Lovely place 15 minutes outside of Boone and Banner Elk, NC. It was a wonderful stay, great room, and charming owners. I will be going back next time I ski Sugar Mnt.

The rooms were chilly. I woke up several times and was cold. The hot water was great however. Filled up the bathtub and never ran out. Would go back, but would pick a room that wasn't on the1st floor.

The owners are wonderful hosts. The house is in a wonderful rural area within a short driving distance to the ski sloped and the Mast General Store. It was simply wonderful and we will return.

I just want to say thanks for the best time. The place it's amazing, the attention from Mr Bernard and Ms Tessa make you feel like home. Very sweet people, many beatiful details, and the place it's a dream. MORE THAN OUTSTANDING

Stayed in the Squire Taylor Suite. The place has a wonderful atmosphere to it. My only complaint was the chair and couch in the sitting area were uncomfortable to sit in. They look wonderful but were not conducive to sitting in them for any length of time.The service and food were excellent.

We had a fabulous new years weekend here, and can't say enough good things about the experience. The Russos are so welcoming, cordial and breakfast is delicious. We loved our room, and will definitely visit again!

We planned a weekend getaway to go skiing and enjoy the Blue Ridge Mountain area. What a great weekend it turned out to be! The innkeepers were perfect hosts, tending to our needs and making sure we had directions to our destinations. Our room was perfectly appointed and warm, which was nice to came back to after a long day out in the cold. Breakfast was outstanding both mornings. I cannot say enough about Tessa and Bernard. They made our stay very special. We will definitely return!!

I had a wonderful stay at the Taylor House Inn. Tessa and Bernard Russo were very kind. My room was large and comfortable. The food was excellent! From fresh fruit to the lightest corn meal pancakes everything was perfect.

My wife and I have made each other a promise to get away every year on our anniversary, even if for only one night. Sure enough, this year work schedules and family obligations restricted us to just one night. So we wanted to do something special. Neither of us had ever stayed at a B&B before, but have often talked about it. We decided that was what we would do this year. The economic of course gave us some restrictions, and Taylor House Inn fit our budget and was absolutely beautiful as well. We could not have asked for better. The house is gorgeous, the room was spotless and very comfortable, the extras like long distance (including international) calls, drinks in the in room refridgerator, and downstairs refreshments were complimentary. Breakfast was incredible and there's no way you leave the table hungry.

Stayed in Aunt Sue's room and it was wonderful. The bed was comfy and the breakfast was delicious!!!!! Tessa and Bernard are wonderful people and very knowledgeable about the area!!!! Can't wait to visit again!!!!!!

The Taylor House sits amongst beautiful trees in the back and the front porch of the main house overlooks a stream and pasture. Quiet, calm and serene are words that come to mind. The rooms are charming and inviting, each with its own personality. The innkeepers are friendly, likeable and anxious to please. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there!

What a perfect weekend of rest and relaxation! Beautiful, cozy, quaint, perfect location...what else can I say? The owners are so kind and gracious and the perfect hosts! The views are like something out of a magazine. Can't wait to go back!

This was our first experience at a B&B. We were celebrating our 11th wedding aniversary. We loved our stay and will come back again. The best thing about a B&B is the social interaction with other guest and the innkeepers. That just doesn't happen in a hotel. In fact one of the guest gave us free tickets to the ASU Football Game (Thanks again for the tickets). I will definitely stay at this B&B again. In fact I might start using B&Bs over hotels in the future. Great job Tessa and Bernard.

My wife and I decided to celebrate our 17th wedding anniversary by staying in a B&B in the Banner Elk / Valle Crucis area of North Carolina because of the charm and character of the local area. We chose the Taylor House Inn because of its good reviews on B&B.com, the quaint appearance of the photos on its website, and because it is tucked away in a more rural area on a map. We were not dissappointed. The Inn has the ambiance of a bygone era of the old South, nestled away in the hills. We stayed in the Lou Hill Smith's suite which was quite spacious and private, located at the top floor of the house. Tessa provided us warm, scruptious breakfasts and Bernard provided excellent recommendations on what to do, see, and eat in the local area. We'll be a return customer!

