enough to carry us through dinner. Grounds are meticulously kept and the place is quite charming. Rooms are spacious, wi fi easily accessed, nice location with regards to downtown. Dawn and Tom are excellent hosts and extremely helpful with dinner recomendations and what wineries to visit. We really enjoyed our stay and will continue to stay here on subsequent visits. Rich and Lisa

Dawn made us feel very welcome and at home in the beautiful cobblestone house. We relaxed on the front porch before a fabulous breakfast. Dawn was helpful in providing suggestions of restaurants in the area. She even made our dinner reservation at Nolans. We highly recommend a stay at the 1837 Cobblestone Cottage!

Loved loved loved this B&B! The house was cozy yet modern and renovated; it was the perfect mix. The innkeepers(Tom and Dawn) were pleasant and delightful and made us wonderful breakfasts each morning from an egg puff with cinnamon scones to one of the best french toasts I've ever had (with pralines). There were warm chocolate chip cookies waiting for us on arrival. There was tea and coffee daily. I lvoe dthe overall decor inside and out. The property was beautiful with an outdoor deck in the rear and two sepearate quaint porches in the front. The location was fantastic, only steps from the lakefront. I loved th art that was painted by the owner which were showcased throughout. There was a library of books to peruse through and it was just an all around beautiful house and spotlessly clean. We stayed in the honeymoon cottage which was very private and spacious. The only slight complaint was that our heat (which was separate from the rest of the house) was not functioning but the innkeepers placed a portable heater in our room and it was nice and toasty. It is a hidden gem and I'm so glad we stumbled upon it. Our friends stayed at more "known" B7B in the downtown part of Canandaigua but I felt that ours was much more modern and beautiful and just unique overall. We would stay here again in a heartbeat and plan to do so next year as well!

Dawn & Tom made the visit wonderful. We enjoyed seeing a couple get engaged, another on their anniversary and the young couple spending first night after the wedding. The food was wonderful and I loved their company. The dogs made it extra special! Food and room were all A+!

Family wedding brought us to Canandaigua this past week end. Rather than stay at a "cookie cutter" hotel, we chose the Cobblestone Cottage, run by Dawn & Tom and we were sure glad we did. The ambiance created by them is outstanding. The rooms are most comfortable and cleanliness is apparent throughout the cottage. The 2 breakfasts were outstanding, best you could hope for, in quality, presentation and service. These 2 Innkeepers really take pride in what they do. WONDERFUL

My husband and I just concludes a 4 day stay with Dawn and Tom at the Cobblestone. We couldn't have been happier! The food was outstanding - everything made from scratch by Dawn. We were extremely happy with the choices of baked goods -we tried everything - heck we were on vacation. The Praline French Toast was our favorite!!! Lots of pralines, eggs, made with french bread and served with NYS Maple Syrup. What a treat! And we certainly appreciated the colorful and delicious fresh fruit served at the start of breakfast. We were grateful in the fact that Dawn got up early and had a coffee/tea setup at 7:30 with additional munches for us to hold us til the hot meal. Our suite was delightful and clean. The house is Beautiful and the beds were heavenly! In conclusion, we must state that if you are in the Finger Lakes area - a stay at the Cobblestone with Tom and Dawn is a Must. We've been staying in B&Bs for years - this one is by far the Best!

We enjoyed our stay at Cobblestone. Dawn and Tom were super helpful with places to eat and things to do. The attic room is far nicer in person than in the photos ireally enjoyed the egg breakfast days. The French toast breakfast were tasty but too high carb and low nutrition for me. I thought the website mentioned bottled water and cold drinks in the fridge but that was not the case The inside sitting areas are fabulous. Dawn had chocolate chip cookies out every afternoon and in the morning before breakfast some yummy baked item (banana bread, muffins rolls) It had a huge porch to enjoy an evening drink and one side even had views of the lake. The other side of the porch need some serious spider web removal. I never wanted to sit on that side. There is a dried arrangement on the first door entry and 2 nights in a row there was a spider hanging beside it. A different evening snack would have been nice but I did keep eating the cookies. All in all it was a lovely stay and I do recommend them.

