The hotel is situated on a peninsula in an area of natural beauty, Dragsvik in Balestrand by the Sognefjord. Dragsvik Fjord Hotel is a family hotel with a homely atmosphere and personal service. In 1953 the Farnes family built a small boarding house on farmland. Today’s hosts, who are the third generation of the Farnes family, wish to preserve the intimate and cosy feel of the hotel as this is what the hotel has become known for. The hotel is beautifully situated beside the Sognefjord in the vast nature of Western Norway. On idyllic stretches of the fjord encircled by steep mountains you can try fishing or go on awe-inspiring walks.

The location and the natural setting are our strongest marketing advantages. It is easy to travel here by car, and at the same time enjoy peace and quiet in beautiful natural surroundings. The hotel’s central location in the middle of the Sognefjord is a very good starting point to all alternative day trips in the fjord region. The hotel is situated on what was once a farm where the outside area is highly prioritised and is being developed as a recreational and wellbeing area in the open air. The hotel is 9 km from the cultural area of Balestrand, and guests that arrive by boat from Flåm or Bergen can be collected and taken from the quayside in Balestrand to our hotel. We offer free transport to guests that are staying at the hotel for several nights (min. 2 nights) on arrival and departure. On the short car journey to Dragsvik, the guests have a memorable experience of the quiet Esefjord, with glimpses of the powerful Esefjella mountain; and with a spectacular view over the Sognefjord and towards Balestrand.