Just had a fantastic trip to the NC mountains and no visit is complete without staying at the Taylor House Bed and Breakfast in Valle Crucis ( have stayed numerous times). The house is lovely, the rooms are roomy, clean and very comfortable. The hosts, Tessa and Bernard, go above and beyond to make your stay enjoyable and individualized. Tessa made my partner and I a wonderful vegan breakfast.

If you're going to call the Taylor House Inn a Bed & Breakfast, you need to put the word BREAKFAST in all caps. Best B&B dining I've ever had. The location is conveniently nestled between some of NC's best sites and attractions and close to the Blue Ridge Parkway, which for our October stay was a must. The only reason a couple of my ratings were "Met my expectations" and not higher, was that research had led me to expect top quality. I was not disappointed.

My Husband and I just had our wedding at the Taylor House Inn. Planning a destination wedding on my own seemed difficult, but Tessa had all the answers to any questions that I had. She arranged all of the rentals that we needed and put me in touch with the right people to make the whole thing happen. The weather changed drastically a couple of days before the wedding and she secured a much needed heater for the reception. Bernard did the photography and took beautiful pictures. We were able to rent the entire Inn for our family, which made everything very easy. They were both very accommodating and helped make our day special. My husband and I also stayed here prior to booking it for our wedding site and were very pleased with our overall experience. - Jolene

This is the 3rd time we have stayed at the Taylor House Inn. The owners, who have personable and pleasant in the past, became much more like friends this trip. They do a remarkable job with service and food in a part of the world where both are somewhat hard to come by.

Quiet and pastoral location right next to the conveniences of Boone and the mountains, but without the hubbub. Delicious breakfast!

Tessa and Bernard are charming, lively and attentive hosts - they absolutely cannot be topped in terms of hospitality. They truly make you feel welcome without being the least bit intrusive. The inn is located off of a windy country road, in a beautiful wooded setting. Other than the occassional car passing by, you can sit on the front porch (rocking chairs or swing) and listen to the sounds of nature - it is a nice escape from city life. We were also able to walk to the Mast General Store from the inn. Bernard is a great source for ideas and information about the area. We went to the mountains with no specific plans, and he helped map out our days. Tessa is an excellent cook - breakfast was different each day (we stayed four nights) and the service was 5-star. I felt like a princess every morning! The rooms were clean and neat - yes, it is an older inn, but well cared for. We did receive an upgrade when we arrived, which was very appreciated. The Aunt Doris room is comfortable and quiet (and has a charming claw-foot tub in the bath). The bed was made up and towels replaced each day, so we always came back to a neat room. Overall, this was a pleasant stay with hosts who made us feel completely welcome and at home. Highly recommended!

The location was perfect, the breakfast was detailed, delicious and filling, the room was large, uncluttered and clean. We do note that we received a free upgrade because not all rooms were filled. The innkeepers were friendly, hospitable and engaging. Will seek to go back.

I would say that the host/hostess were the best there is! We will certainly recommend this B & B and will go back again. We were there for l week.

My fiancee and I went up to Taylor House to have a middle-of-the-week "weekend getaway" (she works weekends). We saw everything online, made reservations, etc., and came up for our stay. We got a bit lost on the way inn, so we called - and Tessa expertly, and happily, directed us in. So far, so good. Then, when we arrived, we were treated to a sudden upgrade in room - an unexpected, and very much appreciated, bonus! As we needed a place to eat that night, Tessa helped us find a great little spot (she apparently knows all the great-food places in the area). Then, we settled in, had a good sleep, and awoke - to an amazing two-course breakfast. And, by "amazing," I mean AMAZING. And that's why there are so many "Outstandings" in our review. Because, frankly, they truly were "outstanding." Personally, I'm not big on giving out 5/5 reviews, since so few things are outstanding. However, Tessa & Bernard truly did provide us with an outstanding experience. And, as the title says, it was so good that ... well, I just booked our return trip. There is one note that people should be aware of: it's an older house, tucked into a valley. Given that, as you might expect, there's a bit of a smell of dampness to it. People with some breathing conditions may want to make sure you get the hypoallergenic pillows (available) and turn on the A/C to clear things out. It kinda comes with the territory. I wouldn't mention it except that I have members of my family who are sensitive to such things, so folks should know. That said, again: our experience was so wonderful, we're returning soon!

