The Inn of the Patriots

Chefs Marty & Stormy will not only serve you excellent, delicious food, but their hospitality is top-notch in their wonderful B&B. Talk to them about attending culinary classes and/or one of Marty's Revolutionary War tours as well-- Awesome stuff!!

We were greeted by Chef Stormy who took us on a tour of the home and gave us many restaurant options in the area and surround areas. We went to Ni Fen one of their recommendations and the food was awesome! It was a short 10 mile about 20 minute ride away. Our room the Nature and Earth room was very spacious and we had homemade Jordanian Baklava waiting for us on arrival. My husband and I normally skip breakfasts at hotels but after traveling and living abroad we have learned that while staying at a B&B this is a no no and surely a missed experience! This was without a doubt the most amazing homemade gourmet breakfast we have ever received at a B&B. We had an amazing homemade Strata that was very filling and had a fresh from their garden Rosemary Tomato Salsa to go on top of it. We had parm grits....so good, I do not even like grits! The fresh coffee and juices were wonderful! We had fresh fruit and lots of bacon. Very filling so much so we didn't even eat lunch that day! After breakfast we were taken by Chef Marti on a tour of the White House Museum filled with many many stories, memorabilia and collectibles. After we went to a recommended Winery Baker Buffalo Creek, we were taken on a private tour and then a wagon ride through the vineyards with a wine tasting on the wagon! It was soo fun!! After we attended the Culinary Cooking class by Chef Marti and Chef Stormy. It was fabulous! We learned so much and had a great hands on experience. We were there with another group from Chicago and a wonderful young couple like ourselves. We all ate the meal after we prepared it, so fantastic! Thank you again for a great experience!

I live right across from this wonderful place. It is a small town and a piece of history! A quiet place to visit and also to live in. Ive been in this town for 20 years and own my own business too across from this place. I love looking across the road and remember the family that lived there at one time before it was made into this place. Please visit sometime. You will never forget this wonderful experience with Marti and Stormy Mongiello.

This was a repeat trip for us, and we were again treated as honored guests here. Great food, great service, eye-popping decor!

We stayed on 6/9/12 for one night. Our room was clean and we had a special treat on arrival. I purchased the night with a Groupon and everything was as expected. Marti and Stormy were wonderful hosts. I would recommend staying at The Inn of the Patriots to anyone.

I purchased the cooking class and an extra plate for my husband to join the cooks for dinner.

We recently stayed at the Inn of the Patriots. The innkeepers and staff were warm and welcoming. We stayed in the Magnificent Polynesian room, and while it does have a private bath, the toilet and shower areas in the room are VERY small. The bed was comfortable and cozy. We enjoyed several meals and activities recommended by the innkeepers. Overall, an enjoyable stay.

I wasn't going to review because I honestly didn't have anything great to say about the experience but the email addressing me by the wrong name begging me to make a review lead to this. First off my name isn't Sandy as stated in the email. This was a gift to my husband for our anniversary and was a packaged deal from living social. Huge disappointment! We didn't get most of what was offered in the package. No chocolate strawberries waiting in our room as expressed in the deal or a signed cookbook. Bathroom and shower were tiny mini closets, and sink faucet was broken. My husband couldn't use the restroom with the door closed because his feet stuck out. Took a while to find someone when we got there, kitchen was full of bugs, we had two bugs in our room the entire weekend! Breakfast the first day had a lot of people, half of the stuff ran out before we got it(never replenished) and dessert wasn't homemade. One of the guests said he couldn't eat them because he sells them for a living. I guess I expected everything to be homemade by a chef. We had to get breakfast on our own afterward. Places were recommended to eat but it would have been nice to know that these places would be closed on the 4th of July. We spent our anniversary searching for hours for something to eat. What really bothered me is I called the first night we were there to request a bigger room for the next night because it was still available (I know I checked on Sat too) I never got a call until Sat evening (which OF COURSE someone would have rented it by then) which was 24 hours after I called to make the change. We felt a burden asking anything while we were there. We weren't told about the winery (so when we called nothing extra was told about the deal). Never even wished us a Happy Anniversary. I wanted our weekend to be special, and I think we would have gotten more personalized service in a chain hotel. Wish we had just stayed in Charlotte where we ended up both nights anyways.

My mother and I came to the Inn of the Patriots for a mother-daughter weekend getaway via Livingsocial. We had such a great experience! Marti, Kim, and Amanda were so sweet, accommodating, and concerned that we were having a good experience. The tour was great and we really enjoyed seeing the displays. We stayed in the Nature and Earth room which was so relaxing and pretty. It's good to have activities in mind that you want to do in the immediate area when you go for a few days, but Marti was great about recommendations if you need some. We went to the National Park, Gaffney Outlets, Botanical Gardens, into Shelby, and just relaxed at the Inn. The food was spectacular. We just thank you all so much for such a fun experience and really hope to return.

I purchased a Living Social deal for The Inn of The Patriots in December of 2010. I called in June to make my reservation and Marti was very friendly and helpful. He advised me to register for my stay online and told me what code to use. The whole process was very easy. Marti e-mailed me with information about my stay in advance and called the day we were supposed to check in to answer any questions and give us instructions on how to enter the property if he wasn't there. We stayed in the Polynesian room. There were lots of little extras -- bathrobes, foot massage, back massage. The room itself was a little crowded - tons of tchotkes. The room was en suite, but the toilet room and shower room were tight. I thought the room itself was a bit moldy smelling, but I wonder if that is to be expected in a house that was built in 1870? The whole inn was a little too busy for my tastes, but I knew that before I made my reservations. Overall, I enjoyed my stay. The service and the breakfasts were outstanding. Everyone that works there is super-friendly and accomodating. The tour was interesting and covered a range of topics from the origins of the house, the town of Grover, the battle of Kings Mountain and information about Presidential culinary habits and china choices. There are plenty of outdoor spaces to gather -- front porch with rocking chairs, back patio and lounge with waterfall. There is also a horseshoe pit, putting green, and croquet. I also enjoyed the wine tour at Baker Buffalo Vineyards.

The innkeeper is very personable and knowledgeable. If you want to learn about civil war history while also hearing about fascinating tales of a chef of two different Presidents, you must check this place out. If you want to learn some of the trick of the trade, take the cooking class, it is well worth it (and the food is awesome too!). Wifi throughout the whole house. Cleveland Room is awesome. Close to some beautiful nature or museums if you're into history. Either way you will have a fun time.

