Lovill House Inn

We recently spent a couple of days at the Lovill House to relax and check out Boone. The innkeepers were very nice and not intrusive, the property was lovely and the house itself was beautiful. Breakfast was delicious and I took advantage of the in room massage and was not disappointed. Our room was exceptionally clean as was the rest of the home. We would certainly stay there again and recommend to others.

We had a wonderful stay and I would highly recommend this B&B! The room was very nice and the bed was very comfortable - affording a great nights sleep. While breakfast, during both our mornings, was very good - we've found serving buffet style usually falls short for the last few folks in line. Scott and Anne are excellent Inn keepers and Scott provided us with a great orientation to the property. The location was great for our stay and for anyone spending a little time in the smokey mountains. Scott has the Lovill property in excellent condition, one any do-it-yourself yard buff would love to call their own! If you go, pack something a little extra in your pocket - no not money - a doggie treat! Heidi is the Lovill House mascot and protector. Our recent stay at the Lovill House included everything we look for and hope to find in an excellent B&B. We were impressed from the moment we were welcomed by Scott & Anne. They were gracious, warm, and accommodating hosts from beginning to end. The property has been tastefully updated and maintained in order to provide all of the modern conveniences of home, while still maintaining its historic look and feel. The meals were creative and delicious. Without a doubt, one of our best B&B experiences and one we would not hesitate to revisit!

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay! My husband also purchased the massage package for me and it was amazing! The owners know the area very well and are very friendly and accommodating!

Our son and son-in-law stayed at Lovill House Inn (located in Boone, NC) last year and enjoyed their stay so much they gave my husband a gift certificate for his birthday. We finally had a chance to use it this year on April 12. The building and the grounds are beautiful and peaceful. The room was beautiful, comfortable, and very clean. We were made to feel very at home with a tour of the house, an invitation to explor the grounds, a library of movies, and being welcome to use the glasses and refrigerator. After a very cozy night's rest we were delighted to have a very delicious breakfast in the Inn's dining room. We recommend Lovill House Inn to everyone. Our only regret is that we couldn't stay longer and had to return home-albeit for my husband's surprise 50th birthday party. We plan to return again and again.

We spent 4 days and 3 nights at the Lovill House Inn from April 21st thru April 24th. The grounds were perfectly manicured and beautiful. The Springhouse Cottage was very cozy. The cottage was immaculate. Scott and Anne were very attentive to our request for privacy. Scott delivered coffee to our cottage each morning and was always cheerful and most accommodating when questioned about area attractions and dining options. The experience far exceeded our expectations. Our visit was much too short but we will surely return. We didn't utilize the dining room every day but when we did the variety and quality of food offered was excellent. There isn't much more we can say other than try it you'll like it. Thanks Anne and Scott for a great experience and for sharing your slice of heaven with us.

We've been visiting Anne and Scott for more than 6 years. They are the best at making you feel comfortable and relaxed. They are not just innkeepers - they are dearest friends who know how to make you have a relaxing stay.

Lovill House was not only ideal in it's location to enjoy Boone and the surrounding area, but it was a beautiful place to spend time in. My wife and I stayed there recently for our anniversary and it was spectacular. We were greeted with such warmth that it felt like we were family. It is a beautiful and historic home.

My wife and I were celebrating our first anniversary, so I surprised her with a trip to this lovely and picturesque B&B just outside downtown Boone. When I made the reservation on their website, there was limited room available, so I took the only room they had. I also ordered a couple of optional services (champagne and handmade chocolate covered strawberries after dinner the first night, and an hour-long massage followed by champagne and a meat/cheese tray on the second day). I then received a call from Scott confirming the reservation and scheduling for the options. A little later on, I received an email from Anne offering us an upgrade to the Hickory room. Apparently they had a last minute cancellation, and since it was our anniversary, they offered it to us first. It was PERFECT!!! It had a switch-on fireplace, loveseat, and beautiful decor. Scott and Anne were amazing hosts, and the breakfast was spectacular! On our last day, we were the only ones in the house, so Anne asked us the day before what we liked for breakfast, and she made a custom breakfast for each of us! We WILL be returning! The Lovill is certainly more expensive than most hotels I've stayed at in Boone, but the obvious love that Scott and Anne put into their service make it really feel like going home.

Best B&B me and my wife ever stayed at!!!