We love to go the the mountains to escape the summer heat. The Taylor house is a great place to land. Tessa and Bernard are great hosts. The location allows us a short drive to the park for a walk, a short trip into Banner Elk or Blowing Rock.

It was our 55th Wedding Anniversary and the Russos went out of their way to make it very special for us. We had a suite, a wonderful upgrade, and breakfast was delicious. Before we stayed at the Inn we had asked about places to eat for dinner, and Mrs Russo went spent some time arranging a reservation for us, so that the whole experience really exceeded our expectations. It was an anniversary we will remember.

The Taylor House Inn was a pleasant surprise. The room was comfortable and well appointed. The house was beautifully decorated with stunning artwork. The innkeepers were delightful and friendly, hailing from France and Italy. We enjoyed chatting with them about their amazing travels over a five star French breakfast of pastry and souflee. The overall experience felt like it could just as easily have been an inn in Switzerland. Loved it, and we would highly recommend the Taylor House and it's charming owners' hospitality to anyone seeking a romantic retreat.

Bernard and Tessa are the best hosts, they are friendly without invading your privacy. Very helpful with planning trips. The house is clean and comfortable and we loved the porch. The breakfast is a gourmet delight, something different every day. Delicious and filling, set us up for the day. We were there in early July for four days and we will defineatly come back if we can.

On December 26, 2010 I married the man of my dreams at the TAYLOR HOUSE INN! With only two weeks notice (and Christmas right around the corner!), Tessa thought of EVERYTHING and made it look easy. She and Bernard hosted our fairytale wedding and provided our family excellent accommodations. Every time we gather we long for her egg roulade! Bernard captured every step of the weekend beautifully in photos. I could not be more pleased, every element of our wedding and stay exceeded our dreams, and the snow was a bonus! My son had his wedding at the Taylor House and we, his parent, were very pleased. We stayed the night of the wedding and found everything to be far beyond our expectations. We plan to return for another stay in the near future.

I stayed at the Taylor House Inn in early May with my 2 young daughters (6 and 4). The house was built in the early 1900's but it is very clean, comfortable, and doesn't smell like an old house. The room was comfortable and clean and we slept with the window open so we could hear the stream across the street. The best part of the stay is the Inn owners (Tessa and Bernard)...they really made us feel welcome and at home. Bernard even cut my youngest pancakes for her. :^)

My wife and I spent two nights at Taylor House Inn for her birthday. We used to come to Valle Crucis for several years, but never had the pleasure of staying here until now. The accommodations were lovely, the host were warm and friendly and made every effort to assure our stay was memorable. We will return!

The owners are very accommodating and the dog next door (Jack the Black Lab) is as nice a neighbor as you will ever meet.

My husband and I were traveling in the mountains with another couple and booked rooms at the Taylor House based on reviews and price. We had two large, bright, immaculate rooms with comfortable king beds. Tessa prepared a gourmet breakfast, and portions were more generous than those often served at B&B's. Because the inn is a bit off the beaten track, if you arrive after the dinner hour, as we did, you might want to stop at a restaurant in Boone or Blowing Rock before checking in. Note: judging from photo albums displayed in the living room, the Taylor House is a lovely place for a wedding.

