Located in historic downtown Rutherfordton, the 1925 City Hall and Firehouse has been entirely renovated, and now offers European elegance and urban atmosphere in a friendly, relaxed setting. The Firehouse Inn is located in the 1925 City Hall and Fire Department building in Rutherfordton, North Carolina. The building was one of three major public buildings erected in the town in the 1920’s and early 1930’s. It is a richly-designed Colonial Revival-style brick building with stone/cast stone enrichments.
The Firehouse Suite is the Master Suite at The Firehouse Inn. It offers a spacious place to relax at the desk, on the king-size bed, or to drink coffee and watch TV by the fireplace. There is also a large walk-in closet for your personal belongings. In the private bathroom is a shower, full-sized jacuzzi, 2 sinks and ample closet space. Our Innkeeper is a professional English butler and would be more than happy to arrange a romantic Rose Petal Bath. Be sure to order this special service when you make your reservation.

Bedroom 2 is a beautiful room with a high ceiling, a loft area above with two twin beds for guests, and a fireplace. The Queen-size bed provides a great place to spread out, or lounge in one of the chairs and watch television. The bathroom has a walk-in shower and a large sink area.
Adorned in elegance, Bedroom 3 at The Firehouse Inn is one of our favorites. The simplistic style and bright colors create a sense of comfort and rejuvenation. Choose to lounge on the Queen size bed, sit by the fireplace, or do some work away from the office at the desk. This bedroom also offers a spacious loft with two twin beds. In the bathroom, there is a tub and a walk in shower.
Bedroom 4 at The Firehouse Inn offers the most privacy of any of the rooms here. Although it doesn't have a fireplace, it offers an ambiance of coziness and warmth. Its high ceilings are accentuated by rich, warm colors and the intimate setting provides an inviting, relaxing environment for you to take advantage of. Get a good night's sleep on our king-size bed with a leather headboard, and enjoy the comfort of a private bathroom with a walk-in shower.

Within the suite you will find a comfortable living room with comfortable furniture. There is a desk and chair with appropriate lighting for those busy business travelers. A table with 4 chairs provides ample space for dining. Suite features 2 double tempurpedic beds and 1 regular double bed. Included in the suite is a microwave oven and a small refirgerator. It is a beautiful inn and very spacious. I LOVE the antique style and the loft in our room! A lot of space for the price! Great Value. The only recommendation I have is to change the way breakfast is served. Breakfast is only served at 8:30 on the dot and you do not get a choice as to what you would like to eat. I would rather have a buffet style and a 2 hr window of time to eat. We like to sleep in and didn't like that we had to wake up early on vacation and didn't get a choice for breakfast and had to eat a selection of food that was not our favorite. Other than breakfast, we loved our stay at the Firehouse Inn and would recommend it to friends!!

We have stayed in the Firehouse Inn twice while on business trips in Rutherford County, and are absolutely in love with this bed & breakfast! The rooms are immaculate and well-appointed. Each is unique and has some of the nicest sheets and beds you'll ever sleep on. Sandy the innkeeper makes a delicious breakfast each morning and will entertain you with delightful conversation. Walking distance to some great restaurants, and a quick drive from virtually everything. We wouldn't stay anywhere else in the region.

I've stayed here once per year for the last five or six years. I love everything about the Firehouse Inn except the noise. The rooms are beautiful and very comfortable; however, this is not the place to come if you're looking for peace and quiet. I have stayed in all but one of the rooms and unfortunately each has the same issue - you can hear everything going on in the kitchen/dining room, main hallway, etc. Last year I paid a premium to stay in the suite. While very comfortable and luxurious, the bedroom is right outside of the kitchen. We were woken by one guest's early (5 am) coffee service, and then we were woken again at 8 am while breakfast was being made. Very, very frustrating. Most recently, I stayed in Room 5 which is described on the website as the most private of all the rooms. It is the furthest away from the kitchen. Unfortunately the bottom of the door to the room didn't meet the floor so we again heard everything from conversations in the kitchen to guests entering and leaving the property. I wish the Innkeeper would address the noise and install some heavy doors that would block the noise. Other than that, my family loves the Inn. Sandy, hostess extrodinaire, will bend over backwards for you. She really makes you feel at home and does everything she can to make your stay a memorable one. Overall, I would recommend this place if you aren't anal about noise.