We stayed in the Bristol Room and it was a wonderful room. The fire place was what sold us on the room. We will be staying again. The end is spot less everything is very clean an well cared for. The end keepers are very nice people who want to please you in avery way.

A light snowfall throughout our Valentine's weekend set the stage for a quiet rest in this fantastic Inn. Scott and Anne were warm and welcoming throughout our stay. Everything was as good or better than described. Other guests helped make the weekend memorable.

Very homey and cozy place. Our room was very nice and comfortable. I liked the size of the inn - just enough couples to talk and get to know one another. Not too large. Breakfasts were very tasty. Scott provided lots of help and info on things to do in the area and also history of the inn. Best of all, it snowed while we were there (we were hoping it would!) and when we arrived back at the inn at 10pm Sat. in a snow storm, Scott and Ann were waiting up for us to make sure we made it safely. They were out shoveling snow to make us a path to the house! Nice folks! We'll be back.

This was my first valentine's day with my boyfriend and it will be one i never forget. We spent a lovely night enjoying the ambiance and the beautiful scenery. the staff was lovely,very informative, and made us feel right at home. Everything was spotless and the food at breakfast was exquisite. it was very refreshing to sit down to breakfast with another couple at the same table and have a conversation with them and make new friends. we plan to return next year for valentines!

very friendly and accomodating hosts - the rooms were spacious, squeaky clean and very cozy. When you are there it's hard to believe you're right off of King Street! We felt like we'd spent longer than just a night

The owners really did a great job making sure you had everything that You needed. The location was great for walking to town for lunch and a little shopping. We would stay again if we were ever in that area again.

We stayed two nights at the Lovill house in October and just can't say enough about this lovely B&B. From the time we were greeted at the front door until we ended our visit, the proprietors, Scott and Anne (and Heidi, their beautiful dog), did everything they could to make us feel comfortable. We stayed in the Bristol Room, which had a huge fireplace, plenty of storage, and a very comfortable bed. The breakfasts were delicious and beverages were always available in the refrigerator. The grounds were beautiful and well-maintained and the wrap-around porch was a wonderful place to sit and relax. Anne and Scott suggested various restaurants for our evening meals and we took their advice to eat at Casa Rustica and at Char. The food was delicious at both places.

My husband and I stayed at the Lovill House Inn for 2 nights in October 2012 and was so pleased with the stay. The moment you walk through the front door Scott and Anne make you feel so welcome. The home is beautiful and very clean. Did I mention the home was very clean! The morning coffee in front of the wood fireplace was so relaxing. Breakfast was excellent! Our room "Linville" was very large with a nice bathroom. The Lovill House is also close to the many attractions, but we were so glad we went in the Fall and enjoyed the trees in their full color on the Blue Ridge Parkway. The Inn Keepers were very personable and accomidating. Our visit was more pleasant of an experience than we could have wished for. We will be sure to return in the future as we can not see staying in a hotel with such comfort and atmosphere at our finger tips there at the Lovill House Inn.

Great rooms and location, but the really big draw here is the innkeepers and the hospitality. Breakfast is always special and served communally at 8:30. The guests mingle beforehand and breakfast conversations are lively. If you want to know what's worth seeing here, or anywhere else the guests have travelled, this is the way to do it. Hat's off to Anne and Scott. This was our 3rd visit and there will certainly be many more.

We visited the Lovill House Inn and Boone for a short weekend in hopes to see the October leaves at their finest. The B&B is located at the end of the main street making it a great location without being right in the middle of the busy Boone village. The grounds are beautiful and Scott the innkeeper is very helpful with new visitors to the area telling them about the area, things to see and of course the easiest ways to get there. We would love to go back and have an opportunity to spend more time and do more relaxing.

Our sixth trip to The Lovill House Inn was just as lovely as our first with the exception that the breakfasts were even more delicious! The inn has always been so clean and beautifully kept with new furnishings, updated room decor and lovely gardens! The dahlias are gorgeous. There were always several scattered about in the inn and in our room as well. We love sharing breakfast with the other guests and letting the conversation drift to family, work, restaurants and activities in the area, and even recipes! Thanks to Anne and Scott, the innkeepers and our friends, we have always had great suggestions for fun! This year, they suggested a bicycle ride on The Virginia Creeper Trail because they had done it and enjoyed it so much. We loved it! All these years we have never tired of the area and really look forward to our visit! We enjoy sitting in the cozy living room reading and listening to music after dinner. It is truly our home away from home!