On Monday, April 18th, my wife and I spent a wonderful day at the Taylor Inn to celebrate our 13th wedding anniversary. The location could not have been more charming and the Innkeepers seemed, almost at once, like family. We were fortunate to be able to view every room and will be comfortable in any one of them when we return for another visit. The atmosphere seemed to lower our blood pressure by at least 30 points. Both Tessa and Bernard proved to be historians on the area and handled all of our inquiries with ease. Breakfast the following morning was five star. We look forward to opportunities to visit our wonderful hosts again.

Upon arrival we discovered, we had been granted an upgrade to a larger room. The Inn is very clean and comfortable. Our breakfast on both days of our stay was wonderful. The Inn Keepers made our stay very comfortable. My husband and I are very laid-back; we enjoyed the way the inn keepers were friendly, helpful, accommodating, and not hoovering.

As a first time bed and breakfast guest, I wasn't exactly sure what to expect. We were greeted warmly and promptly by Bernard, who upgraded our room for free. He provided dinner recommendations, maps, and even the weather report! We wanted for nothing during our stay. The room was spacious and clean, with luxurious bedding. I was surprised that there was no TV in the room, but what a small price to pay for an beautiful weekend in a beautiful area. We would definately stay again!

my husband and i needed a long overdue break..he from teaching, me from caring for my 92 year old mother, so, we decided to take a week off during his semester break and travel down the blue ridge drive to visit north carolina. i found the taylor inn on your site and it looked perfect. we wanted a place in the country and i immediately fell in love with the inn and it's big front porch. we spent two wonderful days at the inn and the innkeepers couldn't have been more caring. the food was absolutely wonderful..both days we were so full from breakfast that we skipped lunch altogether!! I can't wait to return again to our "home" in North Carolina!

I was very hesitant about staying at a Bed and Breakfast due to noises, but honestly I had a GREAT first experience and look forward to staying with Tessa and Bernard in the near future. Hospitality and breakfasts were the best!!!

We were in town for a birthday celebration and it was a wonderful highlight of our trip to stay at the Taylor House Inn! Several aspects of our trip were less than satisfactory but each night that we returned to the inn our spirits were lifted by the wonderful atmosphere. We were upgraded based on availablity for the birthday we were celebrating and that was awesome! Our room was extremely clean, beautifully & eclectically decorated. Bernard and Tessa are really gracious hosts and have done an excellent job as innkeepers!

We have stayed here twice now. The first time was by a series of unforeseen events. The second time was based on past experience. The cute private cottage is nice and romantic, for the same price as the in-house rooms! The grounds are cute. The pastries are delicious and the coffee was smooth.

My wife and I skied all day at Beech Mountain and then stayed at the Taylor House Inn. For the money that we paid this was an excellent value. It was a weekday and we were the only ones there. We were upgraded to a very beautiful upstairs room with a private bath. The hosts had hot brownies and cocoa waiting for us and gave us several recommendations for local restaurants for dinner. The room was clean, the shower was hot, the bed was very comfortable. There is nothing really to complain about at this place. They cooked my wife's favorite, Eggs Benedict for breakfast. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this Inn to anyone. It might be a different experience if it's crowded in peak season but for us it was a very pleasant getaway! The attitude of the hosts can make all the difference and they really couldn't be nicer.

We had a wonderful time at this quanit 100 yr. old house. The inn keepers were very gracious and excellent cooks. A great place to just get away from it all.

We found this B&B when planning a trip to Sugar Mountain. The couple who runs it were extremely accomodating and friendly. They made the quick little ski get away something to remember. Unbelievable find!

My boyfriend and I chose this place because of all the amazing reviews and everything that everyone says is completely true. The couple who runs Taylor House Inn are genuinely kind people who really do just want you to have the best weekend possible. The breakfast was amazing! We felt like we were being treated like royalty. The location is great- far enough away from everything that you feel like you're at a getaway in the mountains, but close enough for a short drive to anywhere you want to go. I definitely recommend this place for everyone!