We stayed 2 nights (Friday & Saturday). Chef Marti's breakfast on Saturday was amazing, forget about the diet for a couple days. We really appreciated the time he took after breakfast to review the local attractions close to us. We chose King's Mountain and enjoyed/learned about a piece of history that was pivotal in the revolutionay war. Chef Marti is a very engaging and interesting host. He was always quick with a story of his experiences cooking in the Navy and White House (Camp David). I took advantage of his optionally priced Saturday cooking class along with some of the other guests and a few who drove up to 2 hours to attend. We all participated in the menu preparation and then dined on our creations following the class. Chef Marti also shared several valuable tips about cooking in general and of course, his signature stories which we all loved. The Inn was very clean and comfortable with dessert/beverages available 24/7. The atmosphere creates a relaxing environment that leaves you refreshed after just the first night. Additionally, he has so much historical bric-a-brac displayed around the common areas that one can see/read/view something interesting over many days. We didn't have enough time to experience everything in the 3 days we stayed with Chef Marti. A couple minor items I would suggest: first, locks on the rooms. I'm orginally from an area where you do not leave doors unlocked and that would have been more comfortable for me. However, staff was always around so security was really not an issue. Second, a few more outlets around the room would have been nice as we carry our technology with us on vacations. Overall, this is a must do if you are in his part of the country.

Building is lovely, and there are so many historical items to see inside - kept spotless! Chef Marti is very engaging and has enjoyed an exciting career (including this one). Food was very good, if sometimes not to my taste, but served family style at a huge table. Room (ours had a private bath) was very interesting - a couple of issues, but nothing serious (shade didn't work, not enough outlets). Bed very comfy and cozy (recommend 1st floor in the summer, as top floor is much warmer). Trains go through, so bring your earplugs if you are a light sleeper! Kings Mountain Military Park is fascinating and worth the short (10-minute) trip to review one of the key battles of the Revolutionary War. Recommend Smoke on the Square restaurant in Shelby (10 miles away) for lunch or dinner - great pulled pork! All in all, a relaxing, fun stay at a very unique B&B!

The inn keeper seemed very nice but the space and food need serious help. If you are a true civil war buff, this place may appeal to you; otherwise, avoid it. There is clutter everywhere: A million small pictures on the wall, old letters and maps cover the floors, bathroom is filled with inn keeper's personal hygeniene items. The whole scene is very unsettling. Breakfast was fine, but nothing special: eggs were dry, oatmeal overly sweet, bacon and sausage over smoked and fatty.

Spacious, comfortable rooms with extremely nice amenities. Martiisa most gracious host, and he has a very impressive US Military service history including years of submarine service and being a Senior Chef at the White House for several Presidents. If you come here, be sure to take the time to look around at the many fascinating memorabilia in this hiatoric mansion. You also should expect to get server a delightful, very substantial breakfast each day that you are here. Worth the money just for the fascinating exposure to a historic setting.

What an entertaining weekend! Chef Marti provides historical commentary on the area and offers great suggestions for maximizing a visit to the Inn. He has a treasure trove of memorabilia from his military experience, as well as his time in the White House and Camp David. We especially loved the cooking class and conversation during the preparation of dinner. One of our favorite weekend adventures ever! The food is incredible!

Chef Marty and wife, Stormy, were very gracious. We arrived late at night, but we were greeted at the door and welcomed and immediately offered food, drinks, tour, socializing with other guests, etc. Baby Ruth room was beautiful and full of history. Our dining was above and beyond our expectations.

"Chef" Marti embellishes every aspect of this Inn (and his career) to the point that it becomes a bad joke. The video in their Website is nothing like what you encounter. The Inn is cluttered and not at all what shows in this video. The "Presidential Culinary Museum” consists of three cabinets with some newspapers clippings, pictures, and a few replicas of china. Marti claims there is even a miniature golf area…we saw the clubs and the golf balls but there was no such a thing… but that is Marti’s style!!! The culinary class was expensive for what he taught and after $100/per person he asked the participants to buy their own glass of wine. It didn't feel like “home” at all as the advertisement portrays thanks to Marti who didn't waist any opportunity to sell you something. His farewell "gift" to the ladies was a bag containing an Avon catalog to place orders! Snacks, something cold to drink, or even a cup of coffee during the day cost you money. This stay left us very disappointed especially because of the exaggerations posted about this Inn and Marti’s contributions to a never-ending story. Marti will do himself a favor by toning down what this is and making an effort to accommodate and serve his guests rather than getting a few more bucks out of them. The housekeeper Kim was very nice and she kept the rooms very clean.

Thank you so much, we remember you well, and we were sorry you were angered (with your tirade and outburst) over George Bush and President Obama's photo being in our museum. It was inappropriate and evidently has transpired into a personal attack on our museum, supported by several presidents foundations, with donations consisting of precious items. We were sorry that we cannot sell wine by the glass or hand it out for free - it is illegal to do so. We do have cake, cookies or muffins out all day long but cannot hand out unlimited 24 ounce bottles of soda to folks as you suggest and it was our pleasure to provide you with free Avon samples and gifts on your loving, goodbye bag. Considering you only paid 65.00 for the cookery class and gourmet dinner and 65.00 per night for your room in a five star rated B & B, we honestly feel that this costs less than staying in one of the budget hotels. We were pleased to have you stay with us and enjoyed sharing our family's home with you :)

Chef Marti, Chef Stormy, and Kim, are all incredibly accommodating and kind. The food was delicious and thoughtfully prepared. I saw other guests with special dietary needs accommodated without a single frown, and the ease between the Chefs and staff speaks volumes about their character. There didn't seem to be any "idle hands" here! I can't imagine the hard work that goes into running and cleaning such a place! The rooms are all beautifully decorated with almost museum-like details. Each room is a glimpse into the history of another era. That being said, I’m not sure if I’d be brave enough to bring my toddler! Don't expect a state-of-the-art facility- this Inn is all about personal attention, Southern hospitality, and a slower pace of life. They treat you like family, and that's just the way I like it. It is surprisingly close to many attractions... there was plenty to do! All in all, I plan to return very soon. I highly recommend The Inn of the Patriots!

I was not sure what to expect with the Inn of the Patriots. Thought it might be a bit formal, but it was completely welcoming and very casual. Perfect for the relaxing few days that we really needed. Marti was a great host and his breakfasts are wonderful. Kim and Amanda took excellent care of us and Kim especially went out of her way to be sure all of our needs were met. I would highly recommend this Inn as well as the area, which is also very casual, but beautiful, with mountains, history, wineries and so much more.....

