Valle Crucis, North Carolina has been attracting settlers and travelers alike, for nearly 200 years. Taylor House Inn is a Bed & Beakfast and, with the majestic surrounding valley scene and the beautiful herb garden, it is the perfect place to spend some quality time as well as to host an outdoor wedding or any other event. We at the Taylor House Inn invite you to come and experience a place that seems one of times past, a place where moments of solitude are as abundant as the rivers and streams that give life to the surrounding hills. We feel fortunate to be part of such a powerful place and would like to extend our hospitality to help share the magic of Valle Crucis.

We enjoyed a very pleasant two night stay at this lovely inn while exploring the high country. Valle Crucis is one of our favorite spots in this area as it is off the beaten path just enough to afford a real escape. The inn was a great choice. Bernard and Tessa were wonderful hosts, full of area information and very helpful. The room was comfortable and the breakfasts were delicious. We enjoyed the front porch each night with the sound of the nearby river and a cup of tea with a homemade goodie which is provided each evening. There are lots of places to choose to dine in nearby Boone or Banner Elk, or you can just go down to the nearby crossroads and enjoy a wonderful meal at Over Yonder. We will certainly plan a return to the Taylor House Inn on our next swing through the area.

Let me just say that this was my first time to ever stay at a bed & breakfast and I have to say that I LOVED IT!!! The Taylor House Inn is outstanding in all areas! I loved our hosts, the house and its history (which is posted inside), the breakfasts were to die for and the atmosphere was so relaxing. I would love to visit again in the near future.

Tessa and Bernard were most gracious and welcoming hosts. Tessa helped me with dinner reservations the minute I arrived and was most helpful in getting me settled and comfortable. I enjoyed the deep inviting porches where you can relax and watch the world go by. The make great coffee and the breakfasts were excellent! I felt like I was staying with family rather than strangers. I highly recommend The Taylor House Inn for anyone who plans to visit Valle Crucis. Bob Francisco

Valle Crucis was a wonderful discovery. Close to the area's attractions but just so peaceful. The Taylor House Inn was also a wonderful discovery. It captures the essence of the peaceful surroundings. Sitting on the porch and watching a family of deer cautiously meander through an adjacent field was just so nice. The inn itself is very comfortable, with a lot of emphasis on making guests feel at home. Home baked treats every day were great. Breakfasts were first class. Very creative and beautiful, especially in the lovely dining room with bright windows and pretty Provencal decor. Our stay was completely enjoyable and we hope to return.