My husband and I stayed here for two nights in January and it was absolutely wonderful. If you are looking for a nice romantic getaway, this is the place to stay. We were only a few miles away from Sugar Mountain where we went snowboarding. The inn was well kept and very clean. It was a romantic and cozy feel. Wonderful hospitality and the inn keepers were very nice and friendly. The two coarse breakfast each morning was amazing! I will definately stay again.

We stayed at Taylor House Inn for one night December 30th. We found the inn to be very warm and inviting. Tessa and Bernard are amazing Innkeepers, they make you feel right at home. The rooms feel very private and are well appointed and cozy. I follow a vegan diet so Tessa prepared a custom breakfast just for me! The property is breathtaking. We will be back, and in the meantime we will tell all our friends about this wonderful Inn.

First time staying at an Inn and Ive been telling everyone about it. The owners give you a key to the house so you can go in and get coffee, tea, hot chocolate and cake whenever you want. We stayed in a private cabin with bathroom. Its a quick drive to any ski resort. This is the only place Ill be staying whenever I visit N.C. again.

Very clean, comfortable, owners very amiable, willing to help and respond to questions. Excellent conversation with the innkeepers, very reasonable rates. This facility exceeded my expectations and would go back in a heartbeat. This was an excellent choice.

We were upgraded to a room in the house the moment we arrived. Innkeepers could not have been more accommodating. Changed our breakfast time to an hour earlier upon our request so we could hit the slopes sooner. Breakfast was amazing! Eggs Benedict and other French foods as well, all from scratch! Will be back!

I can't speak highly enough about our stay at the Taylor House Inn! From the moment we walked in the hospitality was superb. Coffee, tea and treats were always available. Breakfast was elegant and delicious. The Inn was not at full occupancy so Tessa and Bernard graciously upgraded our room. And Bernard provided a great guide for exporation of Boone, Blowing Rock, and Grandfather Mountain. We will surely be back!

Our trip to the Boone, NC, area was enhanced by our stay at the Taylor House Inn. It is located in a beautiful area with a great view of the countryside, the service and breakfast were excellent, and the house and rooms were very well kept and comfortable -- well worth such a reasonable price. In our travels, my husband and I have stayed at some really good B&B's, but Taylor House Inn is our new favorite! With warm and gracious hosts Tessa and Bernard, in a lovely 100 year old farmhouse surrounded by trees and mountains, the THI is a revelation. We were celebrating our anniversary and found this inn, booked it and were delighted to find upon arrival that we were upgraded to a larger room. Fresh warm muffins awaited us, along with hot apple cider, and we enjoyed those while sitting on the expansive wraparound porch and amongst the beautiful scenery. The interiors of the house are filled with unbelievable artwork from the innkeeper's mother and daughter and it's as though you are staying in an art museum! The rooms are lovely, complete with stocked refrigerators, robes and Hershey kisses by the bed and the house itself, even at 100 years old, is very quiet. The breakfast was nothing short of spectacular, with the innkeeper's heritage proudly on display with a wonderful meal that would be at home in a fine restaurant. The THI is located a stone's throw from Boone and Blowing Rock, and is affordable elegance! We stayed at a fraction of the price of other inns in that area, and had an extraordinary time! Bernard and Tessa, it was wonderful and we'll be back shortly!

We were welcomed to this charming and comfortable B and B by the gracious proprietors Tessa and Bernard. We were made to feel at home immediately as Tessa showed us around the home. Lovely original artwork adorn the walls and the rooms were comfortable, neat as a pin and well stocked with all the amenities a guest might need. There is coffee, tea (a huge variety), hot cocoa available to guests almost all day. Breakfast was a delicious two course event. Tessa will claim that she's not a chef but her breakfasts both days were original and DELICIOUS. The proprietors' ease permeates their home as each day we visited and chatted quite comfortably with them and the other guests there. The B and B is centrally located and an absolute gem.

