Nice & clean rooms , very comfortable and romantic. Paul & Karen are very friendly & cooperative. It was nice to spend time in this beautyful stay. Though two little deficites: 1. You need a 30 min walk to reach the center 2. the breakfast consisting of only cereals & milk is a bit short to be honest.
Innkeeper Response
Dear guest and dear reader, thank you for your enthusiasm and your nice review. We would just like to respond to your comment about "deficiencies". Most guests love our location Although it is a good 20 mins walk through the beautiful Vondelpark to the city centre, its also a nice, quiet, leafy area on the canal with lots of restaurants within easy walking distance. Our breakfast is indeed simple. It was Rick Steves who has featured us in his guide book for many years, who advised us to offer this kind of simple breakfast so that we could keep our room rate at a reasonable level. There are at least 5 local places you can have a larger breakfast should you want to. Best regards Paul and Karen4.4 out of 5Great place to stay in Amsterdam

Wow, what great accommodations...everything in the description on this website and the B&B website is what you get. The innkeepers provided great info on getting around Amsterdam, amenities in the neighborhood and great restaurant recommendations. Between being next to the canal and nearby Vondelpark it was a perfect spot. the garden room was peaceful and large. I plan on staying there the next time I go to Amsterdam. It is by far one of the best places I have stayed.
4.4 out of 5A great place for a family of 4

This was a great place to stay. They had house keeping everyday. Breakfast available was simple with coffee (both instant and filtered), tea (bags), hot-chocolate and a set of 5 cereals to choose from along with Milk that was provided and the supplies had been kept up every day. Paul was very helpful and provided basic information which proved helpful. Vondel park was just 1 block away and Restaurants are nearby. We liked the Indonesian Restaurant Blauw (I believe and recommended by Paul and Karen) and breakfast place Bean and Bagel. Laundry place nearby was also convenient. There was enough place to park our rental bikes. The notice board with suggestions of a day trip was also very helpful. Public transportation from the place was about 3 to 4 blocks away (5 min. walk). No shoes in the apartment was strange to begin with, but was not a problem. The stairways to the second floor was steep and my younger daughter had problems maneuvering them and I had difficulty taking my 2 big suitcases up and down (although it was only one time each way :-) & Paul helped with 1 of them on our arrival) --Family of 4 (2 adults + 2 kids) from Portland, Oregon, USA

My family and I are into our last night in Amsterdam, still staying here and really do 't feel like leaving! ;) this bed and breakfast is really a gem! The hosts, Paul is very welcoming and helpful in providing maps and tips to getting around when we arrived. The rooms are spotlessly clean and my kids are thrilled to get a treat everyday when we returned. They left kit Kat on their pillows!! Location is superb! A short tram ride to town center or a relaxing walk through a park. Would definately return if we come back to Amsterdam. Highly reccomended!!
4.4 out of 5"The Best"
May 27, 2012
We were in the Netherlands and Belgium for a total of 22 nights and 5 nights were spent here and they were the very best. Everywhere else we stayed...some were said to be a 4 star hotel...was quite a disappointment. This place made such a nice start to our holiday. Thank you for everything.
4.2 out of 5Convenient, Quiet, Good Value!
April 23, 2012
Three days prior to starting a week-long bike and barge trip, we booked into Paul and Karen's guest house just off the Vondelpark. It's very convenient to restaurants and coffee, close to a tram stop, but we walked through the park most of the time just to enjoy seeing all the cyclists going to work and school. Our garden-facing room was extremely quiet, and quite roomy. There is a 3 night minimum stay at this tine of year, but we wanted to spend that amount of time exploring the city anyway. Paul was very helpful in providing a good map and lots of info about trams, etc. We would definitely stay here on another visit to Amsterdam.

My husband and I are going back for the 4th time to Paul and Karens fantasitc B&B in November. It is both our birthdays in November and each year instead of buying presents for each other, we treat each other to a long weekend at this beautiful house. I will always come to Amsterdam and always go to this B&B. I cannot speak highly enough of the comfort, cleanliness, quietness and perfect location. You are a short tram ride to the city centre and there is so much right on the door step too. One word: PERFECTION.
