Woodburn Cottage

George and Gretchen are an amazing and welcoming couple. The house is a dream as well as the house's environment. Breakfast is fresh and delicious, save some time to talk to George about the city's history. I hope to be back soon!

Staying at the Woodburn Cottage was a totally unexpected fantastic experience! The hosts were very friendly, hospitable, interesting and well-traveled! The suite with jacuzzi was very inviting and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent and not something you find anywhere. In fact, if the innkeepers just had a breakfast restaurant, the lines would be long to get in! Superb weekend! Would definitely return!

An excellent stay in this beautiful cottage. George and Gretchen is an adorable couple. The location of the cottage is also attractive, not to fare form town, next to some shopping/dining area and very important in a green and quiet place. As promised, I came back to Woodburn Cottage and earlier than I'd expected. The charm quiet and corn pancakes lured me back as well as the experience of being cared for well. Thank you again for this home away from home.

What a great B&B! The location, near the university and close to downtown, was great. But hosts Gretchen and George were awesome! And the breakfasts were delicious; we'd love to return here!

I look forward to returning to this charming home away from home. The owners are warm and attentive, yet as professionals they respected my privacy. I don't want to leave. The rooms were wonderfully appointed. The jacuzzi was a gift.

My girlfriend and I had a fantastic anniversary weekend getaway and Woodburn Cottage and innkeepers George and Gretchen were a major part. Woodburn Cottage itself is beautiful, but George and Gretchen's wonderful, above and beyond hospitality and the delicious breakfasts they prepared really make this a top-notch choice if you're looking for a bed and breakfast! We didn't want to leave!

My husband and I attended the Weekend to Remember marriage retreat, and Woodburn Inn was the perfect place to celebrate and refresh our commitment to putting our marriage first. Service was friendly and helpful, yet non-invasive. Breakfast was unique and delicious. Our room was beautiful and cozy. We will definitely return!

Sept, 2009 - Everything about my stay at this inn was wonderful. It looks small in the picture but it's not. The owners are so kind and friendly. The room was excellent and the inn itself has a very unique decor and the breakfast was superb. My friend and I want to go back just to stay there again (we went for a concert). Bonnie Murphey

This beautifully restored Arts & Crafts bungalow provided the lovely backdrop to a quick stay in Raleigh. Gretchen & George are charming & gracious hosts. Their warm & engaging conversation was informative & extremely helpful. The breakfast was delicious & artistically presented. The furnishings within the home are true to the craftsman style.

We had a wonderful overnight. Our hosts were friendly. Room extremely clean and pretty, breakfast great!

From arranging for champagne and roses to recommending restaurants in the city. George and Gretchen were extremely accomadating and were the best hosts you could hope for. Will recommend to all of my friends.

After 4+ hours on the road, one lane traffic on Interstate 95, I arrived to true hospitality at Woodburn Cottage. From shining the flashlight to make sure that I didn't miss the driveway in the dark, to a fire-side chat, George and Gretchen did not miss a beat! I feel refreshed!

George and Gretchen were wonderful and Woodburn Cottage is as lovely as it looks! My fiance and I stayed in the Garden Room, many things throughout the house were local made-including this beautiful pair of green sinks and the soaps that were in the tub area! Loved eveything from the hospitality to the food! We ate dinner a short walk away at Frazier's which was delicious :) I would recommend Woodburn to anyone staying in the area!
