My wife and I go to the Taylor House Inn each year for our anniversary. The beautiful town drew us to the area -- the Inn is just minutes from historic Valle Cruces, a great destination rain or shine. The view from the Inn overlooks a beautiful valley and is just minutes away from a brisk hike to a beautiful waterfall. Bernard is quite the botanist keeping flower gardens and shrubs all over the property shaded by 100 year old trees with a giant front porch and gazebo. Once you enter the house you see a large open living room full of beautiful art and warm seating. The hallway always has hot water and tea along with French style coffee and a delicious bread or cake. The Russo's are very welcoming and always go out of their way to make sure you are enjoying each aspect of your stay. Although we had reserved a different room I mentioned to Bernard that my wife would love to be in the room with the claw foot tub (Aunt Doris). Someone had canceled that day and he upgraded our room on the spot! The King size beds are always comfortable and each room has its own unique and well framed view. Almost every room has its own restroom and mini fridge, the attic suite even has a television and couch (it's the honeymoon suite so it's setup for an extended stay). Tessa is truly a French Chef. We had a wonderful Kish and miniature French pastries one morning and Waffles with fresh fruit and wonderful maple syrup with all kinds of fresh nuts. The Dining room is spacious and set up with one large table and three smaller in case there's a couple who would like to sit off to themselves. They have menus and restaurant recommendations available on request and lots of literature for things to do in the area in case your original plans aren't panning out. My wife and I will be back for years to come, if you're looking for a mountain getaway you ought to check out the Taylor House Inn, you will be glad you did.

This was my third time staying at the Taylor House. Upon arriving Tessa put out some delicious crackers and cheese. I didn't even need to go out for supper, as the snack filled me up. I was there for the Scottish Fiddle School at the conference center next door. It was so nice to get away from the hustle and bustle and relax for awhile every afternoon, and late at night. Bernard didn't mind if we practiced our fiddles. He even allowed us to use the piano. I was able to compose some parts to one of the tunes which I wrote. Breakfasts were spectacular! Tessa could be on the Food Network. Very healthy foods were served every morning with very attractive presentations. This is so much better than the waffle/bagel thing you get at most hotels. This time I stayed in the "Little Room in the Red Cottage". It was perfect for me. Every morning they clean up your room and give you plenty of towels. They make up your bed perfectly, even if you try to make it yourself. Tessa and Bernard are the perfect hosts. If you need anything, they will do what they can to help you. I can hardly wait to go back next year.

Excellent hosts. Enjoyed staying is a room where with the widows open, the ceiling fan on low, and a slight breeze we slept great for two nights. Breakfast was excellent.

Last minute trip and reservation, Tessa made my daughter and I feel very welcome. The Little Red Cottage was comfortable and quiet. The big house was beautiful. If I'm ever in the area again, I would not hesitate to stay here again.

We are familiar with the area, having traveled there many times but this is the first time we have stayed with Bernard and Tessa at Taylor House. They are very gracious hosts and we enjoyed meeting them very much. Would recommend this B & B to anyone. Great place to stay!

Taylor House Inn is a ver attractive property with colorful flowers and huge trees. The main house itself is very inviting and it is well decorated and comfortable inside. Our accommodations included a large sitting area and a large bedroom with roomy bath. The property managers were very pleasant and helpful. A great place to stay that matches well with this area we were visiting.

The Salmon with breakfast was the best thing I ever tasted. Loved the location with the river and farms right across the street. Bed was great. We stayed in the main house. The outside cabin was not as attractive to us. Claw foot tub - wonderful. Grounds - very inviting. Porch was superb. Hosts were very welcoming and helpful. The only thing bad was that we could only stay for one night.