We stayed in the Little Red Room which needs a few updates for a more comfortable stay.

We had a wonderful getaway weekend at the Taylor House Inn. The innkeepers were so helpful with information about where to go and what to do. The food was fanastic! And the room was clean and cozy. We'll definitely be back!

The Taylor House is very relaxing in a beautiful setting. Bernard and Tessa were very welcoming. The most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. This place is a wonderful place to relax.

Tess and Bernard are wonderful people who make you feel at home. The food was phenomenal. The location of the inn is just far enough away from everything to make it peaceful and relaxing.

We very much enjoyed out stay here. Tessa and Bernard are excellent hosts. The breakfasts were superb. The rooms really are large and our room in particular, Aunt Nancy's room, had a nice view. I would definitely recommend this B&B. Additionally Tessa placed flowers in our room as a gift to my wife for our 10 year anniversary. Again... excellent hosts.

Of all the B&Bs my wife and I have stayed at throughout the southeast, the Taylor House Inn is by far our favorite. The hosts are wonderful, the meals excellent, and the views marvelous. It was our first time there but it won't be our last.

We made our reservations at the last minute, and were pleasantly surprised. We were upgraded to a larger room upon arrival, at no charge. The rooms were clean and spacious. Breakfast was home cooked and delicious.

Tessa and Bernard are 2 of the kindest and most hospitable people you could ever hope to meet. Every question or request was responded to with a smile. The rooms were spacious, clean and inviting. The 2 course gourmet breakfasts were promtly served as promised and special diet requests were accomodated. I sincerely hope to have many more stays at the Taylor House Inn. It felt like home, while on vacation.

After having our wedding at the Taylor House Inn last year, we decided to revisit the B&B for our one-year anniversary. It was so incredible. Bernard and Tessa had upgraded our room, provided us a bottle of champagne and choclates and the sweetest card ever. I absolutely adore this bed and breakfast and love Tessa and Bernard like extended family members! Thanks for everything!!!

I came to Valle Crucis to run a half marathon. I booked the Taylor use Inn due to the close proximity to the race start & the rates & rooms looked appealing. Upon arriving my husband & I were greeted by Bernard. He was very charming & gracious and very fun to talk to. He helped make our stay very enjoyable. He & Tessa helped make us feel welcome & very comfortable right from the start. You don't always get that with B&B's. Not only did they accomadate my needs for the upcoming race they were interested in how the race turned out for me. Tessa prepared such wonderful breakfasts which my husband talked about for the rest of our stay! All of this in such a beautiful serene setting. I highly recommend the Taylor House Inn.

Enjoyed our stay very much. Very relaxing,wonderfully decorated house,food was very good, and Tessa and Bernard are great hosts. Husband Kevin and I just returned from a three night stay - our second visit to Taylor House. (We didn't write a review but voted for this B&B by returning for another visit.) Due to the season, we had the house to ourselves and enjoyed a room upgrade to a suite. The food and service were wonderful. We always enjoy visiting with Tessa and Bernard. The furnishings were comfortable, and the bathroom spacious. We'll be back!

My son was married at the Taylor House Inn. We had a wonderful time. It was a nice, relaxing stay. The weather was beautiful! Tessa and Bernard made us feel welcome and were willing to help in any way that they could. We will definitely be returning for a weekend getaway!! The rooms were decorated beautifully.

I would recommend Taylor House Inn to anyone looking for an affordable, hospitable, and beautiful inn. The innkeepers were wonderful and they provided an absolutely delicious breakfast. The rooms were lovely and we were quite comfortable and happy.

We had a wonderful time on our 2-night stay at the Taylor House Inn. Tessa and Bernard were very friendly and could not have been nicer. They made great recommendations for restaurants and a spa in the area. Free wifi was nice and they even put some chocolate covered strawberries in the room for my girlfriend's birthday which we were celebrating. I thought the room was a bit pricey but it was in line with other B&Bs in the area and it must be taken into account that it was move-in weekend at ASU in Boone so there was great demand for rooms in the area the weekend that we stayed there. All in all, it was a very nice weekend!