This was our first time in Boone and our first time at the Lovill House. It was our 40th wedding anniversary and Scott and Anne went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and to make suggestions as to what we should go see and restaurants for dinner. This was a short trip prior to my wife returning to work after major surgery. We could not have found a better place to stay than the Lovill House. Scott and Anne were perfect hosts. The house has a lot of history, our room was spotless and had all the comforts of home, and the breakfast was delicious. We definitely will visit again.

The Innkeepers are very friendly and knowledgeable. Breakfast was delicious and the conversation encouraged by family-style seating was interesting. The garden is very beautiful!! Scott and Anne obviously spend almost as many hours pampering their flowers as they spend pampering their guests. I would happily stay again.

Beautiful home with a working gas fireplace in our room. The propietor's are friendly and efficient, and the other guests friendly. If you go, make sure you ask about the history of Heidi, their wonderful dog.

An absolutely lovely home. Hosts hospitable to a fault. A most delicious breakfast. And a wonderfully comfortable and well-appointed room. The perfect place to wind up after a long day of travelling. AND some terriffic restaurants just a short drive away. If you stay at Lovill House, be sure to dine at Char.

My husband and I recently experienced our first stay at the Lovill House Inn. We had never stayed in a bed and breakfast before then, and were lucky enough to be spoiled by the experience our first go round. The inn is located on lovely acreage, you don't hear a lot of noise from surrounding neighbors, and and Scott and Ann make you feel truly welcome. I can't recommend this place enough. We will definitely be back!

I think it best to start with the critical, if only because there are few and they are simple in nature. While there are many comforts and built in amenities, the per night cost is a bit a high. There do not seem to be any advantageous discounts to most that would certainly benefit the operators such as a credit or discount for booking a certain amount in advance or filling last minute vacancies (that otherwise would have been unfilled for the night) or to frequent guests or those who provide multiple referrals (i.e. additional business) etc, etc.. The breakfast served, while tasty, is nothing that will shock and amaze you. The amenities such as beverages, media (dvds, videos, tv, etc), parking, and such are of a similar experience. While discounts are limited, for the right person, the price is a deal. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. The common areas and rooms are not only tidy and clean but extremely relaxing. The kitchen is always stocked with beverages of all sorts from soda to beer to wine complimentary to current guests. There is also a library of DVDs and videos with a wide range of options that is free of charge. The caretakers/owners are pleasant and accommodating. While there are an array of materials to reference for possible local food and entertainment, they are also a valuable resource. The location itself makes it feel as if you are deep in the mountains but are within walking distance of the main thoroughfare and ASU. For those that don’t mind the cost, the proximity to Boone proper is prime. For guests such as us, avid readers, it is all we need. It has the feel and comforts of home but the solace and solitude of a resort. With rooms that have plushy furnishings, outdoor benches, swings, etc, and a fully furnished wrap around porch it is a reader’s or crafter’s haven! While we will probably only budget an occasional visit this is certainly a place we plan to stay again!

We loved having our own private room but eating breakfast with the house was great! We got to talk a lot with the other guests and bumped into them while we were downtown-- makes it feel less touristy. The innkeepers were so friendly and approachable. We can't wait to make this an annual vacation!

The Lovill House Inn was a delight to find and exceeded our expectations. Boone's oldest home is rich in history and beautifully restored. Exquisite gardens, apple trees with deer feeding on the fruit, rocking chairs on the front porch, hardwood floors, comfortable beds with luxury linen, private yet very convenient to downtown, and very gracious hosts all make for a delightful stay. We will go back.

Hosts were very friendly and wonderful. The gardens surrounding the home are so beautiful. The room was completely clean and nice. I'm very picky so sometimes have to clean rooms before I feel comfortable, but I didn't have to do that here!! Food was perfect. Complimentary drinks. Great location. Very special place and weekend and can't wait to go back again!!

Even though the weather was uncooperative (it rained quite a bit), our visit was a success due to the hospitality of the Lovill House Inn. We recommend it highly and will visit again when we can. Thank you Scott and Anne for your hospitality.

This is a lovely bed and breakfast. It is one of the oldest buildings in Boone with a wonderful wrap-around porch. The owners Scott and Anne are friendly and very helpful and Anne cooks up a delicious breakfast and is attentive to dietary restrictions. Be aware that it is close to town -- which is convenient but there is some road noise. The gardens and grounds are beautiful and well-maintained. The bed was the most comfortable I have ever slept in away from home and the rooms seemed to be sound-proofed. Highly recommended!

