Carrier Houses Bed and Breakfast

This was our first stay at Carrier House and had stayed in a bed and breakfast before and were not that impressed. Carrier House exceeded our expectations and gave us what we felt a B & B should be!. My husband and I were there for a long weekend in the fall and truly fell in love with this place. Dan and Lynn made us feel so welcome and made sure that no one left the breakfast table hungry, which was always delicious. Thanks for a great stay and latting us be a part of your Christmas with your ornaments!!

My husband and I stayed for just one night for a quick getaway to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary, and didn't want to leave! Dan and Lynn are great hosts, that really make you feel welcome. This was our first stay in a bed and breakfast, and we loved it! They have jigsaw puzzles out, in the parlor, and I loved that! The breakfast was delicious, Lynn really has a talent in the kitchen! I also loved that you didn't have to be at the kitchen table at a certain time to eat, they actually give you a timeframe, which is way more relaxing and convenient. My wife and daughter were in town for the night, and I surfed to find them a nice hotel to stay in the area. The prices at Carrier House here were similar to the area 2.5 star(and above) hotels, and it made me feel good to know that it would be a secure location and have an excellent breakfast. They really enjoyed the stay. My daughter is vegetarian and my wife does not eat pork, and they modified the recipes to make an AMAZING breakfast.

My wife & I have stayed with Lynn several times since 1999 and never disappointed.

The proprietors were extremely gracious and helpful. We enjoyed breakfast very much -- tasty, good portion size, and nicely presented. The rooms are interestingly decorated with Victoriana, which was fun to see (and including the stories of the local gentry who are represented). Our (specific) room was perhaps a little cramped as a result, which is probably not a problem for most people except those with mobility limitations. All in all we would definitely return to the Carrier House if we were in the area again. This (2012) will be the 225th anniversary of the founding of the town, so a 'vacation' visit to the area would probably be extra fun.

This was our second time at the Carrier House and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Loved chatting with the innkeepers Dan and Lynn. Breakfast delicious and accommations great. Appreciate the fact that it is affordable and we will definitely be back when in the area. Thanks again for the hospitality.

My husband and I truly enjoyed our two night stay over the Thanksgiving holiday. We hope to stay at the Carrier Houses the next time we're in Rutherfordton. Quaint facilities, Very Clean, Friendly Inn Keepers, and an Excellent Breakfast.

Great price and quality on our stay. Great hosts too! Breakfast was a bit smaller than what I have experienced at other B&B's, but all-and-all was a wonderful experience.

Hosts are so helpful - anything you could want they could provide or tell you where to get it! Quiet and peaceful location. Great value. Tip - eat at The Water Buffalo.

Charming historic house in the center of town. Dan and Lynn are friendly hosts who serve yummy breakfasts and accommodate your requests. Comfortable, well-appointed room. A great place and a great value, too. Will stay there again.

I stayed here the night before I had to take a State nursing exam. The owners did everything they possibly to accomodate me...like being sure that I had breakfast before I left even though I had to leave before the scheduled breakfast time. Highly recommend!

We enjoyed a nice quiet weekend at the Carrier House. The innkeepers were very nice. The breakfast each morning was very good and so was the company.

I was looking for a place near Chimney Rock park, and the Carrier Houses was the cheapest and best reviewed in the area, and I was not disappointed. The rooms were very quaint and comfortable. Both of the owners were kind and very attentive. The entire place was clean, and the town of Rutherfordton was just a nice quiet small town. Overall, I would wholeheartedly recommend the Carrier Houes!

Lynn and Dan are very nice , we felt at ease right away , conversation easy and relaxed. Our room was cosy and quite with lovely decorations through out the house . We accidently spilt wine on the bedspread , Lynn was very kind about sorting out that mess , no worries at all . We highly recommend Carrier House Bed and Breakfast .

The friendliness of the proprietors, and the opportunity to converse with folks from other areas, made our stay so enjoyable.

Beautiful home, very sweet owners, very accommodating to us to make our stay very pleasant for me and for my 2-year-old daughter.

This was our first time staying at a bed and breakfast and wont be our last! Dan and Lynn are wonderful hosts! All I can say is "wow!" about the food! Rutherfordton is within an hours drive of tons things to do. So if you want a great value in a great town, Carrier House is the place! p.s. if you are the outdoor type dont miss Dupont forest, Triple falls and High falls are worth the hike!

We enjoyed our stay here, refreshed and relaxed by the quiet setting and friendly hosts. Rutherfordton is a short drive from scenic mountain areas. Great base for a getaway.

The B&B had beautiful rooms at a great price. It is within walking distance to everything in town. Lynn and Dan were so nice and very accomodating. The breakfast was not only tastey but also very visually appealing. I would highly recommend a stay here. My sister-in-law and I loved it.

We had a lovely room and it was so peaceful . We loved the history and the owners were very pleasant. Enjoyed our stay greatly.

Everything was excellent with only one exception: the TV in our room would only receive 2-3 cable channels that were viewable.

This is a great Bed & Breakfast. Lynn was very accommodating and the breakfast was excellent. The rooms are charming, clean and comfortable. The location is perfect for an evening walk around the village.

Dan & Lynn could not be nicer. The Inn was so comfortable and the breakfasts were fabulous! Have stayed in lots of B&B's and the Carrier House is at the top of the list.

We only stayed one night - visiting relatives in the area and on the move, but it was a very enjoyable stay. We loved the furnishings, pictures, history, etc. Just wish we had more time to visit with Dan and Lynn to hear more about the place and local history.

This place was a real find. The delicious food, reasonable rates and gracious hospitality of the hosts made for a wonderful stay. We will go back!