Our two day "get-away" was absolutely perfect at the 1837 Cobblestone Cottage in the Finger Lakes. We were greeted by Dawn and given yummy chocolate chip cookies upon our arrival. Dawn and Tom were so welcoming, hospitable and full of knowledge about the home and the area. Breakfast was absolutely delicious and the front porch was so relaxing to sit and enjoy more coffee and take in the beautiful views. Our room was so cozy and the king size bed so comfortable. We only wish we could have stayed longer. We will be returning to 1837 Cobblestone Cottage for our next year's "get-away"! Joe and Pat from Long Island, NY.

To celebrate my birthday my wife and I spent an overnight at the Cobblestone Cottage bed and breakfast. The location and appearance of this historic home was breathtaking and more then we expected. The common area of the interior including the dining area took you back to the decor of that period. The bedroom (Honeymoon Suite) was spacious and decorated to fit that period. The service was outstanding and our hosts Dawn and Tom were gracious and couldn't do enough for you. We plan to return in the near future and spend two or more nights. We are pleased that we selected this B&B for my birthday celebration. Thank you for the hospitality..

I had told the B&B manager that I had allergies and was very allergic to particle board -type furniture, which contains formaldehyde glue. She assured me that the room did not have that kind of furniture and that I "will be fine." When we arrived, I found that the bathroom had a large under-sink cabinet filled with particle board, as did the bed and night stands. We had reservations for 4 nights. I was unable to stay in the room and had to sleep outside on the front porch for 2 nights. We then made arrangements to stay elsewhere and left. The manager refused to refund our payment for the two nights we couldn't use, saying the furniture was from LL Bean which she called "green." I called LL Bean whose customer service representative agreed the furniture did have "fibre board" that could contain formaldehyde. Another LL Bean representative said LL Bean's product specialist didn't know what it contained. I understand that the summer is a valuable rental period for B&Bs in upstate New York. However, under the circumstance, Cobblestone should have refunded the cost of the two nights.

A lovely and gracious home, beautifully appointed with heirloom furniture and original local artwork. A sprawling front porch with wicker and potted plants makes an ideal nook to read the morning newspaper or chat with the other guests. The breakfasts were ample and delicious, and the fellowship of innkeepers Dawn and Tom was exceptional. I highly recommend it!

This is a beautiful interesting cottage with great warmth and class. The location is ideal near the lake. The furnishings are comfortable and the Americana arts and crafts decor is charming. It is bright with natural light, has luxurious linens, gorgeous tableware, a front porch with cushioned wicker and flowering potted plants and the hosts Dawn and Tom are superb engaging people with abundant knowledge of the local area. This home has every amenity for an enjoyable stay and we cannot wait to return! We are seasoned travellers and rate this spot as one of the finest bed and breakfasts anywhere.

My husband and I recently saved at the Cobblestone Cottage and had a very relaxed and pampered stay. Our hosts were gracious and welcoming and the facilities were top notch. Breakfast was delicious and piping hot. We are planning on staying again in the future. The fresh baked chocolate chip cookies on arrival were a nice touch. my husband had to race on Sunday and had washed his water bottles out and left them to dry. We found them later that day filled with ice cubes in the freezer ready to go for the next day and even though he could not stay for breakfast our hosts had packed him a breakfast to take for early in the morning. These gestures are the things that will bring us back again. Thank you Tom and Dawn

Spent one night in this beautiful B&B while attending a CMAC concert. This placed exceeded my expectations in everyday, from the helpful and friendly caretakers to the rooms, grounds and pool! I'll never stay in a hotel in this area again, now that I know about this beautiful location. Can' wait to come back!
5 on July 23, 2012
We loved this B & B. The service was warm and welcoming, the little "attic" room we stayed in was just adorable and completely comfy, with TV, Wi Fi and all the amenities. The bathroom was large enough to accommodate us (some B & Bs that I have stayed at have tiny little bathrooms because they are in older houses). The breakfast was great. I would definitely stay there again. If you go and like a little privacy, reserve the upstairs room.