From an upgrade at no additional cost, to pastry and coffee/tea available upon arrival and flowers for our anniversary, our get away was very special. WOW!!, We were referred to this wonderful location from another B&B. We were told that the hosts put on a spectacular breakfast and did they ever! I felt like I was in a 5 Star Restaurant with the presentation and quality of both food and service beyond any I have experienced to date. We had a great stay at the Taylor House Inn. Bernard and Tessa were great hosts. Breakfast was wonderful, especially the peach tart.

The Taylor House Inn was a really quite relaxing place to stay! The rooms were very nice and extremely clean. The bed was really comfortable and we enjoyed the rocking chairs on the front porch. The inn keepers were extremely friendly. The breakfast was very french which I am not so fond of personally, but I'm sure it would have been excellent for someone who likes a french breakfast. They did have a delightful homemade peach pastry that I really enjoyed. We would definately visit again!!! NOTE: If you do visit and wish to have a TV in your room make sure that you request a room with a TV.

We stayed here for two nights on our honeymoon. We stayed in the "Little Room," which was in it's own cottage separate from the main inn. It was perfect for us, very nicely decorated, with A/C, a mini fridge, and a big bathroom. Tessa and Bernard, the innkeepers, were very friendly and helpful. We had a great stay, enjoyed the area, and would definitely return!

We enjoyed our stay. It was our first visit back to the Inn since our daughter had chosen the Taylor House Inn as the site for her wedding. Everything was a wonderful as we remembered,and Tessa and Bernard were as welcoming as we had remembered them to be.

We stayed only one night and it was a very pleasant stay. The grounds are very nice and the Inn is decorated very nice and has a nice comfortable feel to it. Our room was nice, the only thing I would change is putting a lock on the sitting room part of the suite so other guests cannot enter from the hallway. Other than that it was a perfect visit. We needed a place to escape and rest and this was it!! The innkeepers were very nice and helpful also.

Two couples plus my husband and I traveled from Lexington Ky on a mystery trip (only the guys knew where we were going), and when we pulled into the driveway at the Taylor House Inn, we women were delighted. The house is wonderful, relaxing, and away from the maddening crowd. Tessa and Bernard are the delightful innkeepers, and genuinely seem to enjoy what they do. We sat outside on the huge front porch, and Tessa brought us some fruit and cheese to have with our wine before dinner. We were being pampered! The rooms have just recently been redone, and are ample with large bathrooms. The bed was very comfortable, and I slept like a log until time to get up to prepare for a run. Bernard suggested a couple running routes, and 3 of us took a run through a field which was very picturesque and had soft footing. Breakfast was ready when we returned. We were treated to coffee, grapefruit, orange and cranberry juices, quiche, fried potatoes, ham, and toast. A good way to start the day!. After breakfast, the men told us to pack as we were leaving and continuing on our mystery trip - I was somewhat disappointed because the Inn was such a delightful place to stay. I hope to return and spend more time at this Inn!!

This family reunion here at the Taylor House Inn was one of a kind. I've never met such wonderful and caring people before! Tessa and Bernard even helped us plan many family outings with their vass knowledge of the towns near by. The house was so warm and it felt just like home which was perfect for such an event! With their hospitality, the scenery, and the inviting warmth of the beds this has been, by far the best family reunion we have ever had! I can promise that we will be coming here for every family reunion that we have from now on.

For our familly reunion this year, we choose the Taylor House Inn for the mountains, the surrounding, the peace... Being a large familly, we booked the whole inn for 5 days. We will cherish this one forever. The place is super. The surrounding so inviting, Tessa and Bernard went out of their way to make every moments count, pointing out some attractions for both adults and kids and making sure we were taken care of at all times. Relaxing and reconnecting together while watching the children play and run in the yard: Priceless, a little slice of heaven. We were in the Attic Suite.... Spacious, inviting , fresh flowers every day, and of course the grand children jumping on our bed in the morning. It was hard to part again with our familly, but also felt the same about the Taylor House Inn, Tessa and Bernard... Perfect vacation, Priceless memories.....

