We enjoyed our most pleasant stay at Hanna House. From the warm hospitality, to the luscious breakfast, great tips on local happenings, this was all around a super pick. Only drawback, the full size bed is a bit small for two adults.

Review The Hanna House Bed and Breakfast, New Bern, NC

Photo Album

Welcome to the Hanna House Bed & Breakfast. Recently renovated and furnished in the finest antiques and oriental carpets. The Rudolph Ulrich House was built in 1896 and served as the home to one of New Bern's more succesful grocery suppliers. The house has undergone periods of use and revival, the most recent attending to the turn-of-century detail that distinguish older homes and provide our guests with an opportunity to escape to a quiet enviornment that encourages relaxation. We encourage all our guests to voice their breakfast needs or restrictions to insure that their gourmet breakfast is prepared to their liking and at the time they request.Your hosts have been professionally trained in culinary arts and boast homemade breads, muffins and unique breakfast entrees, all served in the formal dining room.
Sitting Area: Inside the house boasts a handsome blend of the two styles:Queen Anne and Colonial Revival;highlighted by the graceful Colonial Revial stair. The three mantels on the first floor are original to the house reflecting late Victorian details.
Puritan Place Room: Tastefully decorated in period antiques that suggest 18th and 19th century Folk Art themes. The room is graced with four windows that flood the space with light. Look closley at the sampler, circa 1842, or the folk art chest on the mantel, mid-1700's. Tribal Turkish rugs and kilims adorn the soft pine flooring around your queen size bed. A tiled, private bath completes your room's appointments.
German Mill Room: This newly renovated space represents our luxury suite. The room boasts a king sized handmade wrought iron bed, authentic tin ceilings, sitting room, balcony looking out to the streetscape, and private fully tiled bath with stall shower and separate "heated bubbler" tub.Fox Chase Room:Turn right at the head of the stairs into your own private hallway. Enter the intimate bedroom with private tiled bath and sit awhile on the mid-19th Century slipper chair that faces the historic full size sleigh bed brought froma New England Inn for which it was made in 1840.The similary dated chest of drawers warms the room. Northern exposure provides for late mornings and bright afternoons.
