Located in historic downtown Rutherfordton, the 1925 City Hall and Firehouse has been entirely renovated, and now offers European elegance and urban atmosphere in a friendly, relaxed setting. The Firehouse Inn is located in the 1925 City Hall and Fire Department building in Rutherfordton, North Carolina. The building was one of three major public buildings erected in the town in the 1920’s and early 1930’s. It is a richly-designed Colonial Revival-style brick building with stone/cast stone enrichments.

We enjoyed our stay immensely. The loft was such a hit with the young ones we had with us. They have already asked to return! The Inn is beautiful and the attention to detail was very nice. Breakfast and its presentation was good and the innkeeper very friendly. This is our second visit and we love the Inn and continue to be impressed.

A historic firehouse built in the 1920's and redesigned for living in luxury, the inside common area is huge with multiple sofas, tables, chairs, fireplace and a grand piano. Plus there is a lovely private outside courtyard. The co-owner of this fabulous inn, Kitty, allowed our 70 pound dog to stay with us, too (he stayed in our suite during breakfast). The hot breakfast was served at 8:30am daily, was different every day and was always absolutely delicious. We stayed in room 1, the Firehouse Suite, with a king size bed, love seat, private fireplace, jetted tub, 2 bathroom sinks, super shower with 2 shower heads, walk-in closet with ironing board, plush robes with slippers, free wifi and more. The only disadvantage was everything is on the second floor, so you need to walk up a flight of stairs. We will definitely be staying at this wonderful inn again in the future. It was GREAT!

My husband and I spent our Wedding Night in the Firehouse Suite (June 4th, 2016)! It was the perfect jumping off point for our honeymoon. The suite was perfect, the atmosphere was perfect, breakfast was perfect, our fellow inn guests were perfect, Sandy was a perfect hostess! We will be coming back next year for our anniversary! See you then Firehouse Inn! - Melissa & Brian Vaughan

Just came back from our 4th stay at the Firehouse Inn. We love this place. I am not really a "bed and breakfast" person but this place is different. I almost don't want to publish such a high rating because they are already full most of the time. But if you get a chance to stay there - do it!
Thank you for your kind word. We will look forward to your next visit.

This is the second time I have stayed at the Firehouse Inn. Overall we enjoyed our stay - breakfast was adequate - not special but I will stay again when I travel to Rutherfordton

Room was lovely, service was great. My only criticism would be the breakfast; it was mediocre.

Conveniently located, historic building with beautifully decorated and very comfortable accommodations. The room was very comfortable with perfect bed and plush towels. Breakfast was delicious served in a nicely restored hall. Location was walking distance to interesting shops, brewery, biking trail and good choices in restaurants. We have highly recommended it as we have continued our travels.

We love The Firehouse Inn! This was our second visit, and it is such a great place. We love driving to Lake Lure and Chimney Rock, and Asheville is an easy drive as well. I highly recommend this lovely inn to anyone and everyone!

Choose to lounge on the Queen size bed, sit by the fireplace, or do some work away from the office at the desk. This bedroom also offers a spacious loft with two twin beds suitable for children. In the bathroom, there is a standard tub and a shower.
