Brookside Mountain Mist Inn

About

What makes Brookside Mountain Mist Inn so special? We're not your typical old, Victorian-style bed and breakfast. Built in the 1950's, this ranch-style bed and breakfast offers over-sized rooms, fireplaces, private baths and sitting areas. The wormy chestnut paneling in the enormous living room provides a warm, and somewhat rustic, feel to this elegant, luxury inn. The inn's most dramatic feature is the spectacular view of the mountains seen from the back patio & fireplace deck, as well as the huge bowed window in the living room and over-sized picture window in the dining room. The Inn is also conveniently located across the street from a 27-hole, Donald Ross designed golf course and only one mile from downtown Waynesville with great shopping, galleries, restaurants and theaters. We want you to feel as though you never left home when you stay with us. With that in mind, we offer spa robes for use during your stay. We also provide blow dryers, magnified make-up mirrors, iron & ironing boards, soaps, shampoo, lotions, make-up removal kits & cloths. Each room also has a charging station for cell phones and tablets. Your room also comes with a late-afternoon snack each day, three-course breakfast each morning, complimentary beverages throughout the day and use of our Rainy Day Closet with over 150 DVD's, games, cards and lending library. Let us be "Your Luxury Smoky Mountain Escape"!

Quite the Find!

4.6 on August 16, 2016

To our surprise, and pleasure, this B&B was quite the find! The inn keepers make you feel right at home (friendly and comfortable- not over bearing), extremely helpful with all suggestions and spot-on with directions on how to get there. The rooms are spacious and impeccably clean. The outside patio is a little piece of heaven with their manicured grounds and heavenly view of the mountains. Give yourself a pampered treat and stay at this lovely inn!! My husband and I only stay at B&Bs, and this one was a favorite. Oops...can't forget Dina's yummy breakfasts...bring your appetite!

Outstanding B&B

The innkeepers when out of their way to be helpful and were a joy to be around. The breakfast was exceptional. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip.

Oregonians visiting the Waynesville NC Area and found this charming B&B

5 on August 06, 2016

Best B&B yet! The accommodations, setting, food and hospitality were the best. And they thought of all the little things that can make a difference in your stay. Carolyn provided us with great suggestions on sites in the area and we found her advice to be excellent. We visited lookout points on the Blue Ridge Parkway that provided views as good or better than what we saw in the Smokies...and without all the hundreds of other tourists. And Dina's breakfasts were outstanding and they accommodated our dietary needs. We would highly recommend this B&B and we certainly will visit again if we are ever in the area.

Couldn't have been more pleased.

What a great discovery. A beautiful home in a beautiful setting and the most welcoming "innkeepers" that we have experienced anywhere. Make sure you plan for a waist band that expands.....breakfast to die for.

An Inn Not To Be Mist

5 on June 18, 2016

The Brookside Mountain Mist Inn is simply a great place to stay. Carolyn and Dina are amazing hosts. They have thoughtfully and tastefully built the Inn to provide both comfort and luxury. The beautiful, extensive and well-kept grounds are a joy to behold, reflecting the care and love our hosts have lavished upon our surroundings. There are places all around the grounds to sit in comfort and enjoy the peace and serenity offered by the inn. Our room (Palms) was very clean, comfortable, tastefully decorated and contained every creature comfort a traveler could wish for. The room was large, and offered comfortable chairs for relaxation should the weather not be all that it could be. The bathroom was both spacious and well fitted out. Breakfasts were tasty, healthy and delicious. Carolyn and Dina seem to have thought of every item to make their guests feel welcome and at home. Few larger and much more expensive hotels reach these standards. No question, we will be visiting this Inn again before too long. Pam & Barry

The nicest B&B I've stayed at. Dina and Carolyn take great care of you and treat you like family. Love our stay there. Fantastic food!!! The house was spotless and the grounds were beautiful. Could not have asked for a better place to stay or better treatment.

An incredible experience

My husband and I just returned from our second visit to Brookside, and Carolyn and Dina welcomed us as if we were familly coming home. They have the most amazing knack for attending to every detail, large or small, to make your stay remarkable. This lovely home is immaculately clean, and Dina's breakfast creations are magical!

Relaxing Getaway

Carolyn and Dina are wonderful hosts. They are helpful, courteous and friendly, but also give you plenty of space for alone time. Their house is beautiful inside and out. The location is great too. Waynesville has lots to offer for shopping, dining and also some fun breweries. And, it's a quick drive into Asheville. The food at the Inn is amazing! The breakfasts are so delicious and the afternoon cookies are too. We had a fantastic visit and hope to return again soon.

About the innkeepers

The best part of running a B&B is getting to meet people from all over the world. We both enjoy making people happy. Carolyn does it with wit and humor, while Dina uses her culinary skills in the kitchen!

Signature Dish

Blueberry Cloud
We start with a layer of blueberries then cover that with a layer of sour cream mixed with vanilla. We then put the final layer on top, consisting of brown sugar, and place the ramekins under a broiler. We broil them just until the sugar carmalizes and the blueberries begin to burst. The ramekins are then placed in the refrigerator overnight to cool. We top the blueberry cloud with whipped cream and a sprig of fresh mint.