Too much clutter in my opinion. There were no surfaces without papers, books, artifacts, awards, certificates, magazines, china, etc. I am more of a minimalist, I guess. Kim is the real charmer here!

The concept of the Inn of the Patriots could be an excellent one. That said, you are trying to put too many different themes into play and it winds up being cluttered. For example, you have the Revolutionary War theme, which of all of them is probably the best one to focus on given the area you are in. But then you throw in the Grover Cleveland thing and the Presidential Culinary Museum thing and it just gets confusing. Kim and Amanda were terrific and made things fun, however, if you are going to do "cooking classes" and charge for them, get the right equipment to use and get your kitchen organized. Breakfast was OK. Dan and I are both experienced chefs with backgrounds in the hospitality industry so we know what we are talking about. The best suggestion I can give you is to pick one theme and focus on it, then have have a garage sale to clear out all the other stuff. You have a potential gold mine but you are not taking advantage of what you COULD have with some thought and a little work. Thanks, Rod Houston and Dan Forsythe.

We visited the Inn of the Patriots after purchasing a package deal on LivingSocial.com. The package indicated that it included: 1 night stay, 2 tickets to the presidential culinary museum, 2 tickets to a local winery, a free autographed cookbook, breakfast in bed, and chocolate covered strawberries. I got very excited when I saw this because my husband is a chef and this sounded like something he would really enjoy; I ended up buying the package for his anniversary gift. Unfortunately the package turned out to be not at all what I expected / paid for. The entire time we were there there was no mention of tickets to a culinary museum or winery ... I assume the "museum" was the displays in the hallways which were interesting but definitely misleading if that was meant to be the "culinary museum"...especially since I obviously would not have needed tickets to something that was in the hallway. As for the winery - when we asked Marti about it, he told us we could go by and mention his name. The winery was 13 miles away and we didn't feel like "mentioning his name" would get us anything special, so we choose to skip it. We never saw chocolate covered strawberries - I suppose I should have asked, but I was honestly kind of awkward because the chefs were so busy our entire stay and whenever we asked a question, we had to go find them in the kitchen and I felt like we were being a nusiance. The "cookbook" was a paper book with 4 recipes in it... a nice bonus, but should NOT have been advertised as a free autographed cookbook. The only thing I was very impressed with was the food - the breakfast in bed was fabulous! :) Overall the owners seemed friendly enough and the food was amazing, but I do wish the "package deal" hadn't been so misleading -- it was a huge dissapointment as this was my anniversary gift to my husband.

We do wish you had asked us about the tour as it does lead all over the mansion, underground to the servants quarters in 1879 and outside to our old slave house. The acclaimed and internationally awarded tour is given at 1 pm every Saturday and again to any guest morning, afternoon and night. We regret your assumptions that it is only in the glass showcases in the hallways, in this kind manner, you are mistaken about it and our cooking booklet and winery tour. Our award winning winery and friends who own it is not just mentioning, "Chef Marti's name," it is a special deal we have arranged for and provides an hour long tour for you including tasting up to 12 wines at no cost to you. Again, we regret your many outright assumptions and answering questions for us that were actually, never asked. We felt the gift of free dinners for you to our jazz and Mardi Gras Festival was a gift from the heart of love and appreciate your kind comments. We welcome you back and are happy to provide a free bottle of wine for you as our friends.

I gave the 2 night stay to my husband for a Valentine Gift. We arrived during the week as weekends were booked well ahead. We were anxious for R&R. Marti greeted us warmly and gave us a quick tour of the lovely 1871 home. He also had suggestions of things to do while there. The room I had chosen on line was smaller than the upgrade he offered. Breakfasts were outstanding. Kim did a wonderful job of preparing and serving as well as taking care of the room. She also gave a more extensive tour. Our only disappointments were that there were no other guests at the time of our visit. We pick B&B's so that we meet others from all over the world. My husband missed not having cookies or sweet snacks at the coffee/tea service. Marti made some delicious Irish soda bread which we enjoyed at breakfast. History buffs will enjoy the Inn as it is full of memorabilia. A Very nice visit.

Driving around Grover, NC, we could see that there wasn't much to the town itself. It is close to the outlet shops in Gaffney, and not too far from Charlotte -that's about it. Except for the Inn of the Patriots. As a B&B, it is a good value, and clean. The house is old, but the rooms and bed were comfortable. The Presidential and Navy memorabilia were worth the time we spent to view them. However, the only reason we drove 2 hours to get there, and 2 hours back home, and thought it was well worth it, was for the food. The breakfasts were OUTSTANDING!!! And the Saturday afternoon cooking session, leading up to dinner, with Marti and Stormy Mongiello was a blast. It was a lot of fun, and the dinner was fantastic. We brought home some recipes, and a new perspective on cooking.

Marti was ill during my overnight stay and his assistant suffered a fall and was not able to come in to help him. Nevertheless, he prepared me a great hot breakfast and had me on my way in time for an early morning appointment. I appreciate not only his skill in the kitchen but his determination to see that I enjoyed a comfortable night and was well fotrified with breakfast for a long day. To me, that's a true test of hospitality - getting the mission accomplished no matter what happenes.

Our stay was absolutely wonderful!! (an overused word which doesn't describe the joy of our stay at the Patriot Inn). There was no "want" expressed that was not met. Even though our innkeeper came down with some awful virus, he sent the "mounties" (his assistant) and she was delightful and continued the practice of exceeding our every want whether expressed or not. We also met his darling daughter at the restaurant he had mentioned to us. It was apparent that she was his daughter because she was so warm, charming and outgoing (though she is too young to talk). His wife, Stormy, was the same.... just an affable couple whose attributes are apparently being passed on to their daughter. The Inn was decorated beautifully... There was so much to explore.. We are especially grateful that our baby, our big dog, could accompany us. He too was very comfortable. It was a perfect experience. Thanks to all.

If you are looking for a sophisticated, romantic ambiance then this is not the place for you. However, if you want a homey, quaint place to escape to for several days where the food is delicious and the staff feels like family... you absolutely must visit this place. The Innkeepers are very involved with your stay and encourage you make yourself at home. We had free run of all the facilities and were even encouraged to use the commercial kitchen if the fancy struck us! Anything we wanted we felt comfortable asking for. And there are endless books, movies and magazines to enjoy. In particular, history gurus could probably spend weeks at this place and still have weapons they wanted to look at, maps they wanted to pour over, and books they wanted to read. My Dad is into Rev War reenacting, and I have already recommended this place to him. Will visit again.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Inn of the Patriots. We also did cooking classes and spent a day at some local wineries, which were fun experiences. We knew we didn't have our own private bathroom when we signed up for our weekend away. If I could do it over again, we would definitely want our own bathroom to create a more relaxed stay. Other then that, Marti was exceptional and we loved his mansion tour.