Our stay at Lovill House made an outstanding weekend most excellent! We loved the Inn, the grounds are stunning, and Scott and Anne are wonderfully gracious hosts. Our son is applying to App State next year. We have definitely found where we'll stay on every visit!

We had a wonderful time at Lovill House Inn. Great Location, the grounds and gardens were kept up impeccably. We saw bunnies everyday and even a beautiful deer. Travellers from around the world stay at the Lovill House and I now know why. The Inn and grounds are beautiful and well maintained. Anne and Scott were wonderful hosts and very helpful in answering all my questions. The Inn is located at the south end of Boone convenient to routes that take you to many sightseeing locations. I would highly recommend the Lovill House Inn and will certainly return.

We enjoyed our stay Lovill House and if we are in the area again would certainly stay there. I do have a little problem with the star rating as my stay there met my expectations and as far as I'm concerned that is what I expect and am happy with. Perhaps "Met my expectations" should be four stars.

Beautiful old house, conveniently (and quietly) located at the outskirts of Boone, very close to major attractions (Blue Ridge Parkway!). With innkeepers like Anne & Scott nothing can go wrong: they provide you with the most detailed and complete directions from the first email-contact on and they're experts on the region, know the best attractions, the best restaurants (try nearby Vidalia!), and are great cooks as well (great breakfast). My wife and I enjoyed a two night stay at Lovill House Inn while attending our son's freshman orientation at Appalachian State University. Our only regret is that the faculty at App State kept us so busy that we didn't get as much time at the property as we would have liked. But...we already have reservations for August over the weekend of our son's "move-in date"...and will then take full advantage! Peaceful, charming, elegant. Scott and Anne were wonderful hosts. I don’t think we could have found a better place to spend our 29th anniversary.

The breakfast each morning was amazing and we couldn't have asked for better service. We expected to spend money but it was well worth it. Our room was so cozy and perfect for our retreat away from home.

This place is wonderful! The Inn was beautiful, the breakfast was delectable, the room was outstanding, but best of all, were the innkeepers Scott and Anne. I made plans to propose to my fiancée in the NC Mountains sometime in early 2012. After thoroughly searching around the web and asking for recommendations, I decided to give the Lovill House Inn a call. I called the inn later into the evening on a Wednesday night and Scott answered. I told him my plans and from the beginning, he was very helpful and jovial. Quickly into our call, I knew this was the place. Scott and I concocted our plans and over the next few weeks, he helped me make our wonderful weekend happen. Later into a Friday evening, we arrived at the inn and Scott gave us a wonderful tour. During the tour, we were taken in by the beautiful house. He made us feel right at home and helped us to our room. We both loved the place right away. Both weekend mornings, Anne prepared a scrumptious breakfast. There were plenty of options and we left full and happy. Scott and Anne are incredibly interesting and have many wonderful stories to share. They encourage guests to meet and great. They treat everyone with respect and provide outstanding customer service. Both provided my fiancée and me with great advice and tips about the area. Lovill house is an amazing B&B the history to the town of Boone and the House is very interesting. The Bristol Room we stayed in was fantastic very quaint and cozy with its own wood burning fire place for a wonderful romantic experience. The servive is supurb Scott, Ann and their staff are wonderful and extremely friendly making everyone feel comfortable and at home. The place is spotless, the livingroom with its grand fire place and wonderful light hearted music playing makes for a great meeting place and very relaxing. The dining experience well what can we say the food Anne prepares is wonderful she is an amazing cook. The fruit the serve with breakfast is extremely fresh and the atmosphere is great. I highly recommend Lovill House to anyone wanted to have one of the best experiences they will ever have at a B&B, and there prices are very reasonable we will be returning first chase we get.

we had a wonderful stay at the Lovill House. Scott and Anne are great hosts and made us feel right at home. Scott is full of suggestions on where to visit and very knowledgeable about the area. the breakfasts are delicious!

