Come enjoy the soothing sites and sounds that will surround you at Arbor House Bed and Breakfast. Experience the comforts of new but with the feeling of old in the arts and crafts style inn. Choose from four beautiful guest rooms, each with a large luxurious bathroom. Enjoy sitting by one of the two fireplaces or snuggling up in one of the many comfortable chairs to read a good book from the owners well stocked library. The garden seats offer wonderful views of Lake Tomahawk and the mountains leading up toward the Blue Ridge Parkway.
Lookout features a beamed balcony that provides spectacular views over Lake Tomahawk and up toward the Blue Ridge Parkway. Snuggle down in the plush king-sized bed and wake up to these mountain views. Step into the sunlit bath and pamper yourself with the glass shower, pedestal sink, and two-person whirlpool tub.
High Windy, located on the second floor, features a queen-sized bed and comfortable sitting chairs near a large window overlooking a tiered garden. Two European roof windows provide lots of light and the cool mountain breezes. As you enter the bath, light floods from the skylight into the two-person, walk-in, tile and glass-block shower with multiple sprays.
Greybeard, overlooking the lake on the first floor, features a queen-sized, black poster bed and comfortable reading chairs. Glass French doors open into a spacious bath with a wainscoted, two-person whirlpool tub and fluted glass and tile shower. The custom-built vanity, created from an antique dresser, has a large marble top with a white-fluted, porcelain sink.
Pinnacle, on the first floor, has two twin beds that can be converted into a king bed if needed. The blue and white color theme is carried throughout the room from the bed furnishings to the comfortable chairs and décor. White on white octagonal tile and wainscoting in the bath continue the old-style arts and crafts theme of the B&B.

Our stay at the Arbor House was a delight! We enjoyed a spacious room, comfortable bed, good breakfasts and a walk around Lake Tomahawk in the late afternoon. Carolyn and Dave are welcoming hosts. Highly recommend!

The photos we viewed online of the Arbor House B&B certainly enticed us enough to make the reservation. But once we got there, it was better than expected! The home is meticulously maintained and beautifully decorated. Each suite has its own bath and our bed was very, very comfortable! The grounds are fabulous and the view is breathtaking! We highly recommend staying at the Arbor House of Black Mountain!!

The first thing I do when I know I'll be in Black Mountain is check availablilty at Arbor House. What a gorgeous place! The rooms are large, well-appointed, inviting -- rooms you actually want to spend time in. The views across the adjoining gardens & lake out to the surrounding mountains are magnificent. The breakfasts are excellent -- creatively presented and often incorporating food from the garden. The hosts are both lovely. You couldn't ask for a better expreience.

My girlfriend and I have stayed at quite a few B & B's. After our first visit at the Arbor House, we fell in love with the total experience. We always look forward to the delicious breakfasts and views from the dining room window (and the fireplace burning and crackling). I enjoy strolling around Lake Tomahawk at any time of the day. Carolyn and Dave are very gracious hosts. If you want the ultimate B&B experience, go and see for yourself!!

Carolyn and Dave Johnson
Our interests include many outdoor activities, which makes the location of Arbor House ideal. Dave is an avid golfer and tennis player. The many local hiking trails are particularly rewarding for Carolyn. Both of us like to hike, bike & bird watch and we enjoy bridge and other indoor games.