My husband and I just returned home from a wonderful stay at The Inn of the Patriots. Sort of a combined 'birthday/anniversary celebration. Only able to stay one night, so we made the most of it by booking the cooking class Sat afternoon, sumptuous dinner (of course - we made it...with a little help from Chef Marti and new friends we made in the class), divine sleeping arrangements, and then the best breakfast in the AM (and we didn't have to make that!). Learned several culinary techniques, chatted with VERY interesting guests from all over the Eastern seaboard, and waxed poetic over history lessons and travelling experiences. This was THE PERFECT place to escape to for a quiet week-end with my husband. All fun, and not stuffy-formal! Love the laid-back feeling generated by our host family!

Chef Marti and his wife, Stormy, are just wonderful hosts and a joy to get to know. My fiancé and I stayed here for New Years to do something different. Our stay exceeded our expectations for sure! Chef Marti's gourmet breakfast is out of this world. His tour of the home was highly entertaining and educational. It was nice to have the company of such good people. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would absolutely go back again. The next time though, I would take a cooking class! ;)

We had never been to a bed and breakfast before and this sure was a treat! The staff was such a help when deciding what to do around town, however, we were slightly disappointed with the food. I think we had too high of expectations for it and were disappointed when the breakfast we received had little taste. We were really looking forward to the meals each morning since the owner is a former executive chef to the President. Other than that, we will definitely be coming back for another lovely stay.

We enjoy staying in historic inns and have stayed in many over the years. Although the hosts are very nice and the food is very good, I would not return to this Inn. To my taste, it is overdecorated and there is clutter everywhere. You can hardly see what a nice building it is because there are exhibit stands taking over the living room, knick-knacks on every surface, including the floor, and piles of magazines on each step leading upstairs. I would have preferred to focus on the spacious rooms, high ceilings, and woodwork. Instead, I felt overwhelmed and uncomfortable.

When I travel, I don't tell people I am a travel writer. I want my experiences to be honest and my reviews accurate. I have to say, that while I have seen bigger inns, I can't say I have had a nicer host. I never saw Stormy, but Marti and his son made my stay very pleasant. I particularly was impressed by the fact that as I left, Marti gave me a fresh baked pumpkin cake (miniature) which was soon good, that I wanted to come back and get more. When I got there, they handled the late arrival without issue which was nice. I've been to some places where the breakfast is so gourmet that I don't want to eat it, but Marti managed to find an excellent balance, providing a breakfast frittata, red potatoes, bacon and fresh pineapple. The accommodations were museum quality, I was almost afraid of turning down the bed to sleep, and frankly my possessions looked out of place. I did have some minor issues trying to make the dvd player work but otherwise, felt that it was a great place to stay. The historical tour was the Pièce de résistance that capped a stay that was short but satisfying. They offered a winery tour that I chose not to take. This is the perfect place for a historical tour of the area, beginning with the inn itself, and concluding with the historical parks in the area.

So, I know the reviews of this B&B are glowing, but Inn of the Patriots ended up disappointing us a bit. On one hand, the service was great. Chef Marti greeted us and immediately gave us a tour. Very friendly. He gave us great restaurant suggestions. The house is a beautiful building. It's not set in the most beautiful of locations, but it's near some nice places. We spent the day at a local fair and visited three different wineries. We had a blast. The house was cluttered with patriotic knick-knacks. It was overwhelming. The rooms were the same. In some ways it was cool, but we had to be careful not to lose our own belongings amidst the stuff. Also, our bed was not made after we had spent the day out. One of the big headlines on the website is "Private bathrooms..." We did not have a private bathroom and neither did the room across from us. We all shared the same bathroom with Marti and his wife. The bathroom had metallic spray paint artwork in the shower itself. Odd choice. The dining? I admit that I'm a food snob, but with the stamp of "former white house chef" I expected the best. The first day we had blueberry pancakes, pork chops, and fruit salad. I had seen a bag of Krusteaz (just add water) pancake mix the evening before on the kitchen counter. I know pancakes made from scratch because I make them. These were not. And the "maple syrup" was not real maple syrup. And are blueberries in season in October in NC? I don't think so. Why not something seasonal like pumpkin pancakes? The next day was better - a mushroom omelette, ham, and yogurt - although my boyfriend is not a mushroom fan. Maybe ask for dislikes or allergies. I hate to be such a negative nancy, but I hope to give a more realistic review for the discerning traveler. If you happen to be in the area and need a place to stay, this place has a lot of character. And it will be a better than average B&B breakfast.

Our 2-night stay was very enjoyable. The innkeeper is not only a master executive chef (all sorts of certifications & awards), but is also a true Patriot and a historian knowledgeable about the Revolutionary War. While there, be sure to visit the nearby King's Mountain National Military Park, the site of a key American victory in the Revolutionary War! Be sure, as we did, to get one of the rooms with its own bathroom (unless you feel comfortable sharing).

I arrived very late for my one-evening stay as I was travelling through. Marti was so pleasant, which I sincerely appreciated after such a long drive with my two small dogs. After a hot shower and a late-night snack, I slept peacefully and so did my pets. Thank you for a too-brief albeit wonderful stay!

My husband and I stayed at this b&b for our 16th anniversary. This was our first stay at a b&b. We had a great time! Enjoyed talking with Stormy and Marti, shopping at the outlets in Gaffney, hiking in Kings Mountain and eating a wonderful breakfast both mornings. The house was beautiful and full of history. We would definitely recommend this b&b.

The rooms were very clean, service was great, and the food was prepared to your indiviual taste.

I didn't have expectations going in, just booked stay for some r&r on labor day weekend. I must say that i came away impressed by the experience. The highlights were the breakfast, which was excellent compared to any experience i have had at any hotel. Also the tour of the mansion was entertaining and very informative with Chef Marti. I didn't know the area was so rich in American history. There is also plenty to do around the area from dining to museums other family entertainment.

My husband and I spent this past weekend at the Inn of the Patriots B&B. We were very pleased. We were immediately impressed with the hospitality of Marti. Very comfortable & relaxing. Chef Marti & his family were welcoming and made us feel right at home. The Inn is beautiful and filled with lots of interesting antiques & memorabilia. The innkeepers themselves are fascinating folks and eager to share tales of their world travels and tips for things to do in the area. Lots of extra touches in our room, such as chair massager, tons of creams & lotions, extra thick towels, his & her robes, etc. Breakfast was delicious & served in an elegant setting. This was just what we needed for a break from a hectic week! Would definitely stay again.