The Taylor House Inn is one of the most comfortable B&Bs we have ever encountered. Tessa and Bernard Russo are welcoming and attentive hosts. The food is excellent, the setting is beautiful, and the decor is welcoming. The artwork alone, however, is worth the visit. We cannot wait to visit again.

We had a wonderful stay at the Taylor House Inn. We got married at the Taylor House two years ago and we continue to come back to stay for our anniversaries. Tessa and Bernard are wonderful and go above and beyond with everything they do. I would recommend the Taylor House to everyone!

Stayed one night for a cycling race. I called all the B&B's in Valley Crucis and chose the Taylor House based on price and value. Other B&B's also recommended them. Everyone was very kind. Very peaceful, quiet setting in a wooded and secluded location. The other B&B's were on the main road and got much more traffic. I saw a couple of cars go by my whole stay. Pie, tea and coffee was sitting out when I arrived. There always was something out to snack on. Each room has it's own independent air conditioner, wifi worked well, beds were comfortable, towels were soft and scented. In the evening I sat out on the porch. I was there June 25 and the temp got down to 55 degrees. Very comfortable and cool nights. Great break from the high heat and humidity. I left the next morning before breakfast and the owners gave me a care package the night before. The owners were very kind and made me feel at home. They periodically asked if everything was meeting my expectations. The only thing missing was someone to share it with. Next year I will bring others.

We were part of the wedding party that stayed at the Taylor Inn. We were greeted by the owners Bernard and Tessa and found them to be a charming and gracious couple who provided the best service and accomodations. My wife and I experienced the beauty and charm of Boone, NC but it was nothing compared to this historic manor house. I beleive we enjoyed the inside beauty of this house as much as the Boone could provide. The means were nothing short of spectacular and very delicious. I highly recommned this B&B to anyone traveling to Boone. Enjoy the magic!

The stay was wonderful and we were served a fantastic breakfast. I was riding in the bike race and the inn keepers had packed me a breakfast the night before since I would be cycling the next day during the breakfast time! They were wonderful hosts and the house is in a very peaceful and beautiful setting. I highly recommend the Taylor House Inn. I have stayed here twice and will be back. The peach ice tea and apple pie is terrific. The front porch is very large and relaxing. I can't say enough great things about this place.

This was our first time staying at a b&b and we could not have picked a better location. The location was wonderful (we even got to hear bagpipe music through the windows at night :)). Breakfast was amazing and the service was far better than ever expected. This experience has turned us into b&b lovers and cannot wait until we can book a room again! We had an amazing time at the Taylor House B&B. We brought our 14 year old son and he was very welcomed. The breakfast was amazing. We really felt like family. Tessa and Bernard went out of their ways to make us feel like family.

The Taylor House Inn is in a gorgeous mountain valley just a hop from Boone and Blowing Rock. We went for a walk after we checked in, and it was like being in a post card. We passed by farms and saw all kinds of animals. Our room was perfect and very relaxing. The French Innkeepers gave added European charm. The breakfast was amazing. Will go back for sure.

My bride-to-be and I spent the weekend of May 14th,2010 at the Inn. We are getting married there in a few short weeks. Tessa and Bernard are wonderful innkeepers and did everything you could ask for. The breaksfast were simply delicious with great attention and care to the details.

Tessa is one of the most talented chefs I have had to pleasure to be able to partake of her creations. Breakfast was elegant and more than enough to fill us up for a day of hiking. Bernard was galant in helping us with luggage and kept our coffee cups full! They were knowledgeable and entertaining sharing the history of the house and the community.