We have not yet had to opportunity to stay, however Dawn was gracious in giving us a tour. The rooms are all breathtaking and spotless! Can't wait to actually stay here!

We spent a night this past weekend at this lovely B&B with friends. There were three couples, and we took up all the rooms. What a treat it was! Our hosts, Dawn and Tom, could not have been more gracious. The inn is delightfully decorated in a most charming and tasteful manner, including multiple items from Mackenzie-Childs. Each room has its own unique character and decor, and is so comfortable! It’s just a brief drive from the city of Canandaigua, but it feels you are far from town in a peaceful, rural location. Four of us got to enjoy the scrumptious breakfast, and the other two, who were doing a triathlon and had to leave at 5:00 AM, found that while we were out to dinner Dawn had packed them each a “to go” breakfast to take “on the road” to the race...SO appreciated! We would return here in a heartbeat.

We are a couple from Buffalo who traveled to see the Sonnenburg Mansion & Gardens in the Finger Lakes. We found the Cobblestone Cottage on the Internet and quickly made arrangements to stay there. The host (Tom) responded within a few hours to our request. We arrived on a Friday, late afternoon, and were met by Tom's wife Dawn. She made us feel comfortable right away, we felt like we knew her for years. We met Tom shortly after. Like Dawn, he was most hospitable and an excellent host also. It was obvious to us that they had found their "niche" in running this B&B. They had ample brochures of restaurants and things to do in the area. We were there for only one night, but we did find a recommendation that worked out fine for us. They invited us to join them in meeting friends with them at a restaurant that night. We would have, but we preferred to be alone that evening as our lives have been crazy busy of late. The next morning Dawn had a full breakfast of cereal, veggie souffle, french toast, bacon, fruit, juices, coffee, and .............. You could not walk away hungry unless you weren't trying. We parted ways promising to return, not a hard promise to make considering the accommodations. We went to a castle upon their recommendation, had a great time there also. All in all, I would highly recommend the Cobblestone to anyone wanting to do a getaway in the Finger Lakes Region. BTW - the bed was the most comfortable I have ever slept in!!

My wife and I stayed at the Cobblestone cottage in August for a 3 night getaway to celebrate our 25th wedding Anniversary. We had booked the Honeymoon Cottage suite and we were not dissapointed. The room was large, cozy & beautifully decorated. Everything one would need was in the room right down to the terry robes. The house is quite old but has been beautifully renovated to give one a warm comfortable feeling. Kathleen the inkeeper was very friendly and helpful to us seeing that we were not from that area. She recommended some great places to visit on our stay along with some excellent restaurants to try. She even booked one for us. The breakfast in the mornings were really something to look forward to. They were exquisite! We never left the table hungry, that's for sure. This is one B&B that we both hope to revisit one day soon.

Meagan was so friendly, we felt right at home. The room was on the smaller side but tastefully decorated and exceptionally clean. The breakfast (creme brulee french toast) was terrific - and very filling. We would definitely stay again.

Kathleen's artistic talents are evident throughout this historic home. Every room is decorated with taste and color. We recently stayed 6 nights and every breakfast was a delight for the eyes and stomach: Blueberry puff, creme bule french toast, belgian waffles, crustless quiche, egg stata, and cranberry pecan pancakes were all served with bacon, sausage and ham, fresh fruit, juice, yogurt and heart coffee. the morning was such a treat because every detail, from the colorful dishes, lit canles, and soft classical music encourged lively conversation in a beautiful room with plenty of natural sunlight. We enjoyed reading on the wide, sheltered front porch in the afternoon, as well as dipping in the pool to cool off after a day of exploring. Kathleen is interesting to talk to, helpful and always ready to assist.