Marti, Stormy, and JT were wonderful hosts! The room was beautiful and comfy, and there were lots of things to do at the house while it was raining (board games, dvds, interesting books to look at/read, ect.) They also provided lots of info about the area and helped us figure out how to get to all the hiking trails. The tour was very informative and the breakfast was very delicious. We had a great time around the dining table with the 2 other couples staying. JT is a very sweet young man and are thankful for how kind and helpful he was to us when we arrived (because Marti and Stormy were at a wedding). The family works very well together and made our stay great!

A great B&B off the beaten path!!! We had never heard of Grover, NC, but it is easily accessible off I-85 and close to plenty of diverse "adventures"--most notably Kings Mountain, the site of a pivotal Revolutionary War battle. The inn-keeper is friendly and helpful--besides being an outstanding chef. Breakfast was among the best we've had at any B&B.

The Inn of the Patriots is a wonderful and fantastic place to lay your head. Any history buff or the most discerning traveler is sure to enjoy their stay in this 19th century home. Marti and Stormy Mongiello are the innkeepers. They are both Navy Veterans and their call to continue to serve is evident. Each room has a different theme and feel. Marti was the personal Chef to Bill Clinton at Camp David and it shows. They serve wonderful hearty breakfasts to start the day and equally as impressive dinners. I have stayed in many a B & B and prefer them to hotels. Marti & Stormy really have mastered the art of making one feel at home. As a professional hospitality executive I can not recommend the Inn of the Patriots more highly. Safe travels!

Our daughter ran a triathalon at Kings Mountain. Her husband is a history buff. The Inn of the Patriots fit perfect for us. We all enjoyed the food, history and accomadations.

Incredible breakfast, best we have ever had at a B&B. Ham and cheese omelette, steak, fresh fruit and more. Loved the room and the location in a small town. We recommend Inn of the Patriots as first choice for anyone staying in the area.

This was our first time staying in a bed and breakfast. Overall, we were very pleased with our visit. The only problem that we had was that we were locked out of the shared bathroom all night long. Again, it was our first time staying at a b and b, so we were not sure what the protocol is in a situation like this. It made for a very uncomfortable experience for my husband and me. Other than that, we have a wonderful visit.

The Inn of the Patriots is a wonderful and unique B & B. It's a great getaway. Marti puts his heart and soul into it and boy it shows! We will surely be back!

Good historical review of house. Light luncheon.

I stayed at The Inn of The Patriots on Wednessday night. I was greeted warmly by the Innkeeper, Chef Marti who showed me my room (The Polynesian) and quickly offered to help bring in my luggage. I parked in a covered parking area which was only seconds from the front door. The room was MARVELOUS, decorated with items that I recognized from my travels abroad to Japan, Korea, Singapore, and Hong Kong. The physical furnishing were TOP-NOTCH. Complimentary dessert Quiches and candies were on my dresser. Even though I felt like I was in another century, I was still connected. The rooms had wireless capability and the TV was on a dish with 300+ channels. If you don have a wireless laptop, dont worry. The Inn has a computer in the front room for your use. The elegant displays of Presidential culinary artifacts was PHENOMENAL! From little boxes of M&M's with the presidential logo on them to pictures signed by presidents and first ladies to china from the White House, the Presidential Culinary Museum has it all. I got a great nights sleep on a very comfortable bed and in a very quiet room. On Thursday morning, I was treated to hot coffee made by the innkeeper's wonderful wife Stormy and a delightful breakfast of an omelet with freshly picked herbs from Chef Marti's herb garden, bacon, and Scrapple. Before I departed, I visited the small but very nice gift shop area in the front of the house where they had homemade jellies, honey, cookbooks, and other memorabilia. My overall experience was FANTASTIC and I would recommend this B&B to anyone interested in history, great hosts, AND a great nights sleep. Thank you Marti, Stormy, and JT.

I recently stayed at the Inn and we surprised by how nice everything was. The food is above and beyond the call and the staff couldn't be nicer. I am used to staying around the Philadelphia area at B&B's and it was refreshing to be steeped into Presidential history as well as colonial history of an area I am not that aware of, Kings Mountain, almost from the moment you walk in. I did cause quite a stir when Martin saw me eating M&M's because he thought I got a hold of Bill Clinton's personal stash that are on display. It was a riot. My only complaint is that I can't visit more often. The last review shocks me as I found the bed as comfortable as any other.

My wife and I recently stayed at the Inn. What a fantastic visit as we were served by a world class Chef and host, along with his wife and son. We always stay at B & B's but this last visit tops everything we've ever experienced. This place and staff are a secret that needs to get out for more travelers to enjoy. Chef Marti is a class by himself and the Presidential Museum was an extra added value that we weren't expecting! We've already booked a return visit and wre bringing friends.

Last May, my husband surprised me with an overnite at the Inn of the Patriots B & B to give me something to take my mind off the radiation treatments that were just ending. The service was great, and Marti, Stormy, and J.T. were helpful and informative about the history of the inn and the surrounding area. I am a retired teacher and history is very exciting for me. The things I learned were quite interesting. Our room was very comfortable, and beautifully decorated, with accessories gathered during Marti's travels. Breakfast was outstanding, served on the back patio with another couple who were guests celebrating their anniversary. I very much recommend the Inn of the Patriots in Grover, NC.

I have stayed at several Inns all over NC. Stormy and Marti have an awesome concept but I agree with them in saying they have outgrown their space. I felt like the common areas were very cluttered. The rooms were nice but the bed did not exceed my expectations as it relates to a more comfortable matress than home. I would suggest in investing in matresses and higher quality sheets. The food and the hospitality is on target. I would definitely come back for a private luncheon but not an overnight stay.

We are thrilled to know that you rated our food at FIVE STARS and thank you so very much! Presently we have wonderful, new pillow top mattresses that folks simply love and the highest thread count sheets sold worldwide. We know as disabled veterans that we cannot afford the Swiss mattress systems for $4,100.00 per room but certainly will try.

Our welcome by the host was warm and friendly with assistance with our baggage and explanations of the amenities. We loved the first floor accomodation with no stairs to climb. Room was comfortable and temperature was great. Only suggestions I would make would be a knob to hang a towel or clothes in the bathroom and soft popular or classical music in the living room. The meal was superb and company interesting. The guided tour was entertaining. We hope to get back for a look at the items we missed that are everywhere in the beautifully decorated home.

