Take the 9 exit off the I-26 (19/23) Go East on the 19 towards Burnsville. Go 4.2 miles take a right on Bethel Road and the first right on Ponder Creek Road. Go one mile. You will see the PONDER COVE sign on right hand side of road. Take left across from sign onto private road and follow to top of hill. - Nearest major airport: Asheville, NC (AVL) 49 miles

Get onto the I-26 (US 74) towards Asheville. At exit 1 turn left onto ramp 8. Stay right onto the I-240. At Exit 4 the road changes names to the 19/23. You will see signs to Weaverville. Follow this passed Weaverville and Mars Hill to exit 9. Go East on the 19 towards Burnsville. Go 4.2 miles take a right on Bethel Road and the first right on Ponder Creek Road. Go one mile. You will see the PONDER COVE sign on right hand side of road. Take a left across from sign onto private road and follow to top of hill.

Enjoy this wonderful country experience in our completely restored 1938 farmhouse now known as the Bungalow. Complete with 2 bedrooms, one king and one queen, full living, dining and kitchen areas. Lovely porches surrounded by shade trees. A lovely spa room leads you to the outdoor hot tub overlooking a 35 acre pasture. A refection of days gone by but with modern amenities.

2 STICKS SOFT BUTTER
3/4 WHITE SUGAR
3/4 BROWN SUGAR
1 tsp VANILLA
1 EGG
1 1/2 CUPS SIFTED FLOUR
1 tsp SIFTED BAKING SODA
1 1/2 CUPS OATMEAL
1 CUP CHOCOLATE CHUNKS
1 CUP RAISINS
1 CUP TOFFEE CHIPS
Cream sugar and butter until light and fluffy add egg and vanilla. Slowly add flour and soda mixture a bit at a time. Then add oatmeal, chocolate chips, raisins and toffee. Seperate into three parts and roll each in saran wrap making a log about 1 1/2 inches thick. Put in fridge for up to a week or in the freezer for up to 2 weeks. When you decide to bake cut in 3/4 inch sections and place on parchment paper for about 14 minutes at 350. I find doneness to be so personal. Some like them crispy others cakey.