This was our first B&B experience and it was a treat! Wished we could have stayed longer. The entire cottage is very clean, tastefully decorated and very comfy! The king size bed was plush, the breakfasts were awesome-stuffed french toast, cranberry pecan waffles, fresh fruit...yum! Finnigan and McDuff, Kathleen's Westies, were very well behaved, not noisy at all, and welcomed you whenever you came "home"! I think another trip to the Finger Lakes may be in order with more time spent here!

On a 10 day bike tour of the Finger Lakes region with another couple (staying 1 or 2 days at various B&B's and Inns working our way West to East from Canandaigua to Skaneateles). This was our second stop in our journey to coincide with Canandaigua's Art & Music Festival, and what a wonderful stop it was. Kathleen is a gracious host - she made you feel truly welcomed as if you were staying at a close freind or relative's home. The house was tastefully decorated and impeccably clean, while still being warm and cozy. Beds were very comfortable. It was nice to be able to take a dip in the pool in late afternoon to cool down. Also spent the evening on the porch relaxing after exploring and dining downtown (PS. try the Rio Tomatlan for great Mexican and tequila). Speaking of food, the breakfast Kathleen prepared each morning was wonderful, and the Chocolate Chip Cookies left out in the afternoon were addictive. Overall, highly recommended and would definitely return the next time traveling in the region. Thank you Kathleen, hope to see you again soon.

I have spent many vacations in a B&B. 1837 Cobblestone Cottage is TRUE to it's website unlike some others who mislead with pictures that paint a "different reality" once you get there. The rooms are as charming in real life as they are on the website displaying the warm ambience of the cottage. All the details were attended to from the background music, to the homemade cookies waiting on the table every afternoon, the enchanting decor and the lit candles at our table each morning for breakfast. Kathy was a true, endearing hostess and a FABULOUS cook with her delicious breakfasts. Trust me, you will not go away hungry. This is a "must go to" B&B in such a lovely part of the country on the Finger Lakes in NY.

My husband and I stayed here this past weekend and we just loved this b&b! Kathy was the perfect hostess and innkeeper. She was very warm and welcoming. The home was decorated very beautifully, artistically and tastefully. The attention to details were the icing on the cake (gorgeously scented homeade style soaps and delicious homeade cookies)! Breakfast was excellent. The home was very clean. We stayed in the Honeymoon sweet and loved the privacy of the room as well as the lavish whirlpool tub! I hope to have another reason to visit Canandaguia so we have an excuse to stay at this cottage again. I've stayed at many B&B's and this surpassed all of them by far!

Kathleen is an excellent host. The rooms are spotless, food is excellent...we felt like we were at home (only pampered more). This was more than just a place to sleep for the night, we felt like we connected and a spontaneous hug when we left felt like the natural thing to do. Canandaigua is a beatiful town full of friendly people...make sure you eat at 'Peppers' and try some of the locally brewed 'Naked Dove' beer.

The breakfasts were amazing - I think our favourite was the pecan pancakes. We also both loved the chocolate chip cookies in the afternoons. Kathleen's home is so comfortable and welcoming. We have already recommended this bed and breakfast to our friends and family.

Elegant, tasteful family home. Beautifully appointed. Breakfasts were delicious and ample! Lots of suggestions for things to do and an incredibly interesting tour of the secret attic room (part of the undrground railroad). Fascinating! Stayed 2 nights in October. Would go back in a hearbeat!!