What an incredible experience! A wonderful property with the hosts dressed in Colonial garb of the time period. Just moments after our arrival, Dr. Benjamin Franklin arrived and explained to us the signifigance of the Battle of Kings Mountain to the Cause and how this battle changed the tide of the Revolutionary War- Outstanding! The rooms were so well appointed with special scents, flowers, homemade peppermint bark, and welcome drinks and canapes! Martin and Stormy then toured us through the home and its history which was amazing. The ultimate treat was viewing the China from past US Presidents and understanding how they are chosen and who pays- very interesting! The bedding was so comfortable and the linens were luxerious. Just when you thought it could not get any better- Breakfast the next morning-What a delicitable feast! The fresh squeezed juices, freshly baked muffins and breads, the french toast with real maple syrup was the BEST I ever had, meats, potatoes, fruits, etc... If you left hungry there is something wrong with you. I typically stay in fine hotels for weekend getaways but this establishment has changed my mind completely as one would be hard pressed to find such an incredible experience with the owners being the most kind, caring, knowledgeable, entertaining, and gracious people I have ever met. I will be back again for sure!!

We stayed only one night but enjoyed our time there. The food was good the rooms spacious and comfortable. Stormy and Marty were more than helpful and completely professional. The themed bedrooms were very interesting. Hopefully the town of Grover will see what they have and use the Inn as the beginning of a full reconstruction of the area.

My eldery mother was having rennovations made on her home. She needed a respite from the construction. We were looking for a quite place where she could rest, be close to the major highways, and be pampered. We arranged for accomadations at Inn of the Patriots. We both we charmed with the balance Marti, Stormy, and JT have developed. Every possible need and desire where met. I have food allergies and Marti was able to provide us with a beautiful hot breakfast everyday. The owners do not hover, but are nearby. My mother's emotional and physical needs were honored. We had just the right amount of privacy.

I was only here for a night, but I was very impressed with the Inn of the Patriots. Marty patiently helped me with directions and restaurant recommendations and cooked a great breakfast. I would definitely stay there again.

Arrived and made to feel at home from the second we stepped in the door. Historically important to the town and the area. The Inn itself has nice large rooms and lots of interesting historic memorbilia to keep you interested. Marti will take you on a tour of the Inn and fill you in on the importance of the local area to the Revol. War. We are both Navy people working for and active duty and it was so nice to have a fellow military man, showing us around. Now if all that is not enough for you. Lets talk about the food.... three words fab u lous!!!! I never had some of the local foods and was happy to try scuppernongs and liver mush. It was exciting to see what was being cooked in the morning...great coffee, terrific food and wonderful company. This Inn is not just a passing place to stay. You should put it on your list as a destination. Add in that Marti was a former chef for the White House, that Stormy was born and raised in the area and that together they suite themselves as perfect ambassodors for the town of Grover. We just returned from a stay here this past Saturday night. Marti and Stormy are the most welcoming and agreeable hosts I have ever dealt with. Anything we asked, they assisted. The inn is beautiful and the breakfast was to die for!!!!

The room was great, but I would have slept on the floor for the breakfast!

We enjoyed the host tremendously. The food was excellent!!!!! We were given great referrals for nearby activities that were great.

We've stayed at many places over the years, but none compared to the Inn of the Patriots. The extra care we received was greatly appreciated. The food cooked by Chef Marty was worth the stay. And the room we chose to sleep in was elegant and most comfortable. My husband and I enjoyed the tour of the Inn and took many pictures. Not only did we vacation at the most wonderful Inn, but we learned so much about our country and it's past. Not to forget, so much about Marty and his work as a chef in the White House. His talent with the culinary arts is phenominal, especially to one's palet. The warm, relaxed atmosphere helped us enjoy every moment we were there. My friend found this B & B while looking for a place half way between Florida and Virginia for the four of us to spend a long weekend playing cards and hanging out. We are two couples who are retired & active duty Navy who love cooking and great eating and this place seemed to fit the specs perfectly. Marti, JT, and Stormy were the perfect hosts. They were as involved as you wanted them to be. All we wanted was a place to play Euchre, a place to stash our coolers , a Martini shaker, wine and martini glasses and hot coffee in the mornings. We got all that plus! Each morning we had awesome breakfasts. The Austian egg sandwich was a favorite, Marti. We took advantage of asking Marti to cook us a German meal one night and we were stuffed afterwards. Everything was outstanding. The apple strudel had to wait till we walked around the block, but it was great afterwards when we enjoyed it with a cuppa coffee. Marti recommended so many things that we could do. We didn't take advantage of them all as we were primarily there to play cards and relax, but we did take him up on some of his recommendations for dining and were not disappointed. The rooms were nicely decorated, the house tour was so informative and the amenities were great. This was the perfect place for a getaway and one we plan of visiting again and again. I recommend this to anyone who wants to relax and eat like you had a personal chef cooking for you. Marti is a character and someone you can't miss meeting. This is an unusual B&B. Martin Mongiello, who runs the inn, is a very interesting person. He goes out of his way to be friendly and to entertain you with accounts of his experiences as a White House chef as well as to give local historical information. Be sure to let him give you the "mansion" tour. The breakfast was delightful and the rooms filled with historical items.

This B&B provides traditional B&B offerings plus a gourmet full breakfast plus an historical experience. Very much recommended

Goes without saying the food was excellant! The atmosphere was relaxed family and Stormy Marti and TJ were fun to be around. The furnishings were an eclectic mix of all things Marti. The many places he has been and continues to go to and take part in are great to see and hear about. It was an adventure. Would love to go back.

The Inn of the Patriots itself was a pleasant place to stay. A quiet porch for reading and a lawn for horseshoes and croquet provided an abundance of leisurely entertainment. In addition, Chef Marty's tour of the mansion and White House culinary items was both interesting and very amusing. We would definitely stay again, and we would recommend the Inn of the Patriots to friends and family.

Marti was as welcoming as if we were members of his family. He immediately made us feel at home and gave us the best room in the house even though there were others vacant. His excitement over his collections of historic memorabilia is contagious and we really wished we had more time to see and hear about all that was there. A unique B&B with charming and informative hosts. Part of the house is used to display White House memorabilia as well as items collected from the chef/owners interesting naval past. Beautiful vintage rooms with perfect decor and the most gorgeous and elegant dining room.

