My husband and I stay at the Aerie every year when we participate in the MS Bike Ride. Mike & Marty and the most gracious hosts, and accommodate everyone's needs. Breakfast is incredible! (Don't be afraid to ask for smaller portions.) And we also enjoy the afternoon wine and hors d'oeuvres on the patio where we get to mingle with the other guests. The Aerie has a perfect location for walking around town to shop and eat. It's also a great place to ride bike!

My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary, and we loved it. The room was comfortable and nicely decorated with very comfortable bed and amazingly soft sheets (we stayed in the Basin Street room). A small, but well designed bathroom with a nice shower was attached to the room. Mike and Marty (the owners) are really friendly and very accommodating, but not intrusive. Marty makes the breakfasts and she is a fantastic cook! Every morning, breakfast started off with a delicious cobbler while we selected our main meal from a menu consisting of an omlette, pancakes and french toast (a different kind each day). The food was so good! We ate a a number of restaurants around town, most of which were pretty good, but Marty's breakfasts were our favorite. Besides the breakfasts, another really nice event put on by the inn is a social hour at 5:30 with hors d'oeuvres. This is a fun chance to chat with the other guests, peruse the menus from restaurants around town, and have Marty or Mike set up a dinner reservation for you if you would like. The Aerie is also very conveniently located. It is a short walk to main shopping street, many restaurants, and Tryon palace. We didn't use our car the entire time we were there. We really loved our stay and will definitely stay here again if we ever go back to New Bern.

The room was great. The staff and owners were wonderful and helpful. The breakfast was out of this world. Our tour in the 1929 Ford Model A was outstanding and Mike did a great job of telling us about New Bern and the history of the area. Would definitely stay again.

My wife and I chose the Aerie to celebrate our 33rd anniversary and we had a wonderful time. Mike and Marty made us very welcome. We especially enjoyed Marty's breakfast entrees and our 1929 limo ride with Mike. Could not ask for a better location. Walking distance from downtown, the river and Tryon Palace.

The owners of the bed & breakfast were a wonderful couple and were so kind and very accommodating Our breakfast each morning was done up so special and very delicious. We would highly recommend this bed & breakfast to anyone and would stay there again when in the New Bern area.

The second floor location and large bay windows make an ideal getaway in this elegant and comfortable room. Jetted tub with a shower in a great bathroom complete the elegance of Kennebec.

The Basin Street Room harkens back to when Samuel Street built the home c.1882, and this cozy room was the upstairs bath, kept comfortable by the fireplace, decoratively in place today. The name refers to the room's original purpose (Basin) and owner (Street) and also to New Orleans' famed promenade where your innkeepers enjoyed their honeymoon. Stylish artwork depicting the French Quarter lends sophisticated charm to this quaint room with a pencil-post queen bed. The private bath with a walk-in shower features a shower tower with six body jets, rain shower head and a hand-held shower...no bathtub, but who needs one with luxury like this?
Nightly Rate: $129 - $149
The Duck Inn Room was the room of Mary Ward whose family purchased the residence from Samuel Street in 1900. Mary Ward (1891-1979) lived in the home her entire life and during her later years divided the house into several apartments, renting them out during World War II. In fact, the current door to the room was once a closet and now guests over six feet may need to 'duck' their heads to enter a room with an eleven foot ceiling! Tasteful appointments and refined decorative treatments make this quaint, warm-hued room one of our most popular. A smaller room, but delightful in every way.
Nightly Rate: $129.99 - $149
