From Interstate 77 or Interstate 74 you will take either of those hwy's to (52 South) take 52 South to the Pilot Mountain State Park Exit at the bottom of the exit ramp make a left (pass the entrance to the State Park) & go under the bridge that 52 crosses over & we are on the left (New Pilot Knob Lane) take 1/2 mile to the office. From Charlotte/Concord Area take 85 to 40 w to 52N to Pilot Mountain State Park Exit at the bottom of the exit ramp at the stop sign make a left & immediate right onto New Pilot Knob Lane we are 1/2 mile up gravel road on left to the office.

    We had a great anniversary weekend. We only wish we could have stayed longer. We arrived Friday evening in the dark, which was a little scary because it is truly in the woods. We stayed in the SW cabin and it was wonderful. The next morning is when we really were able to appreciate the beauty of the property and the area in general. We also went to a nearby park to hike and see waterfalls. It was a really enjoyable weekend. The cabins/suites were very private and romantic. We definately plan to return!

    We spent our wedding night in the Pilot Knob Inn 6 years ago, and have always wanted to come back and stay in one of the cabins. We finally did it for our 6th anniversary and it was great. We stayed in cabin #2 for Friday/Saturday nights and it was rustic, but charming and romantic. The cabin was clean and private and Jennifer and Kathy were great at attending to us at breakfast each morning. The breakfast is outstanding and their service is extraordinary. I highly recommend a stay at the Pilot Knob Inn, and I know we will definitely try to come back before another six years passes. Thanks so much for a wonderful weekend.

    We just returned from a 3 nt stay at the Pilot Knot Inn. We stayed in Cabin #1. It was just what we were looking for and generally met our expectations. We found it attractive because it's rustic, nicely located, yet offer convenient ammenities inside. The service was outstanding. We were well-taken care of and given lots of privacy. Kathy and Jennifer simply couldn't have been nicer or more accomodating. They make you feel right at home. Here are my (hopefully helpful) suggestions to the owners: (1) place screens in the upstairs bedroom windows to get airflow w/out having to run the air conditioning. (2) place a satellite or cabled-enabled TV in the living room (only the bedroom had this and the mainfloor TV could only play VHS tapes) (3) place hangars in the bedroom armoire - we saw the spindles inside but there really weren't enough (4) fix the bathroom tile since there were several areas of tile in the bathroom that were noticeably loose (5) place a latch or lock on the front screen door - it really didn't latch so we had to keep the large front door closed to keep out the insects and this further inhibited airflow. (5) air out the cabin before incoming guests arrive - the previous occupant had obviously burned firewood in the fireplace shortly before our arrival and the cabin needed airing out very badly! It also smelled a little musty (6) place something on the stairs separating the main floor and bedroom with slip resistent material to avoid potential hazards. You have to hold onto the hand rail tightly and walk slowly to ensure you don't fall - especially while wearing your socks. (7) place a least 1 hassock in the bedroom to making sitting in the chairs more comfortable. Overall - a great stay. The breakfast is awesome and Jennifer & Kathy make you feel so welcome. Getting to meet their family pets Jean, Douglas, and Trooper really made for a fun time!

    We stayed in Cabin#1 7-8-11 thru 7-10-11. We had a great time. From the time we arrived to the time we HAD to leave......it was fantastic. It is so peaceful there. The cabin was great. The service was great. The breakfast was fast and out of this world. I took my sweetie up for the weekend just to get away and that's what we did. No agendas....just relaxation. We loved sitting on the front porch and talking. We hiked along some of the trails and saw no one else. There were people there but you did not see them until maybe at breakfast. It was so peaceful. The weekend was everything and more than we were expecting. Thanks for a great getaway weekend! We will be back. Donnie & Cindy