My sister and I joined 3 cousins for a mini-family reunion in July. Marti and Stormy turned over the entire first floor to us, and three of us stayed 2 nights. The other two came down from Shelby and we spent hours in the parlor, laughing, talking and reminiscing. Everyone was very respectful of our need to talk and visit. We enjoyed Marti's delicious brownies while we sat and talked. Breakfasts were outstanding . . . especially the omelettes. Marti said he makes 22 different breakfasts and many different kinds of omelettes. I think it will be just a matter of time before we come back to sample more of them! We enjoyed the ambience, looking at the wonderful antiques, and walking in the garden. This is not a fancy place, but a home in which all are made to feel welcome. It was perfect for our needs, and we will certainly tell family and friends about it. I hope that next time we can take the tour and learn more about the history of the house and the people who were a part of Cleveland County's history. Thanks for a great stay!

My wife and I were happily surprised meeting the Manager/Chef/Historian of the B&B. The Mansion was well kept and very clean. Learning North Carolina's Patriot's contribution to helping forming our Country's freedom was increadible. We highly rercommend staying in the Inn for a day or a week. Richard Rubin

We enjoyed our stay at this B&B very much. The innkeeper was extremely knowledgeable about the history of the area. He gave us a tour of the mansion and offered to take us to a historical site. We were unable (due to our time constraints) to go to the historical site, however, we are looking forward to returning to this B&B. I would make only one suggestion. I would have preferred to have advance notice of the breakfast items to be served. The food was excellent, very nicely presented, and served promptly. The Inn was nicely decorated in the period of Civil War History. The bed was comfortable, the towels soft and plush, and lots of bathroom ammenities.

This B&B is very accommodating from our late arrival to our lost, locally purchased, merchandise. We had an exceptionally good culinary breakfast, which was served and prepared by a former Executive Chef to the President of the United States. The tour of the Presidential Culinary Museum was both very informative and historical. The innkeeper was also very knowledgeable about the local historical significance of the area. Through his input we were able to fully experience the importance of the area as it relates to the successful outcome of the Revolutionary War. The inn was well kept and very clean. We also enjoyed the exceptional furnishings from the Revolutionary period. When we departed we decided to plan out next trip north to include another stop at this inn. We will definitely pass the good word about this inn to our friends. The day we left, we received a cell phone call from the innkeeper to let us know that he had found some merchandise we had purchased (we thought we had lost the merchandise) and he was shipping the merchandise to our home address. The Inn of the Patriots is a very unique and interesting place to celebrate a special event. With its themed rooms, large porch with rocking chairs and fascinating artifacts and memorabilia covering every available wall and space, the building is as interesting on the inside as it is unpretentious on the outside. The Colonial ambiance of the Inn, coupled with the region’s place in history is a perfect match. Innkeepers Marti and Stormy are congenial, down to earth people that truly make you feel welcome in their home. Marti is very knowledgeable about the surrounding area and attractions and up to date on all local events. Fresh flowers in our room, breakfast by candlelight, a birthday cake for Joan and an impromptu invitation for me to be a “Redcoat” in the reenactment of the Battle at Kings Mountain were unexpected extras that added to an already pleasurable experience. The Inn of the Patriots may look like any other quiet bed and breakfast. However once you walk through the doors you know that you have stumbled upon a well kept culinary secret. Chef Marti is a former executive chef to the President of the United States. We choose the option to have the German dinner with Marti. He was polite enough to hold dinner an extra 45 minutes for us as we fought through traffic on our way from Virginia. A giant of a man, Marti met us in the foyer wearing a crisp white uniform and towering chef hat. We sat down at the formally set table as the smell of the German fare wafted in from the adjoining kitchen. My husband and I are history buffs and Chef Marti filled us in on the history of the mansion along with his tenure as an executive chef. I choose the Blue Ocean Dreams room to stay in. The room has all manors of nautical items, including many hidden items a vintage sailors uniform was draped on the bed. The entire mansion is a museum and you can spend quite a while reading the articles, pictures, and viewing antiques. The back porch is an ideal place to sit in the shade, or explore the civil war camp set up, complete with tent. We awoke early and my husband was able to spend some time pursuing the house and chatting with Chef Marti. I joined them after browsing through the ample literature for area attractions. The common sitting room was set up with many board games and toys. They also provide a guest kitchen where you can bring your own food, and prepare your own meals for an extended stay. Attention to detail is always a priority at the Inn of the Patriots. Candles were lit for breakfast and we sat down for a formal meal. A gourmet fruit salad and petite New York Strip steak with piping omelet was served. The omelet was excellent. Our stay at the Inn of the Patriots was memorable and Chef Marti and his family are the ultimate hosts. The dinner was a gourmet experience and the mansion a historic jewel.

We (my husband and I ) stayed at The Inn of the Patriots 3rd, 4th, and 5th of July, 2009. What I mean by the best of both worlds is that in my mind I knew that we were on vacation but in the present reality of it all I felt that we were right at home. The rooms are very well themed, and very, very well kept. The hospitality that we were shown during our stay was beyond anything we could have ever asked for. The meals were excellent and the breakfast was phenomenal (excellet french toast). The varieties of the jams and jellies were just out of this world. The den had internet access and board games as well as a good bit of intresting literature. The bedrooms were excellent and the amenities were all name brand and we just had an overall great time. This was and will be in the future our "Home away from home". Not to mention this is near 3 major battlesites from the Revolutionary War. These battlegrounds are very intresting in and of themselves. I would recommend this B&B to first timers as well as vetran B&B visitors.

Our anniversary trip this year had a historical theme. After enjoying the museums of Kings Mountain and Cowpens and touring the military battlefields, we settled in at the most unique B&B we have ever visited. We were in awe with the fabulous home tour,the in-depth historical knowledge of Marti, and the excellent dinner and huge breakfast prepared for us. Special personal touches were throughout the home. What a royal treat to have a former Camp David chef make this trip our best to date. Everything was beyond "perfect". Thank you Ron & Jan

2 nights of a pleasurable stay

A fabulous weekend for the 4th of July. Wonderful accommodations and hospitality. Marti and Stormy took wonderful care of us, very knowledgable on best things to do and how to get to them. A treat for any historian of the Revolution - or anyone just wanting a lovely get away. by the way superlative food!

Great house, great hosts; it's worth a visit to see the Presidential collectibles alone. We'll be back.