My boyfriend and I stayed here for New Years Eve and were extremely happy with not only the service and the Bristol Room, but we were also surprised to find how close we were to downtown Boone and King St. Lovill House is about a 10 minute walk to shopping and dining. It most definitely made for a convenient New Years celebration. It's worth mentioning the Bristol Room is filled with charm and history, being that the Lovill House is the oldest house in Boone, NC. The wood burning fireplace was a plus for us and the main reason we chose this room above all others. It's nostalgic charm and cozy feel made getting up for breakfast extremely hard, but worth it. Scott and Ann are lovely innkeepers and I would recommend this B&B to anyone looking for something not too tucked away for some city slicker action but just enough to enjoy 10 acres of exploring. Most definitely a home away from home.

Once again our Lovill House Inn experience was excellent. This was our second consective year staying with Ed and Ann and the we can't say enough about their hopitality and genuine desire to make our stay a memorable one.

We were looking for a simple, relaxing getaway in quaint setting and boy did we find it. The experience was simple yet elegant.

We recently stayed at the Lovill House and it was an incredible experience. The Inn is incredible with beautiful grounds, wonderful atmosphere and top notch hospitality. We arrived early and received a map to our Christmas Tree location. When we returned our room was ready, received a tour of the grounds and even saw a 6 point buck outside the back door. We will be going back again and hope to make it a yearly event. Loved it!!!

Scott and Anne are fabulous hosts and went out of their way to make our stay relaxing and memorable. Anne went above and beyond by preparing food to accommodate my special diet. I was surprised and especially touched. No bed & breakfast that I have stayed at before has done that for me!

We have stayed at many B&B's over the past 20 years. The Lovill House Inn is a great location for an APPState football weekend. Close enough to downtown to walk, but secluded enough for quiet relaxation. We liked having the buffett breakfast for choices. It was also nice to come down to breakfast have a cup of coffee first and be ablt to chat with other quest. Scott and Anne are very nice innkeepers!!!!1

We just returned from a trip to Boone and a visit to the Lovill House Inn. From the moment we arrived, Scott and Anne treated us as old friends and were happy to help us with information on restaurants, outings, etc. The breakfasts were outstanding, and there was a choice of light fare (yogurt, fruit) and/or egg dishes and breads. We stayed in the Spring House for a weekend getaway to celebrate our 1st year anniversary. The small cottage met our expectations and then some. Great privacy while also providing us all of the amenities of the main house. The small touches provided by Scott and Anne, such as chocolate-covered strawberries and heart-shaped waffles to celebrate our anniversary was icing on the cake. Will definitely stay here again.

We recently stayed at the Lovill House Inn located in Boone, NC. Whether we need to just 'get away' from it all, are travelling, or on a vacation, our first choice for a place to stay is at a bed and breakfast. The high quality of service, the rooms, dining and atmosphere are what you expect when staying at a bed and breakfast and the Lovill House Inn is no exception. Our hosts, Scott and Anne, were very gracious and accomodating (as we needed to check in earlier than the allotted time). We highly recommend staying at the Lovill House Inn - you won't be disappointed!

We found the innkeepers to be warm, welcoming and full of information they were willing to share. We felt they really cared about us being there and enjoying our visit to the Boone area to the fullest. Their desire to make us feel at home greatly surpassed our expectations and we would recommend them to all who wished to visit that area of our state.

We had planned a weekend in the mountains and could not have been more pleased with our choice of places to stay. Everything was perfect, from the rooms, to the beautiful grounds, the breakfast, and the warm hospitality of the innkeepers, Scott and Anne. The location is great, right near downtown Boone but far enough away to escape the noise.

We enjoyed our stay at Lovill House Inn. The hosts were very helpful with dinner suggestions and things to do in the area, the breakfasts were amazing, and the inn and grounds are beautiful. We have been to many b&b's and this was the first one that had wine available for the guests in the kitchen fridge!

Very clean, host was quite solicitous, road noise in the room I had was pretty constant, mattress and pillows were very comfortable, wireless for the iPad was hard to find, gardens and property were totally charming. Value would have been better if I had arrived earlier and stayed later to enjoy both the property, the breakfast and the people more. The large porch with swings and cosy chairs was peaceful and inviting. I would stay there again and would recommend the place to others.

The Lovill House went above and beyond our expectations. Scott and Anne were warm and gracious hosts, the rooms were delightful and the food was spectacular. It has a beautiful garden; you simply can't go wrong!

We just got back Friday from a wonderful 3-night stay at the Lovill House Inn in Boone. The location was great--only a few blocks from downtown Boone but sitting on the front porch felt like you were a million miles away from the world. The heirloom flowers in the gardens were gorgeous and perfect for a historic home. Scott and Ann were the best of hosts, giving us enough attention to make us feel welcome and at home but giving us enough space to feel free to enjoy their home. The breakfasts were delicious and we had such a good time with the other guests that we found ourselves lingering at the dining room table each morning. We hope that we will get the chance to visit Lovill House Inn again.

