The Thompson House
The Thompson House Bed and Breakfast is a two-story Victorian located in the Flat Rock area of Mt. Airy, North Carolina. The home was built in the early 1900s by the Thompson family as a boarding house for newly arrived immigrants employed as artisans at the nearby NC Granite Quarry.
The house features many of the things remembered from grandma's house; hand-carved woodwork both inside and out, high ceilings, 'gingerbread' trim and many of the original brass fixtures.
Outside the house the wraparound porch has plenty of rocking chairs. There is also a small outdoor balcony upstairs.
A full breakfast is offered each morning. Complimentary soft drinks and snacks are available.
