Inn on Main Street

Since Dr. Zebulon Robinson built this Victorian structure in 1900 as his home, office and lodging for visitors taking in the summer airs, this house has enjoyed a reputation for hospitality. Only 10 minutes from Asheville, the Inn on Main Street is also 100 years into the country and small-town America. Walk to galleries and fine dining, or kick off your shoes and relax on the huge porches. Let owners Dan and Nancy Ward show you mountain hospitality.

In warm months, the back porch is the ideal spot for breakfast or evening refreshments. From here guests can see the Black Mountain Range, the highest peaks in the Blue Ridge Mountains and the tallest east of the Rockies. The Ayers Room has a king bed that converts to twins on request. It takes up half the second floor of the house and features a huge bath with tub and shower, gas fireplace and lots of windows.
The Monroe Room features lovely antique oak furnishings with handcarved details, a full-size bed, private bath with shower and nice view of the mountains. The Kiser Room is romanticly decorated in mahogany furnishings, including an enormous queen bed with filigree headboard. The bay room, on the second floor above the parlor, has a private bath with shower.
The Robinson Room, named for the physician who built the house, is located on what was once the back porch. The furnishings are white wicker and a brass queen bed. The bath features an old-timey tub as well as shower. The Lee Room can have either twin beds or a king. It is conveniently located on the first floor near the front door, and features a gas fireplace and private bath with shower.
The Forest Room, in our cottage, is a perfect private getaway. It has a high-backed queen bed, knotty pine paneling and dark oak furnishings, a gas fireplace, individual air conditioner and private bath with shower. The Garden Room, with queen bed, gas fireplace, individual air conditioner and private entry, has always been popular, but is now more so with the addition of a whirlpool tub for two and remodeled bathroom.
The parlor is authentically Victorian, yet comfortable and inviting.