We were celebrating our anniversary and spent two days at the Lovill House. Scott and Anne go above and beyond in every aspect starting with the breakfast which were both outstanding. They know so many things to do in the area; they can keep you busy your entire stay. Don't know where to have dinner? Don't worry, they have menus for all the restaurants so you can sit in the living room and browse them. Anne and Scott are great. We had a great time.

Just the best place! In the city, but feels like it is miles away from anywhere. The pictures don't do the inn justice. it is immaculate and tastefully decorated. How can anyone stay here and not love it? You are greeted warmly by the owner, fed well, sleep soundly, surrounded by beauty, and all for a reasonable price. The inn keepers are so charming, knowledgeable, and accommodating. That, alone, is worth the trip. Additionally though, the historical house is conducive to relaxation. You can sit on the porch rockers with a book and a glass of wine. You can listen to music, watch a movie (they have a huge collection), help yourself to a variety of beverages in the fridge, walk the gardens, sit by the fire, or head out to the zillions of possible things to do in the area. My elderly father and I stayed there while visiting my son at App State. We couldn't have picked a better retreat. My son was welcomed like family by the innkeepers when he stopped in to pick us up. Stay there. You won't be disappointed.

There's not a better place to stay in the heart of the High Country than the Lovill House. What a wonderful, peaceful, enjoyable time we spent getting to know Scott and Anne and walking around the breathtaking grounds. We loved our visit to the Lovill House Inn. Scott and Anne are outstanding hosts--very familiar with the area, willing to share information, and warm and welcoming. The grounds are beautiful with lovely flower gardens, a stream right outside the inn, and a gazebo with a porch swing next to the stream to help you relax and enjoy a quiet morning. The wrap-around porch is wonderful with an abundance of rocking chairs and tables. The location of the inn is downtown Boone, but it's hidden behind a wall of trees so you would never know you were near King St. But that makes it a perfect, centrally located place to use for day trips and close to downtown restaurants and shopping. We were celebrating our anniversary and had never been to Boone. I had found the Lovill House Inn by researching online and decided, "why not?" I am so thankful that we did! Scoot & Anne took such great care of us and made sure we were as comfortable as if we were at our very own home. They made sure we knew the area and gave us guided instrutions and information about the area. We also were impressed that they gave a military discount. I just hope we get a chance to visit Boone again and if we do you will find us at the Lovill House Inn!

We could not have asked for a better place to end our trip to NC. Anne and Scott are the best innkeepers and the whole place is just lovely. Breakfast was outstanding, tasty, delicious, with a bit of everything. Our room on the second floor was beautiful with a very comfortable bed and a nice bathroom.

This is the quintessential B&B experience. Anne and Scott are wonderful hosts and great prople. They are very helpful with finding restaurants, things to do, and making your stay relaxing and enjoyable. This historic house was very beautiful. We especially liked the wormy chestnut (saved from renovation of the house) door facings. The grounds were inviting to look at and walk around. There were many personal touches such as heated coffee mugs and turn down service. We couldn't ask for a cleaner inn--our bedroom and bath were immaculate. The hosts were available to answer our questions and help whenever needed. We especially enjoyed the full breakfast each morning.

We had a most enjoyable and pleasant stay with Scott and Anne. They were very gracious and hospitable and full of information on the historic property and the town. We stayed in the Cottage behind the main house and it was imaculant with a small fireplace inside and a wonderfull view from the porch! We experienced great southern hospitality by the inn keepers themselves! We had a very tastefull breakfast waiting for us the next morning with plenty left for secounds if wanted and fresh brewed ground coffee! I would recommend the Lovill house inn to anyone wanting that taste of home feel with the southern hospitality as well.

We pullled into Boone at 4PM on Thanksgiving day - no idea where to stay. Punched my smartphone looking for a B&B - with great wonder, the Lovill house I did see. They asked if we would join them for a Thanksgiving feast - we replyed, of course we'll help you carve that beast! It was the BEST thanksgiving diner to date!!! Make your reservations for Christmas and don't be late!!!! Thank you Scott and Anne - surely you will see us again.

