Situated in the quaint coastal waterfront village of Manteo on the Outer Banks of North Carolina, The White Doe Inn is located on Roanoke Island.
The Garden Room's elegant brass canopied king size bed and gas log fireplace provide just the right ambiance to refresh and stimulate your spirit and/or relationship with that special someone. The large private bath features a two-person shower, with built-in seat, and a two-person six-foot cast iron whirlpool.
The Garden Bedchamber looks out into a private garden area nestled under flowering Crape Myrtles, Dogwoods and flowering shrubs. The private entrance and brick pathway leads to the garden providing an intimate area for relaxing.
The Roanoak Bedchamber is finished in warm blush and mocha tones accented with rich teal. Located on the third floor providing the ultimate in privacy, this room has a comfortable sitting area situated to relax and enjoy the fireplace. The massive king canopy bed is a retreat all its own.
As you enter the Virginia Dare Bedchamber, its romantic splendor is accented with soft deep blues and rich Mahogany furnishings. The queen size, high poster carved rice bed is enhanced by the elegant floral carving above. The bedchamber has an inviting sitting and fireplace area accented with an exquisite antique wall relief that hangs over the turn-of-the-century French mantle.
the large elegant private bath of the Virginia Dare offers a second gas fireplace and Italian tile surrounding the two-person whirlpool complete with rain shower.
The Turret Bedchamber truly reflects the beautiful architectural features of a by-gone era. The room includes the second floor of the turret which is located on the southwest corner of the house towering above its three floors. It catches the sunlight that cascades through the rounded glass windows making it one of the sunniest rooms in the Inn. Its whisper-soft, sea-blue wallpaper with delicate peach flowers and white furnishings create a relaxing and peaceful environment.
Balconies can be enjoyed by four of our eight guest rooms. The Virginia Dare, the Turret and a shared balcony by the Raleigh and East Lake Rooms. The Garden Room has a private entrance as well as garden area.
Great care is given to serving only the freshest foods that are garnished with edible herbs and flowers from the Inn*s own gardens. Weather permitting you can enjoy your four-course served breakfast communing with nature on our beautiful back deck and veranda.
Guests at The White Doe Inn usually have pretty full busy days enjoying the many activities on the Outer Banks. So that our guests will not miss these specially prepared desserts, we have arranged for them to be available in the dining room from 3-10 p.m. So you can come back as many time as you wish!
Gathering at the gas fire pit in the evenings is a favorite of guests. Roast marshmallows, sip wine, converse with new found friends.
The gardens at the White Doe Inn is a place to relax in the hammock, unwind in the gazebo, sit by the outdoor fire pit and roast marshmallows, maybe partake in a friendly game of bocce ball.

Surprised my wife with a weekend getaway to OBX for our 26th anniversary. The White Doe Inn was everything they advertised, beautiful rooms, great service, and superb hospitality! Bebe and Bob took the time to visit with all their guests and certainly added that "personal" touch to our stay. We will be going back.

Had a great time getting away for our anniversary and Valentine's Day. This is a charming Victorian B&B filled with period antiques and pictures. It is a couple of blocks from downtown Manteo and its dining and shopping. The room was a great retreat and the service from the owners and staff was incredible! Highly recommend the garret room where we stayed. It is on the top floor and very private. The breakfasts were excellent and expertly prepared and we enjoyed getting to know the other guests at the table. It even had a gourmet expresso/coffee machine that we could enjoy any time day or night. This was a great place for us to get away and we look forward to returning soon!

This place was gorgeous! We loved every relaxing moment of the stay. We actually were able to look into every room in the inn and have made a list of at least three other rooms we plan to come back to spend a night or two in! The breakfast was great! The in-room couples massage was spectacular! This trip couldn't have been any better! Thank you so so much!!!!!

Wonderful place but had mainly the same breakfast each day which was some kind of quiche. We went in August of 2010 and the weather was extremely hot. Breakfast was served outside with all sorts of mosquitos etc. and flowers falling into your food. Nice people and a beautiful place but was not satisfied with the breakfast being served in extreme heat.

The Tower Suite is by far the largest of all the bedchambers in the house. Beautiful light apple green walls and warm white hues give a sense of the outdoors. The Bedroom offers a Kingsize bed, wall mounted tv and is separated from the bath by a wall of illuminating candles. This two room suite offers a sitting area behind french doors and includes a fireplace and second flat screen tv. The rooms were decorated beautifully. The gardens were well manicured and numerous fountains were lovely. We visited in early May and weather was great so we ate outside on veranda every morning. The breakfast table was decorated elegantly with beautiful table decor. The Inn was immaculately kept and the service was exceptional. I will be visiting again. The White Doe Inn is the epitome of a high end bed and breakfast.

Being from Kingsburg, California, we had never experienced the Outer Banks hospitality. Bebe and Bob Woody run a first-class place. We had a wonderful two-day stay.

A nice location: walking distance to restaurants, cafés, and shops in Manteo; close to a good bike path; and within easy striking distance of the Outer Banks beaches, but not right in all that sprawl. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, but not in a pushy way. And the breakfasts and snacks are just evil.
