My wife and I, as well as her sister, stayed at Handfinger's Hide-Away for several days, while we were in NY to celebrate our daughter's wedding. We found the accommodations very comfortable, and the service was excellent. Having yummy, healthy food each morning for breakfast, including a well-stocked fridge, helped us relax and deal more easily with the stresses of traveling. Brief conversations with Merrie Handfinger were friendly and helpful, including sage advice about dealing with an unexpected situation. There was easy access to shops and restaurants within a few blocks. Tree-lined quiet streets made it a pleasure to walk around. We recommend this bed-and-breakfast most highly.

    Just like home!!!

Merrie and her family made us feel as if we were a part of their family during our three week stay! This is a great location and a very lovely neighbourhood. We look forward to staying here again and to keeping in touch with Merrie!!

    Thanks from Richmond!

We came up from Richmond, Virginia for a weekend in New York. In our party were a couple of people who had never been to the Big Apple before, and were unsure of what to expect. Our hostess, Merrie Handfinger, greeted us warmly and immediately help set the tone for our entire weekend! The neighborhood is in a great area of Brooklyn with tree-lined streets, huge Victorian houses, and is very convenient to Manhattan and Coney Island, our destinations for the weekend. Merrie gave us all the guidance we wanted, providing maps and advice. The room was a newly redone basement with a separate entrance, one bedroom with a double bed, and a sitting area and bathroom and small kitchen. The couch was a futon that can sleep two and there was a inflatable mattress for an extra body. We has 5 adults in our party and were comfortable for an overnight. A small family would be very comfortable. Merrie stocked the fridge with muffins, cereals, and other yummy treats, including some great Greek yogurt that has since become a staple around our house. We really enjoyed our time at the Handfinger's Hideaway and will stay there again when we go back to New York! Brian and Lisa Richmond, Virginia
