5 out of 5Great Experience!
February 18, 2013
My husband and I really enjoyed our 3 day stay! The hosts were friendly and helpful and we loved hearing all of the stories they told us about the history there. The house, deco, and artwork is so interesting and different, so if you like things that are a bit different this is the place to go. We stayed in the Gary Spivey suite and fell in love with that room! A very generous, delicious breakfast is served each morning and there's a friendly white dog who greets you outside which I found to be a pleasant addition to the entire experience! A great place for a couple's get-a-way and is very close to all the area pottery and antique shops which makes for great shopping! We will definitely go back again! Robbie Tedder, Kernersville NC.
5 out of 5Birthday stay at The Star Inn
July 30, 2012
This was a great piece of history. We went to Star NC without plans so we explored the surrounding areas. We visited Town Creek Indian Mount, the Ashboro zoo, pottery stores, antique malls, found a great restaurant call bistro 42 & small local diners. My personal favorites were the rose garden & chandeliers at The Star Inn. The owners were sweet as pie and breakfast was GREAT. Roxie & Adam 7/7/12

July 29, 2010
The people were very welcoming and made us feel at home. Innkeepers were available during breakfast and had many interesting stories about the history of the Inn. Our suite was great and we really enjoyed the decorations and decor of the entire hotel and grounds. One issue with the facility was the HVAC, when we arrived it was too cold and then the room got very stuffy and hot during the middle of the night. Probably our biggest disappointment was with the breakfast, it had no gourmet elements and was prepared mostly from pre-packaged foods (biscuits, hashbrowns, etc.). Nothing was particularly wrong with it, but it was below expectations when staying in a place like this.
5 out of 5What a "SHOCK" Hard to Believe
December 05, 2009
I Was raised in Star and went to Star school, I remember the Star Hotel when It wasn't this nice. I could not believe what I witnessed, it is totally beautiful. The furnishings and decor are outstanding, this place is built for comfort. The food was out of this world, and the service and variety that Richard and is wife provide toward your every need cannot be matched. You will enjoy your stay here and I would recommend it to anyone who wants that special place to take that special someone. It is very romantic. You will not be disappointed. Gary, congratulations to you and your efforts, Well done.

2.4 out of 5A lot of potential...
May 08, 2009
The beautiful front porch surrounded by the blooming azealas is a fantastic set up for the potential of this B&B. Once inside, the ecceletic furnishings give this B&B a jumbled up feeling. Many of the furnishings are very large and heavy, filling up small spaces. With stories of the founding of the house known to us during our stay, we could appreciate where the B&B started and where it will hopefully go. Star NC has very little to offer for dining in the evening, but has beautiful grounds, to include a rose garden, for a evening picnic.
5 out of 5Phenomenal B & B!
January 25, 2009
I just got back from a weekend at the Star Hotel Bed and Breakfast. Joyce and Richard are excellent innkeepers and did everything in their power to make the weekend wonderful. The accommodations are top notch with wonderful antiques, beautiful paintings, a relaxing atmosphere, warm fires in the fireplaces, and superb food. If one wants to visit places anywhere in the area, this is both the best value and the best experience. We went to the zoo and area potteries; both are just up the road. This is the best B & B I've ever stayed at. You will not be disappointed.
5 out of 5What an experience!!
December 01, 2008
Who would have thought such a small town as Star, NC would have had such a wonderful B&B?? Just goes to show you'big things do come in small packages' !!! This was my 'world wide traveler' sisters first experience in a B&B. Her impression "everything will pale compared to this". We had the privilege to meet the owner for the weekend and he and his sister and her husband (the innkeepers) went all out the make my sisters experience absolutely the best. But I think from the weekend that they were used to treating all their guests "as the best". They were too good at it!!
5 out of 5What a great place!

Our family held a baby shower at the Inn and it was one of the best we have ever had. The atmosphere of the Inn is great. The innkeepers, Joyce and Richard Wallace, are so very helpful and friendly that they seemed like part of the family. The opportunity to tour the entire Hotel and grounds was enjoyed by everyone! It made the shower very unique with a historical aspect. We would definitely recommend this site for any event! Toni M. Goodwin. Ether N.C.