I could not believe how clean/neat it was. the owner was very friendly and accommodating. We had plenty of privacy but also welcomed the other guests. Appreciated the choice of eating privately at our own table or as a group. The only thing we were a little disappointed in was the menu. We have stayed at other B/B's and breakfast was something different and unique. In fact I always asked for the recipe (for example a quiche or some kind of scone, specialty french toast etc.) We were not able to stay long enough to enjoy the outside grounds, pool area and the house itself. We would definitely stay here again.
Thank you for taking the time to review 1837 Cobblestone Cottage and for the compliments. As for the breakfasts, My guests have always complimented my big country breakfasts. The breakfasts are just that! I would ask what was served that morning as I always make sure the hot breakfast is especially "unique" in that it would take great effort to make on your own at home and is especially good to eat. Guests ask that the breakfast not be unique as to loose that country breakfast flavor. Many guests are not ready to take on a morning taste that is unfamiliar to them.

This Bed and Breakfast was incredible. Kathy was wonderful and made our stay very special. The location is close to everything yet away from the hustle and bustle. The breakfasts were delicious and more food than I expected. The cookies in the evenings were a true treat. I highly recommend a stay at this amazing B&B!

...was most delightful - you thought of everything, all your hard work and attention to details was most appreciated and enjoyed - breakfast, well shoot, you and Paula Deane did a "bang up" job on the French Toast and sides...I'd keep her...many thanks again.....Roger & Merle

We had a wonderful stay in this historic home. We chose it because of the history of the home on the Underground Railroad, but there are many reasons to go back. It is clean, spacious, and the owner has truly thought of everything--there is even a basket of toothbrushes in case you need one. The house is very clean, and I had no difficulties with allergies, as I do in many older homes. The food was more than abundant, and was truly delicious. We felt at home, and the owner's artwork is really lovely. The town of Canandaigua is charming. I have stayed in many B & B's, but this one is outstanding!

This inn was a real delight. It's very close to town and the lake. Fresh cookies in the afternoon, a friendly and helpful innkeeper, magazine-quality decor, thoughtful amenities, and delicious breakfast. Wish we could have stayed longer!

This was a beautiful B & B. It was tastefully decorated and just a realy hometown friendly feeling. The bedroom was beautiful and the bed was very comfortable. The grounds around the home are just beautiful and would have liked to spend more time out there. Loved every minute there.

What a beautiful and charming B&B. Very close to to heart of Canandaigua. Each room is decorated with elegance and feel so cozy. We were there in the summer months, but winter would be fantastic as well, with the fireplaces and warm lighting. I was invited by a guest for a party, so I did not have the opportunity to sleep or eat there, but I'm sure I would have been charmed.

My out-of-town relatives absolutely RELISHED their extended weekend stay here for my husband's big birthday family reunion! The bedrooms were super-comfy and roomy; the en-suite bathrooms were charming and well appointed. And the kitchen, living room, porches, TV room and dining room were the perfect setting for our crowd to mingle, relax, laugh, dine, and celebrate such a special occasion. Kathy, the innkeeper, has created the absolute BEST B&B you can imagine. I want to move in! Permanently! I highly recommend renting the whole house. For a short time, you can dream you live in one of the most beautiful places in the world! (Don't miss the Underground Railroad hidden room!) - Heather Ward

Quiet, clean, comfortable beds, great food, amazing spaces, friendly atmosphere. I've stayed in more than a few B&Bs, and this was the best yet!

We have stayed in many B&Bs around the world, and this was, hands down, the finest experience we have had. The hostess, Kathleen Conner, could not have been more gracious and accommodating. We took the Honeymoon Cottage, which is a suite with two bedrooms that we shared with another couple, each of which was immaculate and beautifully appointed. The breakfast was as fine a B&B breakfast as I've ever had. The cottage is located a short walk from Canandaigua Lake, which affords a beautiful background and a nice place to take stroll. i could not recommend it more highly.

Gracious hostess, tasteful decor, bountiful breakfast, comfortable bed, beautiful grounds, great location for exploring the Finger Lakes. All in all, a great B&B-- one we hope to return to some day!

Booked in for 3 nights, then extended our stay an extra unplanned night. Innkeeper was very sociable, and the dogs are charming! Will plan to stay again when in Canandaigua.
