The Main Street Inn
The Main Street Inn has welcomed guests for over 100 years. The Inn's architecture is of the Federal Farmhouse style and was restored to it's original circa 1885 luster during the winter of 1998 by New York Architect and designer Christopher E. Dubs. The Inn is located on Main Street, in the center of the beautiful mountain town of Highlands, North Carolina. The Inn offers 20 charming and cozy rooms, all with private baths, individual heating and air conditioning, in-room direct dial telephones and cable TV and wireless internet. Situated in the middle of the 5 block downtown area of Highlands, fine dining and shopping at the exclusive shops of Highlands are all within walking distance. Through the years, the relaxing country atmosphere, comfortable rooms and inviting aromas from the kitchen have reminded guests of a visit to the country in times past. The Inn serves a sumptuous hot country breakfast from 8:30 am until 10:00 am each morning. When guests return from local shopping and sightseeing an afternoon tea awaits them, served from 3:00 PM until 4:00 PM.
