Trestle House Inn

Built in 1972 as a retreat, the Inn overlooks a wildlife refuge on a private lake with acres of yellow pine trees. Surrounded on three sides by water. Most of the rooms have a water view. Behind the Inn is a large pond fed by the Albemarle Sound. The pond is full of largemouth bass, yellow bream and is home to hundreds of Canadian Geese and other wonderful waterfowl. Trestle House is truly a wildlife enthusiast's dream. You can canoe from the pond out to the Albemarle Sound(largest freshwater sound in the world). The interior is highlighted by massive beams of California Redwood milled from a trestle of the Norfolk/Southern railroad.
