Harmony House Inn Bed & Breakfast

  • Inn Details

Experience comfortable elegance in the heart of the Historic District. Built circa 1850 as a four room house for Benjamin and Eliza Ellis, the inn has been in operation since 1985. Several additions were made to the house as the Ellis family grew. During the civil war, Company K of the 45th Massachusetts Volunteer Militia occupied the house. The most interesting change was made circa 1900 when the house was sawed in half, separated nine feet, and a separate entrance and stairway was installed to construct two dwellings. The inn offers seven guest rooms and three suites, all with private bathrooms. The Benjamin Ellis Suite has a living room with a queen sized pullout sofa bed and a bedroom with a queen sized canopy bed. This arrangement is ideal for families. The romantic Eliza Suite has a King sized bed and features a heart shaped Jacuzzi tub/shower, perfect for a special romantic getaway. The William and Emily Suite boasts a four poster queen sized bed and a heart shaped Jacuzzi tub/shower. We are within walking distance to major area attractions, antique and specialty shops, and restaurants. Gift certificates available.

Very nice people who definitely were located where we could easily walk to everywhere. They make you feel at home and the house is quiet, peaceful and very welcoming. It shows that they have been in business here for several years and like what they do.

Had a great time at the Harmony House. Wonderful rooms and an awesome location. All the great sites New Bern has to offer are within walking distance of the wonderful B&B. I would recommend the Harmony House to anyone visiting Historic New Bern.

Stayed early December 2011. Conveniently located for easy walking about town. Ed and Sooki were very nice and accommodating. Enjoyed our stay of two nights very much. Since we had booked only one night, we stayed the second night in a different bedroom. Both were beautifully decorated for the Holiday Season, as well as the rest of the house.

The cutest and quaintest inn I have ever been too!

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Harmony Inn for a weekend and sadly we had to miss breakfast (usually between 8 and 9am) because of work. We had to leave at 6am and told the innkeeper that we would be missing breakfast and the night before our departure he left us a bag full of home-made bread and some apples. The couple that runs the Harmony Inn is so sweet!