From the moment we arrived at the Lovill House Inn to the moment we left, it was a great experience. We arrived the day after Thanksgiving and were greated by Scott, Anne and the lingering smell of a big family dinner. Scott and Anne were extremely friendly and helped us with everything we needed. We only stayed one night and they treated us like we had been there for a week. The room was spotless and the bed was great. Loved the turn-down service while we were at dinner. Now comes the food. My wife and I decided to get away for the Thanksgiving holiday seeing how we had our family gathering the weekend before. Since the Lovill House Inn was offering a Thanksgiving dinner package we decided to opt in. What a great choice that was!. The meal was fantastic, everything you would expect for a Thanksgiving feast. Anne and Scott (innkeepers) joined the guests for the meal making everyone feel like family. Breakfast was also great, very attentive service. Anne is a terrific cook; Scott is a wealth of information. This couple knows how to treat their guests. The room was very spacious, clean, comfortable. We would definitely return!

Our son is a Freshman at App St. Our stay was the first time we had been up to see him. The Lovill is a great location - close to everything. From now on, we will be staying at the Lovill House Inn.

We have visited many times at the Lovill House Inn and found it to be our 'home away from home'! All the rooms are uniquely decorated inviting warmth and serenity. This past visit we stayed two nights in the roomy Bristol Suite with its comfortable king bed and wood-burning fireplace! Scott and Anne have always been courteous, attentive hosts catering to our every need and have put much thought and effort into presenting tasty gourmet breakfasts as well. Upon arrival, the innkeeper met us and gave a thorough tour and instructions on using the facilities. The Inn was clean, nicely decorated, and well organized. However, there was no "hosted social hour" as advertised (we were invited to help ourselves to soft drinks or box wine, which was nearly empty) nor was there a fire in the fireplace as promised during breakfast. Only a couple acres of the 11-acre estate were available for guests to enjoy, the rest being an undeveloped ridge.

I would like to say I am sorry. The night you stayed with us was my birthday. Our son and his bride booked a room to surprise me, and I dropped the ball in not recognizing that the social hour was important to you. Concerning the fireplace the next morning, I believe that no one was in the living room by 8:20 so we did not light the fire since breakfast was at 8:30. The layout of our property is 11 acres, 8 are wooded and 3 are groomed. You can walk up to the waterfall, sit in the gazebo swing or enjoy the picnic table under the walnut tree. Hopefully, the next time you come you can stay longer and fully enjoy what we have to offer. We look forward to welcoming you back.

Stayed two night in the lenoir room. It was very clean and comfortable but a little noisy due to the fact of the house being in close proximity to the highway but nothing that kept me awake at night. Breakfast was good but a little regimented, at 0830 the bell rings and you better be their. All in all it was a nice stay and we'd recomend it.

My wife and I truly enjoyed our several stays at this wonderful Home away from Home. Scott and Anne go out of their way to assure the stay is one to remember. My fiance' and I stayed here midway through my R&R from Afghanistan. I've stayed with Scott and Anne before, but it was Dawn's first time. As always, from the first contact to make reservations, to the drive through the Blue Ridge area, to the wonderful "presentation" of the home as we pulled into the parking area, to Scott's warm and insightful tour of the home, to the clean, comfortable, tastefully decorated rooms, to Anne's amazingly tasty breakfast cooking ... I could go on for a long time, but suffice it to say that the Lovill House Inn - not to mention the gracious Innkeepers - is worth whatever detour you need to take in order to get there. But it can't be called much of a detour when you consider the locale! Boone is in the heart of some of the very best destinations that the Blue Ridge Parkway has to offer. Lovill House Inn is, and will continue to be, a destination unto itself for me whenever I plan a vacation or need to just get away for a few days.

We have been coming to the Lovill House Inn for 12 years and I plan to come back every year as long as we can. The Inn is great and the Innkeepers are super. We love the rooms and have stayed in them all. We try to rotate and spend equal time per room. Everything is always clean and neat and they always provide that little extra touch that most B&B's don"t. The flowers were especially beautiful on the grounds this fall. They always manage to find your room too. Fresh flowers are perfect and add that touch you never expect. Food is flawless and I am glad we don't live close or I would be packing on the pounds. Always a great selection and here again, if special needs are requested, they are met. We personally love it all! Don't miss a chance to stay here and enjoy the beauty and the great Inn. The Lovill House Inn provided us a very cozy quaint home base for our six day vacation within the mountains of western North Carolina where we could return each afternoon for relaxation, sipping wine and planning our activity for the next day. Each new day's morning breakfast was extraordinary, offering a unique new menu carefully crafted to ensure variety throughout the entire week. We particularly enjoyed the pleasure of spending our nights in the sping house cottage where we could enjoy our early morning solitude and coffee. Scott and Anne's wonderful personnalities and interaction with their guests are the signature that wraps the entire package into a perfect experience. If you plan to stay in the Boone area give yourself the gift of staying at the Lovill House Inn.

