Located in historic downtown Rutherfordton, the 1925 City Hall and Firehouse has been entirely renovated, and now offers European elegance and urban atmosphere in a friendly, relaxed setting. The Firehouse Inn is located in the 1925 City Hall and Fire Department building in Rutherfordton, North Carolina. The building was one of three major public buildings erected in the town in the 1920’s and early 1930’s. It is a richly-designed Colonial Revival-style brick building with stone/cast stone enrichments.

Very enjoyable stay. The rooms were wonderfully appointed and were spotless. It was a comfortable setting with snacks and baked goods available 24/7. The location was a convenient stroll to downtown Rutherfordton. But the best part of the experience was dealing with Sandy who cooked, cleaned and basically singlehandedly ran the bed and breakfast. She was very conversational and helpful with her local knowledge and wit. All said, The Firehouse Inn was a most pleasant stay I'd recommend to anyone

Checked in late and left before breakfast but appreciated instructions and keys left for me and availability of coffee, tea and cake for a snack! Hope to meet innkeepers next visit! I will be back soon.

My guest absolutely love to stay at the Firehouse Inn! They could stay anywhere else in Rutherford County or near Rutherford County…they always tell me to book them at the Firehouse Inn! They have stayed there a lot over the past couple months! Thank you for making it such a great stay!

We had a very nice stay at the Firehouse Inn. It is a historical structure and was very appealing to us. The room, dining room, hallway and entrance were beautifully decorated. The innkeeper was very knowledgeable about the history surrounding the inn and entertained us with the stories of its past and present. I would recommend this inn and would love to stay there again.

I truly enjoyed my visit to the Firehouse Inn, and their willingness to accomodate me, my friend and my cat. Sandy prepared a tasty breakfast each morning, which included pleasant conversation and her insight to the community. We also took advantage of the coffee, danish and flavored ice water available throughout the day. My only criticism would be about the room not having its own thermostat to control the heat. Two of the four nights there it got very hot in the room, which probably was in response to the first night being too chilly for this Florida girl. But I wouldn't hesitate to return again. Kittie and Sandy make you feel very much at home. It's a very relaxing atmosphere.

We love this inn - the rooms are beautifully decorated and comfortable. The staff person in charge (Sandy) makes it feel as you are a guest in someone's home. We have visited many B&Bs during the past 30 years and this is one of our favorites.

Having grown up in Rutherford County, we return often and always stay at The Firehouse Inn. Sandy is charming, a great cook and very helpful. The Inn is so comfortable and wonderfully decorated. We love the quiet, peaceful atmosphere. We always try to get the suite because my husband loves the jacuzzi. And, of course, we love downtown. After all, it is our hometown. Even if you are just "passing thru", you need to experience this inn.

Once again, the Firehouse Inn exceeded all expectations we had. Our room was incredibly comfortable, welcoming, and warm. It is very obvious to us that someone put a lot of time and thought into making that place both charming and delightful. Never will we stay in a hotel again because the Firehouse Inn truly feels like home. I feel very blessed to have found this little gem of a place. We loved it and I am sure that you will too.
