My wife and I stayed here for three days in September 2013 and absolutely loved everything about Relaxinn B&B! We have been coming to the Outer Banks for MANY years, but this was our first B&B. The location is perfect. It is very close to restaurants and shops, the beach was across the street and over the dunes. Margie and Eric are perfect hosts! Breakfasts each morning (pancakes, omelettes, french toast, fruit, coffee...and wine/cheese/fruit at 4:00 p.m. every afternoon were wonderful. The grounds are beautiful, with LOTS of gorgeous plants. The pool, the numerous hammocks, the beach shower, the hot tub, the observation deck on the roof are all just perfect. We stayed in the Captain's Room on the ocean side...just right. The other two rooms are on the sound side, but any room will due...all are lovely. "RelaxInn" is the perfect name for this B&B. We will definitely stay here again next year.

Charming inn, delightful and accommodating hosts. Aptly named inn as we thoroughly relaxed during our stay. Eric & Margie attended to our every need - before we could ask. Delicious homemade breakfasts. Timely afternoon wine and hors d' oeuvres was just great. Inn was convenient to all we wanted and needed. Hardly needed or used our car at all. We'll definitely be going back.

The owners of Relax Inn truly went out of their way to ensure we were not only very comfortable, but also very pampered. The breakfasts were outstanding, the cleanliness of this B&B is so impressive and you will not find any nicer hosts. We loved jumping in the refreshing pool after a hot afternoon at the beach. Restaurants are within walking distance which we appreciated and the beach is directly across the street. If you go, make sure you check out the awesome views from the Relax Inn's observation deck. A real treat. We'll definitely be back in the future. Mike & Donna - Powhatan, VA

Famous Island Omelette
The fluffy omelette is a refined version of an ancient food. According to Alan Davidson, the French word omelette came into use during the mid-16th century, but the versions alumelle and alumete are employed by the Ménagier de Paris in 1393. Rabelais (Pantagruel, IV, 9) mentions an homelaicte d'oeufs , Olivier de Serres an amelette, François Pierre La Varenne's Le cuisinier françois (1651) has aumelette, and the modern omelette appears in Cuisine bourgoise (1784).