We arrived Friday evening around 6 pm to celebrate our 31st wedding anniversary. The owner gave us the name of a good restaurant, Char's, where we began our celebration. And of course, we topped off our meal with ice cream at Custard Depot! Delish! Saturday morning we ate a delicious meal and let our food settle while rocking in the chairs out on the wrap around front porch. Then we took a picnic and did a 3 mile hike off the Blue Ridge Parkway. After our nap back at the B&B, we went to The Red Onion for dinner and had more ice cream over at Scoops! Anybody see a common theme here? Sunday morning was rainy, but our breakfast was wonderful and then we went into town to do some last minute shopping. We really enjoyed our stay at the Lovill House Inn. Scott and Anne are wonderful hosts!

We spent a long weekend In Boone, N.C. recently at the Loville House Inn. We couldn't ask for a warmer greeting from our Host and Hostess. They were available at all times to help us in every way. Although we thought we would be in the country, this inn is actually on the edge of town, tucked back on a side street. Very convenient . We enjoyed eating at the big tables with all the other guests in the mornings, but would enjoy some flexiblility on the time. 8:30 is early on a rainy Saturday morning. Our room had a wood burning fireplace and a sofa. So cozy. Our mattress on the otherhand could use an upgrade. Not really bad, but not a pillow top . New pillows, maybe a few down pillows, would have been welcome. There is no airconditioning, but every room has a powerful little window fan, and a ceiling fan. We were comfortable, but wondered about the people in the upstairs rooms. We would probably return ...when the mattresses are upgraded. Boone is a great little college town and so close to so many other attractions in the Western N.C. mountains.

Even though this is a favorite room of guests and we have had many compliments on the bed of late, we appreciate your concerns and have taken action to improve the sleep experience in the room.

Hosts were welcoming and thorough about explaining the Inn. Plenty of information available about the surrounding area. Very hospitable about drinks etc from fridge. Room was a good size and very comfortable. Parking was by side of the Inn and off road so no problems. Breakfast was tasty and service was cheerful and friendly. Would strongly recommend a stay in the Lovill House Inn.

My wife and I had never stayed in a B&B before but wanted to to escape the NC coastal heat and do something special for her 52 birthday. I did some internet research into the Boone, NC area nd came up with the Lovill House as my choice. I could not have been more right. Scott and Anne were the best ! We felt as if we were family back in town for a reunion. We could not have felt more at home in their beautiful inn. It was as if we were in our own own home with full run of the house and nothing to do but enjoy. What a lovely porch, breakfasts were perfectly prepared bt Anne and Scott saw to our every need. The room, house and grounds were absolutely spotless and beautiful, evenb fired up the gas fireplace a few times! We will definitely stay again when in the Boone area. Never had a better time or nicer place to stay and I have been to many 5 star big name hotels. And I got lots of points with the wife for a great birthday choice !! Don't miss this great home. We just spent four days at the Lovill House Inn B & B. Although we have been staying at B & B's for many years, this one ranks among the very best. Anne & Scott made every effort to make our stay memorable, and they succeeded beyond our expectations. The Boone-Blowing Rock area has much to offer, but if you are looking for quiet and solitude, you can find that, as well. We have reservations for a fall leaves visit, and can't wait.

Could not have been more pleased. Our plan was to use Lovill House as a center from which to "tour" around the mountains during the week. However, we found the Innkeepers, the Inn & staff, and its grounds so delightful that we seldom left its confines. As honeymooners, we enjoyed the warm, yet unobtrusive, hospitality, the always available assistance (I locked us out of the cabin late one evening), the to-die-for breakfasts, the overall beauty of the Inn and its people, its proximity to every restaurant and place we did visit, mingling with the other guests; it just couldn't have been any better. We stayed in the cottage, and it was very pleasant. The innkeepers were always available and very good at assisting us in whatever our plans were for the day. We found the furnishings comfortable.
