We had an outstanding weekend at Burke Manor, especially because we enjoyed a cooking demonstration by chef Lil, who owns the renowned restaurant Saint Jacques. His food was amazing, his wit was sharp, and his love of food shines. The staff was courteous and prompt, and the breakfast which they prepared was equally satisfying.

We enjoyed our stay very much. The room was very clean & comfortable and the people were great. Breakfast was terrific with lots of home grown items from their garden. We'll be back.

Outstanding service by Wendy which was polite and very helpful. Excellent breakfasts. Only regret was that our schedule did not permit us to have dinner at the Inn's restaurant which is only open on weekends.

We were blessed to share Thanksgiving with the folks at Burke Manor. They were wonderful, welcoming and accommodating. What a blessing!

The room was clean and comfortable and the Inn charming and the grounds are well kept. Disappointed that the pool was closed - it was so hot. Breakfasts great but 2 dinners had some disappointment. Undercooked poultry, over done escargots - and all very expensive for what it was.

My husband and I chose to spend our 37th wedding anniversary at The Burke Manor Inn while on our way home from vacation. We were warmly welcomed by our hostess, Emily! She was friendly, helpful, and efficient! The Inn is very beautiful, charming, and inviting!! Our room was outstanding in all ways. We stayed in room 201. It was lovely! We cannot say enough about the quality of the Burke Manor Inn and its staff! They helped make our "special day" an extra special one! After dinner, we relaxed in our room and spent a restful night. The Inn is enchanting! In the morning, we enjoyed a great breakfast of fresh fruit seasoned to perfection (will have to visit to check the fruit out!), scrambled eggs with fresh vegetables from their garden, bacon, toast, grits, orange juice, coffee, and water. The breakfast was outstanding, along with our hostess, Emily who warmly prepared it, and served it, with the best of style! We loved the Inn and the town; it is our hope to return again and often. We would highly recommend The Burke Manor Inn! It is our belief that you will not be disappointed! Roanoke Rapids, NC

We had our daughter's wedding on March 23, 2013 at the Burke Manor Inn and everyone had a wonderful time. It was more of a weekend event as our family is from out-of-town. The bride's side of the family used all the rooms at the Inn and the cottage in the rear was a fun place for the bride and her bridesmaids to spend the night before the wedding and have a quaint party. The Inn uses a quiet, beautiful old church for the ceremony (you can use the Inn's garden, but my daughter wanted a church wedding) and then the Inn has a large pavilion for the reception. Our family arrived Friday and the staff was always helpful. Wendy, a staff member, and Lori, the inn keeper were always there when I, mother of the bride, needed something or when an error was made by a vendor and needed to be taken care of. We also had our rehearsal dinner at the Inn restaurant, Saint Jacque's, and it was much enjoyed by everyone. I first meet with Lori in July before the wedding. She was very prompt with answering my questions and letting me know estimates. We used email for our correspondence. She was easy to work with and she is a very calm person and always wanted to do and help with anything we wanted. My family had a great time being together at the inn. The parlor was a relaxing room where family would hang out and being together for the delicious breakfasts was so much fun as well. The wedding was the icing on the cake and having done all the work before the weekend, and having Lori and her staff to take care of everything during the weekend was a blessing. I would recommend this venue as a fantastic options for a family event.

What a wonderful spot to celebrate a special occasion. Our room was lovely and the service was impeccable. We were able to relax and enjoy our luxurious dinner and our dessert was delivered to our room! Can't say enough about how sweet Mia was to us. Breakfast was wonderful and we thoroughly enjoyed our tour of the property with Wendy. It's crystal clear that both ladies love what they do and are passionate about providing a unique and memorable experience for their guests.
