Hospitality - OFF THE CHARTS!

4.4 on August 11, 2015

Imagine going to stay with family - with super comfy beds - the most welcoming hospitality - with very unexpected touches - but with no drama! We spent two nights with Sharon - the first morning the men went deep sea fishing and would miss breakfast - we discussed this with Sharon when we checked in and she got up early had coffee ready at 5:30 - along with delicious bagged egg sandwich breakfasts that Sharon personally got up and prepared for them!! I slept in - enjoyed Sharon's wonderful breakfast with some other guests - and seized the opportunity to use one of the many bikes available - for free - and explored the island and all the wonderful shops it has to offer!! You can't go wrong staying here in Ocracoke - right next to the lighthouse - it will be the best decision of your trip! Hats off to Sharon for making this such a relaxing and perfect stay!

Went there for my wife's birthday and thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience. Breakfast was outstanding and the hosts were very knowledgeable about the area. Would absolutely return.

Charming B&B

The Cove is a charming B&B located on Ocracoke Island. It is in a quiet neighborhood. John and Sharon are the perfect host and hostess. The free wine reception is a great added feature. John's chocolate chip pancakes are delicious. Our room was extremely clean, large, and comfortable. We highly recommend The Cove.

Very enjoyable and relaxing visit. The inn keeper's were very accommodating and friendly. I would definitely recommend this b & b to anyone looking for the perfect island getaway.

We really enjoyed our experience at The Cove. We were met by friendly people who made us feel right at home. The wine and snack that afternoon was a nice surprise. We were leaving early to catch the ferry, and Sharon had a breakfast-to-go ready for us. Very thoughtful. We would definitely stay here again if on Ocracoke Island again.

nice place in an unusual community

Very nice place. Complimentary bikes were a treat and the wine reception every evening was a great surprise. Ocracoke is a most unusual place if you have not been. I wish they had had coffee available other than at breakfast. A Keurig or similar device would be a very good addition

A Most Comfortable B & B

5 on August 11, 2014

Our 3 day/2 night stay at the Cove was the perfect getaway that we were looking for and well worth the long travel time. Ocracoke and the Cove provided a very leisurely mini-vacation - laid back, slower than most vacation spots, yet full of options. The innkeepers at the Cove (John & Sharon) do a wonderful job making you feel at home and comfortable. The accommodations are perfect and all the side perks (great breakfasts, afternoon wine & munchies, & complimentary bikes) make for a wonderful hassle-free vacation.....well worth the money! The Cove is truly a hidden gem among many lodging options in Ocracoke.

John and Sharon were great

While it rained a good bit of the time we were there, everything was still lovely. It appears to do that a good bit there with all of the standing water. Service was excellent thruout and we enjoyed the included very nice breakfast. It is remote and we wish we had planned to stay for at least a couple of days so we could have enjoyed everything the Cove and Ocracoke had to offer on this trip, including the bicycles, but we will be returning, perhaps next fall.