Wow this was the best weekend ever i was able to participate in the Revolutionary war reenactment while we were staying at the inn this is the only place i know of that puts you in the history of this country.the food and the costumes and the battle there isn't anything like it anywhere in the country or world that i have been involved in Thank you for everything Marti and Stormy

I was brought to the Inn of the Patriots for a weekend getaway. Unsure of what to expect, I was very pleasantly surprised when we arrived. Mark and Stormy were perfect hosts and our room was great! The whole trip was just topped off by our Sunday morning breakfast when Mark brought me my very own plate of gluten free pancakes to accommodate a Celiac diet. My weekend was a perfect introduction to what a true bed and breakfast should be, with a good dose of southern hospitality and charm.

I just wanted to say what a WONDERFUL job Marty, Stormy, & JT did with my family! They treated them like royalty! There is no-where else that I would ever send my family exept the Inn of the Patriots!

At the Inn of the Patriots we felt like they were genuine about taking care of their guests, not for good ratings but because they really cared. While the Inn had its cozy places it was also action oriented with a multitude of suggestions of things to do in the area as well as at the Inn. We enjoyed our stay.

Every detail to this place was outstanding. Marti is very generous with his vast knowledge of the area which really enhanced our stay. The attention to detail was really remarkable regarding the meals. We had homeade preseves and fresh greens from the garden. After dinner we had homeade strudel on the rocking chairs on the front porch....the hustle of city life just slipped away. JT and Stormy add true warmth and southern hospitality to this Inn. Marti is a true gentleman and underplays his vast experience and knowledge....we liked that very much. My husband and I would and most certainly will be stopping in on this special place again.

This year when my mom and dad both turned 80, we celebrated with a special dinner for the family at the Inn of the Patriots. Our group was small and included grand children from age 8 to 18. Everyone had a wonderful time. We played games on the front lawn, enjoyed appetizers in the front parlor and had a tour of the inn. The atmosphere was relaxed and the service was welcoming and attentive. Marty and Stormi presented a delicious meal and worked hard to make the occasion unforgettable.

Marti, Stormy and JT thank you for such a wonderful stay. Your hospitality was impeccable not to mention the delicious breakfasts each morning and the dinner Friday night. I didn't feel like a hotel guest in your home I felt like family. I needed a refresher to refocus and that's exactly what I left with. Who would have thought starting your day with breakfast on the patio in the rain could be so peaceful. I will follow you to where every lives journey takes you in the hospitality industry. For those of you reading this to determine if you’re going to visit the Inn of the Patriots please visit if you’re looking for a family friendly, laid back country weekend or week away because that is what you will receive. It's not one of those nose in your air B&B's where you feel like a hotel guest and your bill looks like one. So if that's what you want don't book. Hopefully you want peace and quiet time to reflect and reconnect with yourself, your spouse or even the kids and you want a deliciously prepared breakfast in the morning that you don't have to cook. Our family spent one night at The Inn of the Patriots on our way to our spring break vacation destination. It was a special treat. Marti was extremely gracious. He was a chef for the White House when he was in the service. He is also very knowledgeable about the history of the area. We enjoyed the stories he had to tell as well as the food that he prepared. The Inn is a virtual museum and Marti gave us a brief but very interesting tour before we left. Marti makes every effort to make your stay at his inn a memorable event. I would recommend The Inn of the Patriots to anyone who is passing through the area.

My husband decided we could use a small getaway and researched and found this beautiful inn. We decided to take up the innkeepers on a German dinner the first night and we were not disappointed. The food was incredible! Breakfast was also fantastic both mornings. One morning we ate with all the guests and our last morning we were served breakfast in bed! What a treat! Marti, Stormy, and JT are great innkeepers. Marti shared many historical facts and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. I'm sure we will be visiting this bed and breakfast again.

My husband and I stayed for a two night get-away. We thoroughly enjoyed the accomodations and breakfast was fabulous! King's Mountain was a wonderful place to visit. We also created our own winery trip and visited local vineyards which was fun too! Marti and Stormy were great hosts!

My husband and I stayed with Chef Marti & fam a few months ago and had no idea what an amazing culinary treat we were in for! There's a reason the world's leaders seek him out for their own kitchens -- and I felt like a queen myself dining at his table. It was just the two of us staying with him that morning, but he went all out -- with freshly cut fruit and berries, sizzling bacon, fried potatoes, and the most amazing goat-cheese-and-rosemary omelet seasoned with herbs from his own garden. Marti's also a serious history buff and gave us a great historical tour of the property, which is an adorable 19th-century home. The proprieters were very warm and welcoming, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The decor could use a little work, which is the only thing holding me back from giving the Inn a perfect rating. I know the place is still a work in progress, and I think that if the carpet were ripped up and the two downstairs rooms treated to an interior designer's touch, the Hambright Mansion would be as lovely and charming as it could be. We got into town late and had to leave the next morning, so I was sad that we didn't have more time to explore tiny Grover, NC. But we did have a lovely time sitting in the rocking chairs on the front porch listening to the crickets chirp and the very occasional car go by. If I'm ever up that way again, I would definitely stop by for a stay at the Inn of the Patriots and another one of Chef Marti's 4-star omelets. I recommend it to all my Carolina friends.

We chose this inn on the strength of the web site and we were not disappointed. The breakfasts and Marty’s cooking tips were excellent. This inn exudes history. Marty as our guide not only filled us in on the house but the neighboring military parks at Cowpens and King’s Mountain. He went above the normal innkeeper service by making sure that we were informed of what was happening in the area. In addition, Marty called us before our visit to answer any question. He called us afterwards to make sure we got home safely. The ignition key for our Honda fell apart. Marty spent an hour and some olive oil to put it back together. We couldn’t start the car otherwise. He wanted us safely out of the area before the snowstorm. Many B&Bs are nicely decorated and have excellent food. What makes this B&B superior above other is Marty’s personal service and thoughtfulness.

It was a loving pleasure to be helpful in a desperate time of need. These kind folks had already checked out when they came back with a snapped car key in their hands and no way to get home. We repaired the key for them in our kitchen with some garlic stir fry oil and a jewelers screwdriver. It worked! We knew we bought that flavored oil for something! YAY!!!

Loved the food and everyon was so nice, our room was hot down stairs but other than that I would do it all over again, loved the atmosphere.

This was my first experience at a B & B, I have to say it was Fantastic, after we got there Marti had us a wonderful meal with more than enough food and desserts, we could hardly eat it all, after the meal the massage was "Awsome", I was a virgin so I throughly enjoyed it. Slept like a baby, my room was so comfortable, they had to come and wake me for breakfast, which was an 8 course meal in its self, I really enjoyed the tour of the INN before we left, Marti and his delightful family made our party and night out very special, I will stay there again.
