The Inn at Gray's Landing

We discovered this beautiful place for our honeymoon 3 years ago and come twice a year now, on our anniversary and at Christmas to see the beautiful decorations. Lynette is a wonderful hostess and charming lady and the food is to die for! I highly recommend Gray's Landing.

We stayed in the George Washington Capehart Suite which was roomy, beautifully furnished with period furniture, clean and very comfortable. Coffee and snacks were available just outside our room throughout the day and night. We were most impressed with the gracious hospitality of our host and hostess. They went out of their way to make us feel welcome and to share information about the area and local restaurants. Jock's service during the delicious 3-course breakfasts that Lynette prepared made us feel as though we were in a 5 star restaurant. The breakfasts were ample, beautifully presented on the plate. and quite delicious. The two days we spent at the inn were a highlight of our trip to the South and we are looking forward to a return trip to the inn!

The Inn is beautifully furnished with antiques that provide an historic ambiance. The food was OUTSTANDING. And, Lynette and Jock were gracious hosts and made everyone feel like special guests. Can't wait to go back. We highly recommend the Inn at Gray's Landing. D & G

It was my first time to stay in a bed and breakfast inn - the Inn at Gray's Landing in Windsor, North Carolina. I was pleasantly amazed to find the historical value of the 1790 inn preserved, while offering convenient amenities in the green suite. The breakfast and the dinner - ordered on request - was healthy, tasteful, and delicious, and served in fine dining style at the main room with an great ambiance. Great for intimate occasions and group functions. Outside the inn, Christmas lights adorned the B&B. The inn keepers, Lynette Mallery and Jock Scarsborough, were excellent hosts who made a great job at running the inn while relatively new in the industry. Marcia and I had been wanting to visit Ms Lynette in her new place, The Inn at Gray's Landing, for some time and we were so excited that we finally did. We were very happy to get together with her and Mr Eric. Even though I had to travel practically about 10hrs going there and 12hrs coming back because of the circuitous plane route and airport shuttle, it was well worth it. I was pleasantly surprised to see Ms Lynette so busy and always on her toes in the kitchen, very much unlike the professional staff I knew and worked with in an international organization in Manila. I admire her transition from an "office lady" to an innkeeper. Serving her clients sumptuous meals that are so attractively and delicately prepared, she seems unmindful of the tremendous amount of work involved in it, and actually thrives and enjoys doing all these. The Inn at Gray's Landing is such a cozy and yet elegant place to visit and I would highly recommend it to friends.

A gracious, tasteful, relaxing weekend. Excellent food, beautifully served. Excellent beds, linen, showers, and period soaking tub. Comfortable porch for reading, visiting, sipping wine & eating fresh fruit.

Each room or suite at The Inn at Gray's Landing has a different theme, and all are beautifully decorated and kept extremely neat and clean. The bathrooms are all different--all have very modern amenities, and some include classic features as well. The food is exceptional, and the menu varies every day. But it is the ambience of the Inn that really sets it apart. The owners are active in the community, and you can meet the most interesting town residents at the evening get togethers on the back porch.

If you want a calm, peaceful weekend, stay at the Inn at Gray's Landing. The owner will make you fell welcome and you will find yourself relaxing and slowing down to a more relaxed, small town pace. There wil be plenty of time to enjoy the delicious gourmet breakfasts and then take a leasurely stroll on the boardwalk along the river.

What a Pleasant surprise. This B&B is so comfortable and a perfect getaway. Not Pretentious or too overdone with "fru-fru". Lynette is A perfect Hostess And serves A great, Plentiful breakfast.

Each month, I serve a high tea pairing in Philadelphia, France and England and I have decided to have a fourth location in Ahoskie, North Carolina. I was invited to Sunday brunch by wonderful people. They suggested that whatever I do in Ahoskie to do the same in Windsor and help revitalize the area simultaneously. I visited. We were served a three-course brunch. I intend to escape there to be spoiled as I do others. We were served by Lynette's sister Linda in what was their ninth week and well reserved. As a food critic, a location not be missed. The serive and room were outstanding. We stayed in Elisia's Room, and we were amazed at how spacious it was. The Steam Room was a nice addition too. Breakfast was fantastic and very filling. Breakfast was above standard for a B&B. Would definitely recommend this place!

We stayed in this inn over a year ago and have not since forgotten the entertaining cocktails and discussions with locals on the back porch in the evening- the beauty of our well appointed suite with a sitting room- the luxury of the sheets (triple sheeted beds- quite rare for eastern NC) and the gourmet breakfast. The innkeepers were lovely and the gardens are truly beautiful! This is a gem as the setting is so gorgeous without having overly stuffy hospitality- We hope to return!

The inn is a beautiful B&B. The rooms are spotless and the service, including food, was 5 star. We'll definitely plan a return visit to this B&B! The price/value is just terrific!

We enjoyed staying at B&B's where the owners take a hands on part in all the running of the B&B. At Gray's Landing attention is paid in every detail.

For years we have been staying at bed and breakfast inns. Gray's Landing is by far the best. The inn is attractive, our room was large, and the bed very comfortable. Our shower was wonderful. The food is gourmet and delicious. We found lots to do within a 1/2 to 1 hour drive. Their Back Porch is wonderful for socializing. We look forward to returning again and again.

The restoration of this historical home is quite charming. I stayed in the library where the B&B owner displayed many of her souvenirs from her extensive travels. The best part of this B&B were the exquisite 3-course breakfasts. These were some of the best gourmet food I have ever eaten!

I was amazed at the beauty and comfort of this B&B in such a small town! Windsor is very tranquil. The owners, food and service make this town a real destination!

My first stay at a B&B was absolutely unforgettable thanks to the Inn at Gray's Landing. Lynette and Jock are absolutely wonderful hosts--who have wonderful stories, as they've lived around the world--with a beautiful historic home. The 3-course, gourmet breakfasts were memorable, the rooms were just lovely, and the back porch is a perfect place to enjoy a refreshment on Friday and Saturday nights. Windsor is a charming town and Bertie County is a perfect introduction to rural North Carolina. I look forward to returning with friends and family!

This farm is an achitectual gem in the middle of an exciting historical area! Comfortable, ful gourmet breakfasts!

The Inn at Gray's Landing was an oustanding experience for us. Our rooms were spacious, roomy, and very unique. Lynette and Jock made sure we had all we would need and answered questions about the history of the house and town of Windsor. What we really found to be a surprise beyond our expectations was the gourmet three-course breakfast. The next time I pass through Windsor I will joyfully stay again.

Our hostess made us feel at home at once. Then, throughout our stay, she and her husband supplied our evey need -- coffee after supper, good companions etc.

Our 2nd time staying at this B&B- seems like stepping into another era. the house is so lovely with antiques galore. the shower-spa was like a small room with beautiful granite. Close enough to walk to town and the river.

The Inn is easy to find, and located in a peaceful small town. The inside decor is gorgeous and yet so comfortable. I felt at home the moment I walked in. The bed was more comfy than my own, and there is a choice of pillows for use. This is a great value for the money. By far the best breakfast I have ever had at a B&B. I was begging for receipes!! The hospitality that Lynette presented exceeded what I expected, and I was thouroughly pleased with the entire stay. I will most definitely return.
